- Emperor Pilaf, along with Mai and Shu, somehow find the Electric rice cooker containing King Piccolo, and free him from his imprisonment.
- Piano is born.
May 7:
- Tien Shinhan wins the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament. Goku once again takes second place.
- Tambourine is born.
- Tambourine kills Krillin, Nam, King Chappa, Pamput, Bacterian, Man-Wolf, Giran and other participants of past World Tournaments.
May 8:
- Cymbal is born and later killed by Yajirobe.
- Tambourine is killed by Goku.
- King Piccolo defeats Goku, nearly killing him, in retaliation for the deaths of Cymbal and Tambourine. Goku recovers and begins his quest to find the Ultra Divine Water.
- Master Roshi dies attempting the Evil Containment Wave.
- Chiaotzu is killed by King Piccolo.
- Shenron is destroyed by King Piccolo after granting his wish for restored youth.
May 9:
- Goku drinks the Ultra Divine Water and survives its trials, becoming powerful enough to defeat King Piccolo.
- Drum is born, and later killed by Goku.
- Piano is killed during the second battle between Goku and King Piccolo.
- King Piccolo is killed by Goku.
- Piccolo is born.
- Everyone killed by King Piccolo and his sons are revived.
