Gevo (ゲボ Gebo),[3] code name Gold,[1] is an elite Red Ribbon Army soldier and the son of the Red Ribbon Army head scientist Dr. Gero and Vomi. He is the template for Android 16.

Concept and Creation[]

He was first mentioned in an interview with the Dragon Ball manga series author, Akira Toriyama, in one of the Dragon Ball Full Color Androids Saga volumes.

Appearance[]

Gevo is identical in appearance to Android 16. In Super Hero, in his photo he is depicted wearing what appears to be a military uniform.

Personality[]

Gevo is described as being ruthless, bold, and daring during life.[1]

It is unknown whether or not he loved nature like Android 16 had or if that personality aspect is unique to 16.

Biography[]

Background[]

Gevo was a high-ranking Red Ribbon soldier code-named Gold. He fell to an enemy's bullet. In his affection, Dr. Gero modeled a powerful Android after him, Android 16. As he did not want to risk him being destroyed in battle, Gero deliberately programmed the Android to be non-aggressive.[4]

Trivia[]

  • Like his father, Gevo's name is a Japanese word to describe vomiting or spewing.
  • Before discovering that Android 16 (who was modeled after Gevo) was purely synthetic, Android 17 was under the impression that 16 (and by extension, Gevo) was a "car guy".
