"Our master Lord Slug has commandeered this planet. You are his guests now. Follow his edict and you shall live, or you can join the countless others who have tried to resist and died!" |
Angila (Angira) is a fictional character in the Dragon Ball franchise. He makes his debut (and ultimately, his only appearance) in the 1991 film Lord Slug. He bears some resemblance to and is highly modeled after Zarbon, one of Frieza's top henchmen, in terms of appearance, charisma and personality.
[edit] Biography
Angila is the strongest henchman of the titular Lord Slug, and like Piccolo, he is capable of expanding the length of his arms to unparalleled lengths. Along with Wings and Medamatcha, he locates the Dragon Balls for Lord Slug. Wings is first executed by Piccolo, and the Namekian is grabbed by Angila, who is lifted into the sky as he tries to follow Piccolo. Piccolo manages to lose Angila in the chaos, leaving Angila and Medamatcha to face Goku. After Goku furiously takes out Medamatcha, this angers Angila, who delivers a Mouth Energy Wave at Goku, only to have the ki deflected right back into Angila's mouth, causing his head to explode.
[edit] Special abilities
- Mouth Energy Wave
- Mystic Attack, the ability to extend the length of one's arms.
[edit] Trivia
- On the original cover of Lord Slug, Angila's clothing is red instead of blue, and rather than blue, his skin pigment is a light green.
- He is one of few henchmen in Dragon Ball films who is seen physically killing another person, as he can be seen taking a man's life for his Dragon Ball.
