Aya Matsui (松井亜弥 Matsui Aya) is a female screenwriter, member of the Japanese Writers Federation. She is the head writer of Dragon Ball GT, having written its series composition and scripts for eleven of its episodes.


Biography[]

Like Katsuyuki Sumisawa, Aya Matsui gratuated from Takao Koyama's school. She worked on the movies Dr. Slump and Arale-chan: Hoyoyo!! Follow the Rescued Shark..., Dr. Slump and Arale-chan: N-cha! Penguin Village is Swelling Then Fair, Dr. Slump and Arale-chan: N-cha! Love Comes From Penguin Village, and Dr. Slump and Arale-chan: N-cha!! Trembling Heart of the Summer. She also worked on Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball: The Path to Power, Dragon Ball GT, and Dragon Ball Z Kai. Aya Matsui wrote the story of the third and final side-stories based on the Dragon Ball Z anime, "The Lonely Future Warrior!! Trunks", published in the Bardock - The Father of Goku anime comic.

Outside of Akira Toriyama's manga series, Aya Matsui worked on Animal Crossing, Boys Over Flowers, Dokkiri Doctor, Eat-Man, Eiga! Tamagotchi Uchū Ichi Happy na Monogatari!?, Ghost Sweeper Mikami, Gokinjo Monogatari, H2, Henbe, Kingyo Chūihō!, Konjiki no Gash Bell!!, Let's Go! Tamagotchi, Magical Taruruuto-kun, Magical Taruruuto-kun: Suki Suki Hot Tako Yaki, Mahou no Angel Sweet Mint, Marmalade Boy, Merhen Ōkoku, Panyo Panyo Di Gi Charat, Pink Mizu Dorobou Ame Dorobou, Pipopapo Patrol-kun, Pokémon, Popolocrois Monogatari, Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva, Ranma ½, Samurai Girl Real Bout High School, Super Bikkuriman, Tico and Friends, Wild Arms - Twilight Venom, and Yume no Crayon Oukoku.
