Beerus (ビルス, Birusu) is the God of Destruction of Universe 7. He is accompanied by his martial arts teacher and attendant, Whis. Beerus' twin brother is Champa, the God of Destruction of Universe 6.

Beerus is a thin, hairless purple humanoid cat with large pointed ears, similar to Cornish Rex and sphynx cats. While somewhat shorter than Goku, Beerus' ears make him appear taller. He dons black, blue, and gold Egyptian-looking attire with the same white and orange diamond decorations as his mentor Whis. Beerus is modeled after Akira Toriyama's hairless cat, Debo.[4]
In the Super Star Guide's minicomic teasing Champa's appearance and his resemblance to Beerus, Beerus appears wearing Champa's clothing, and also being inflated by Whis to appear identical to Champa.
Personality
Beerus steps over King Vegeta
Beerus is powerful, yet lazy and playful too (like most cats). His similarities to cat-like behavior also display in his love for long sleep sessions, and in the methods he grooms himself. Beerus is always in a bad mood when he wakes up from his deep slumber, but becomes less grumpy the more he is awake. Similarly to many cats, he likes to display dominance, and will claim whatever he desires to have without much consideration for how it will affect others. He is also a gourmet, and his planet is stocked with fish and other sorts of food.[5] While he is a fearsome god, his cat-like gestures and his variety of facial expressions separate him from the more malevolent antagonists in the series.[6] He has a very indifferent behavior toward death, being the God of Destruction, and cares little to none about death and the billions, possibly trillions of lives he has taken over the years he has been the God of Destruction. He often uses the threat of destroying Earth as a means to get what he wants or as a simple warning to Whis and the other Z fighters.
However, Beerus is hotheaded and somewhat selfish, and can become easily angered over trivial matters, such as being beaten in a game of Hide-and-Seek, being served greasy food, or being denied pudding. He is also confident in his superior power, not without cause, as he proved to be the strongest opponent ever fought by the Z Fighters at the time.
In Dragon Ball Super, Beerus is seen to be more malicious than he was in the movie. He's also comically abusive towards his servants. When Oracle Fish forgot the name of Beerus' ultimate adversary, he suggests to Whis to cut his feedings from three times a day to two times a day. Beerus doesn't like it when he doesn't get the respect he deserves as a god. In the Universe 6 Saga, Beerus jokes about destroying a world using the Super Dragon Balls but has a sinister smirk when talking about it, which has Bulma suspicious and seeks to find the Super Dragon Balls before him. He also is demanding of Vegeta, saying he's his servant boy. Along with this, he doesn't care about the lives of the other fighters of Universe 6, and would consider his fighters as pawns in the tournament and barely praises Goku, Vegeta, and Piccolo's work in the tournament, as saying they did alright.
Despite his extreme power and role as God of Destruction, Beerus is surprisingly well-mannered and polite, and can be quite sociable and friendly when in a good mood; he uses exclusively polite pronouns, from the gentle-polite-masculine boku to refer to himself (much like Gohan, Trunks, Goten, and Babidi in the series) instead of the coarse-masculine ore (every other main adult-male in the series), and kimi (affectionately-polite form of "My Good Sir/Good Madame") to refer to everyone.
He appears to have a very high view of his power, as he always claims that his power completely outclasses that of Goku, Vegeta, and others, however he also denies it or claims he is still superior to many fighters even though many such as Goku, Vegeta, Whis, and when Gowasu say that certain warriors rival his power.
Due to his power and position, he is somewhat fearless, as there are very few who can match his power, let alone capable of killing him in combat. Beerus is not hesitant to kill other lifeforms, even his rival, Goku, as he threatened to Destroy Goku, if he got involved with the Omni-King. However, he is shown to be terrified of Zen-Oh, in a manner very similar to how the Kais and other gods are scared of Beerus himself. Due to his life link to the Shin, the only active Supreme Kai of Universe 7, Beerus has a strong desire to prevent his death, as it would cause Beerus himself to die as well. Although he is the God of Destruction and has destroyed several things, he also was demonstrated to have limits as to the kind of destruction he would condone, as he was shown to be very angry at Goku for his role in the two Zen-Ohs' Tournament of Power during the Universe Survival Saga, which would have resulted in the losing universes being erased from existence, and also held enough disgust with Zamasu's Zero Mortals Plan that he immediately erased the present-day Zamasu when the latter was exposed.
In Dragon Ball: Xenoverse after faking to be controlled by Demigra's Dark Magic due to being as a god, Beerus noted he would enjoy destroying Demigra because he "seems like an evil guy", and also out of revenge, considering Demigra's attempt to control him a blasphemous action that deserved punishment. Beerus also enjoys fighting strong opponents, as he looks forward to Goku, Vegeta and the Future Warrior becoming stronger. He also encourages the Future Warrior to see if they have a skill that can defeat him.
In Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, Beerus is taken aback when Mira has the audacity to tell him to be quiet when he arrives to save the Masked Saiyan after Future Warrior (Xenoverse 2) chases him to Age 778 during Beerus' fight with Super Saiyan God Goku. However instead of destroying Mira, Beerus is impressed by his lack of fear, as it had been awhile since a mortal had the courage to talk back to him and allows Mira to fight the Future Warrior without interference. However as the fight drags on, Beerus loses his patience and threatens to destroy everyone present, though is stopped when Chronoa sends him a box full of pudding cups which calms the God of Destruction, to the point he even offers Mira and the Masked Saiyan some pudding, which causes the pair to leave as Mira considers Beerus' friendly attitude a buzz-kill. However as the pudding was made by Chronoa herself who is notorious for her poor cooking skills, Beerus is enraged at how horrible it was forcing Whis and the Future Warrior to subdue him as Goku is incapacitated by stomach cramps after eating some of the pudding. Beerus eventually calms down and refuses to eat anymore of Chronoa's cooking when she suggests making it up to him. While eating his sundae with Whis in Age 779 during Frieza's revenge, Whis and Beerus are contacted by Chronoa who informs them that Towa and Mira are attacking the Time Nest and asks for Beerus' assistance by offering cream puffs, which she claims were made by Future Trunks to alleviate Beerus' concerns that she made them. However Beerus is furious when he and Whis arrive at the Time Nest and discover that they were deceived by Towa who had hacked into the Time Nest's communications and pretended to be Chronoa to lure Beerus and Whis from Age 779, preventing Whis from assisting Goku like in the original history, causing Goku and all of his friends saved by Whis to die when Frieza uses his Earth Breaker to destroy the Earth. Like with Demigra, Beerus is outraged by Towa's blasphemous act of deceiving him in such a manner and demands to know where she is so he can destroy the Demon Scientist, though like in Xenoverse he later decides to leave her defeat to the Time Patrol as he is impressed by the new Future Warrior's power after they manage to best Whis in a sparring session which Beerus was forced to leave after Whis drew his symbol on Beerus' forehead. Also despite his past history with Elder Kai whom he had sealed within the Z Sword, Beerus is for the most part civil towards Elder Kai, though threatens to destroy him when he tests Beerus' patience when Elder Kai still holds a grudge for being sealed while complaining to himself loud enough that Beerus can hear him, though Whis manages to defuse the situation with food.
Biography
Background
Out of the many gods in the universe, Beerus is the most feared.[7] He is feared by the Kais, the Supreme Kais, King Cold, Frieza, King Vegeta, Vegeta, and even Shenron himself. As a God of Destruction, he is tasked with maintaining balance in the universe.[8] Beerus is the God of Destruction of Universe 7, and his administrative zone includes planet Earth. He slumbers for several years to several decades straight, and he destroys planets in his administrative zone during the few years when he is awake.[2] This is because destruction is required in order to create new planets,[5] but he does not act on the Supreme Kais' orders;[2] the god destroys according to his own judgment. Also, because he is quite capricious, Beerus destroys even important planets without a second thought. When he finds it bothersome, he lets someone else act as an agent of destruction. While he is awake, tense days for the Supreme Kais continue, as nobody knows how many planets will be sacrificed.[2]
Beerus with the Oracle Fish
Having existed for hundreds of millions of years, at some point in time Beerus was trained in martial arts by Whis. Once every 1,000 years, the Supreme Kais and the Gods of Destruction go to each other's realms and hold a coordination meeting. During one of these meetings held 75 Million Before Age, they got into an argument over some trifling situation, and the short-tempered Beerus sealed the Supreme Kai at the time away inside the Z Sword, as it would not have been proper for him to destroy the Sacred World of the Kais itself.[9] Once, he stopped by the Time Nest and met Chronoa, the Supreme Kai of Time.[3] Another day, he stopped by King Kai's planet, which was larger at the time. He and King Kai played hide-and-seek (or a car-racing video game depending on the version),[10] and Beerus lost, so the planet was destroyed by the peeved Destroyer. King Kai then took a large leftover fragment, whittled it down to a sphere, and built a road on it so that he could have fun driving there. This became King Kai's current planet.[10] In "Showdown on King Kai's Planet! Goku vs. God of Destruction Beerus", Beerus says that he made his planet smaller because he didn't like the food.
One time on Beerus' birthday, he ate the only Puff-Puff fruit that was on his cake. Champa got furious because Beerus ate it and it was his birthday but Beerus says it's his too. Both Beerus and Champa fought throughout the universe, destroying multiple planets. The two are eventually stopped by their attendants because their destruction could lead to the end of the universe, but both Beerus and Champa established they did not care. Beerus and Champa have an agreement not to have fighting showdowns, but rather have food showdowns instead.

One time when Beerus woke up, he sneezed and blew up of two of his world's Suns, causing Whis to re-do time preventing him from doing it again. At some point in time Beerus met Frieza. The two got along fairly well as they both enjoyed destroying things. However one time Frieza got carried away and caused Beerus to get angry, with Beerus fighting Frieza and easily defeating the tyrant.[11] Beerus also claims that he once went to Earth, and dinosaurs took a rude attitude toward him, so he wiped them out.[12] Another day, King Vegeta treated Beerus and Whis to a feast in his palace on Planet Vegeta and Beerus used the Saiyan King as a footrest while he was eating. Prince Vegeta, who was just a child at that time, saw this and became upset, but remained silent. In Dragon Ball Super, Beerus punished King Vegeta because he gave him the second best pillow in the universe but wanted the first which King Vegeta took, this resulted in him greatly injuring the king, and easily defeating Prince Vegeta - who attempted to attack the god. Before going to sleep, Beerus ordered Frieza to destroy Planet Vegeta because they annoyed him.
In Age 739, Beerus is told a prophecy by the Oracle Fish that in thirty-nine years, he would face an opponent that would excite him called, the Super Saiyan God. After he is told this, Beerus goes to sleep.

Beerus has awoken from thirty-nine years of slumber and in the anime is joined by Whis visiting a planet inhabited by hog-like humanoids. Beerus investigates most of his food they presented him by just touching it and sniffing it as well; He forgets his manners as pointed out by Whis. Beerus asks about a drink they brought him. Beerus finds the drink good but it has too much fat content. After deciding, Beerus destroys half the planet with a mere tap on the table. Beerus and Whis are in space, and Whis questions Beerus's decision but Beerus says that too much fat is bad.

While waiting for dinosaur meat on his planet, Beerus tries to remember his dream of a warrior who he can't seem to remember. He gets impatient after waiting 2 minutes and 20 seconds, and goes to Whis on another planet, who had 40 seconds left, and encounters the leader, who wouldn't give up the dinosaur meat and transforms to combat Beerus. Beerus effortlessly blocks the leader's punches with one finger and dodges all of its blasts. The leader shoots a fire ball at Beerus but Beerus catches and throws it back at him. While Leader is unconscious, Beerus decides the dinosaur meat wasn't going to be as good as he thought and destroys the planet with a small ki ball. As he and Whis were watching the planet's destruction, Beerus sees a silhouette of the warrior from his dream and starts to remember the name of the powerful warrior who could entertain him endlessly. Beerus thinks he remembers the name and tells Whis the name was Super Saiyan God but isn't sure of it. Whis has never heard of Super Saiyan God and suggests to return to their planet to eat and try to remember in the process.
In the manga events transpire slightly differently, instead of being shown visiting multiple planets Beerus instead goes to one planet, which has insectoid natives. When Beerus is having his meal on the planet he finds that the drink they have given him is poisoned - though this does nothing to the god - the insectoids then attempt to attack Beerus with their crossbows, but he easily destroys the entire planet with a finger beam. As they are floating in space watching the planet's destruction Beerus notes that one of the dishes he had "Soup Yasi Jinkot" remined him of a prophetic dream he had of the "Super Saiyan God", and so he and Whis head back to Beerus' planet so he can try and remember better.

On the way back to his planet, Beerus continues to remember the name of the figure and starts to want something sweet for thinking so long. Whis has something special for the two on the way back in the fridge. After traveling so long, Beerus starts to question Whis' speed but is reminded that Whis is the fastest in the universe. Once they arrive, Beerus summons the Oracle Fish to remember the warrior of his dream. Oracle Fish seems to not remember and was threatened by Beerus to remember or she will get fed two times instead of three. After hearing this, the Oracle Fish remembered and called it Super Saiyan God, which confirms Beerus' dream. Beerus was told by Whis that the Super Saiyan God doesn't exist and wonders if the Saiyans knew but he remembered he told Frieza to destroy Planet Vegeta because the Saiyans made him mad.

While taking a bath, Whis tells Beerus that a few Saiyans survived the genocide, all living on Earth. He also mentions that Frieza was defeated by a Saiyan known as Goku who could go Super Saiyan. Beerus seeks to find Goku, who currently is training on King Kai's planet to confront him about the Super Saiyan God transformation. Beerus and Whis make their way to King Kai's planet, taking 26 minutes, as they have planned to eat grilled salmon on the way there. Mentioned by Old Kai, since Beerus' awakening, he's destroyed eight and one-half of the universes' planets. On his way to King Kai's world, Beerus is displeased by the food Whis packed for him, saying that he was tired of the food he was eating, even though he had it once 160 years before when he destroyed Planet Monser. He was told by Whis to finish his food, because they'd arrive of King Kai's planet in 10 minutes. After that time, he arrived on King Kai's planet, striking fear into King Kai.
When Beerus meets Goku, he questions whether or not he is the Super Saiyan God from his dream. Goku immediately challenges him to a sparring match, but is unable to land a single hit on the god of destruction. Beerus then counters by flicking Goku in the forehead, then immediately knocks him down with a pressure-point jab in the shoulder. He then teleports with Whis to find Vegeta at Bulma's birthday party.

Upon arriving on Earth, Beerus sees Vegeta and starts messing with him by appearing and disappearing. Beerus stops and tells Vegeta that he remembers him since he was a child but Vegeta doesn't until he is paralyzed by Beerus which takes him back and remembers who Beerus is. Beerus asks Vegeta if he knows of the Super Saiyan God which comes to Vegeta's surprise. Bulma comes and greets Beerus and Whis and invites them to her party. Beerus and Whis greet the other attendees of the party. Beerus is approached by Yamcha and was told that he is the strongest and slaps his back. Krillin shows up and offers Beerus Russian Octopus Balls, balls of octopus but one is full of wasabi. Beerus takes one and enjoys it even though his doesn't contain the wasabi.

Beerus still seeks out the Super Saiyan God but Whis told him that most of the Saiyans are children and Goku and Vegeta are the only pure-blooded Saiyans. Vegeta arrives and brings more Russian Octopus Balls even Beerus is getting full and annoyed. He asks Vegeta about his relationship with Goku and was told that he is his rival. Before eating a Russian Octopus Ball, Trunks strikes Beerus with water from his water gun. Whis asks Beerus if he's angry, and replies that he's not angry, he is super angry. Beerus gets furious and attempts to blow up the Earth but Vegeta calms him down by causing a scene: diving into the ocean and blasting an octopus, and starts making more Octopus Balls. Beerus calms down and hears of pudding by Whis.
Beerus and Whis encounter Mr. Satan and Majin Buu at a table who has the rest of the pudding. Whis asks Majin Buu for pudding for both him and Beerus but Majin Buu refuses. Beerus gets angry with Majin Buu and they begin to fight. Beerus attacks Majin Buu and blasts him into the ocean. Gotenks steps up and was easily beaten by Beerus by just getting tapped on the forearm. In the manga, Gotenks goes Super Saiyan 3 and was thrown into the ocean. Beerus was then challenged by Piccolo, Android 18, and Tien Shinhan. He dodges all of their attacks with ease and uses a kiai which takes them out. Majin Buu gets back up and challenges Beerus again. Gohan charges up and attempts to help but Beerus hits Majin Buu into Gohan. Beerus is lastly engaged by Super Saiyan Vegeta. Beerus merely paralyzes Vegeta and throws him to the ground. Beerus compares Vegeta's weakness to him father while he smashes his head to the deck of the ship. Beerus then gathers energy for a finger beam and was approached by Bulma, and gets slapped by her. However, Beerus smiles at her, and he slaps Bulma back, angering Vegeta.
Beerus is challenged by Super Saiyan 2 Vegeta and gets punched. Vegeta is however not down and continues to get hits on Beerus. Vegeta is attacking Beerus throughout the ocean and gets blasted with a Galick Gun. Beerus is not hurt by Vegeta's attack but told him that he hasn't used 10% of his power in a long time. Beerus then flicks Vegeta, making him fall to the ground. Beerus is ready to destroy the Earth but doesn't know if he should, due to the fact that Earth has pleasing food and wants to eat it. Bulma tells Beerus not to blow up the Earth and he gives them one chance to redeem themselves. Beerus scouts and then chooses Oolong for a game of rock-paper-scissors because he thinks he is the same race as Majin Buu.

Oolong hesitated challenging Beerus because the fate of the Earth is in his hands. Beerus declares that if he doesn't play, he'll destroy the Earth anyway. Beerus and Oolong play and they both tie the first to two times with scissors. Beerus thinks that Oolong is cheating but Oolong says that he can't be if he didn't win. For the third time, Beerus wins using rock and Oolong uses scissors for the third time. Beerus gets excited and gets ready to destroy the Earth. Whis brings the take outs of sushi he promised Beerus. Beerus creates an energy sphere and is ready to launch it but Goku shows up and asks Beerus for time to bring the Super Saiyan God.
Goku summons Shenron using the Dragon Balls and asks if he knows of the Super Saiyan God. Goku also mentions Beerus, who scares Shenron. Beerus is greeted by Shenron and tells him to summon the Super Saiyan God. Shenron however tells him how to make the form by doing a ritual using five righteous Saiyans flowing their energy into one other. When Shenron finishes, Beerus rushes the Saiyans to get started. After the first failed attempt by a miscalculation, Beerus wants to destroy the Earth but is told by Videl that there is a sixth Saiyan and she is pregnant. Gohan is excited and uses Videl in the ritual. After it doesn't work again, they start focusing their spirit into each other and it starts to work. While the ritual is close to finishing, Beerus sees the Super Saiyan God silhouette in resemblance to Goku. After Goku has transformed, Beerus applauds Goku and they are both excited to fight.

Beerus and Goku are ready to fight so they fly into the clouds. Beerus requests Goku to show him the full power of a Super Saiyan God. Beerus understands that Goku hasn't fully adjusted to the power which makes Beerus not want to move when Goku attacked. Beerus wants Goku to use more of his power so which Goku charges a Kamehameha. Beerus easily vanishes away from Goku's technique. Goku's move is appreciated by Beerus. After being suggested by Goku to actually fight, Beerus tells him that no one in the universe is stronger than him. The two and Beerus easily blocks Goku's moves and begins to punch Goku too, which makes him flying away to rethink. Beerus catches up due to having more speed and after Goku tried to punch Beerus, he counters and punches him back, sending Goku into the ocean. Goku rushes back to attack but Beerus continues to move at an intense speed to get hits on Goku making his arm burn. They both want to continue the fight but higher in the atmosphere. More punches are exchanged by Beerus but are not connecting because Goku has adjusted to his power and is gaining the ability to see them. After being hit by Goku, Beerus launches a sphere ball but it, however, was deflected. Punch after punch was given by Goku but is being blocked but one scratches Beerus' face and Goku jokingly flicks and chops Beerus to get even. Beerus is tired of playing around and wants to begin a serious battle between gods.

Beerus and Goku charge at each other and Beerus gets rapidly punched by Goku and is knocked into the clouds. However, this does not faze Beerus so he returns the favor to Goku. Beerus and Goku throw several attacks at each other. Goku notices that Beerus is using much of his power. While Goku was speaking to him, Beerus is finished talking and attacks him. The leads them landing on an island. Beerus is tired of fighting Goku and sends him off into space.

Beerus has a technique that could destroy the Earth if Goku isn't careful. Beerus launches an attack toward Earth, similar to an atom, but it gets blown up by Goku. Beerus creates more of these and fires them away. They all get blown up, however, by a Kamehameha. Beerus seems to think that Goku isn't one who he was looking for, while punching his hand through his abdomen. Beerus' moves sends Goku falling toward the Earth, into the ocean. Goku comes back and tells Beerus that Super Saiyan God hasn't reached its limits yet and he has more power to show. Beerus claims that he has more power too.
As they see Bulma and co. in the ship, Beerus and Goku decide to go higher in Earth's atmosphere. As they were rising, Beerus gets behind Goku to redo the chop to the neck trick he did previous, but Goku catches his hand before he could do so. Beerus and Goku begin to raise their ki and charge at each other like comets; they both collide punches that cause waves to flow throughout the universe. Beerus and Goku do this two times and are asked by Kibito Kai to cease because they could destroy the universe, but they continue anyway.
The third one they do, Goku hits Beerus with the same amount of force and the same angle, which doesn't cause destruction upon the universe. At another attempt, Goku still does the same to not destroy the universe. They start throwing punches and kicks at each other. Beerus then fires Goku an atomic like energy move so Goku counters with a Kamehameha. After moments of the collision struggle, a beam of light occurs throughout the universe. The beam the two created made a ki ball.
Beerus is able to hold his own in the collision. The collision is causing disasters on Earth and rifts throughout the universe again. This collision eventually explodes afterwards. Beerus claims that he nullified the energy and used up 100% of his power to do so. He then gets furious that he could possibly lose the fight and exerting his power. Beerus and Goku get close to each other to touch fist. Beerus quickly attacks Goku after he does so. Goku also gets some blows in but eventually is not able to keep up for a moment but of his time limit in Super Saiyan God and reverted into Super Saiyan.

Beerus is dodging Goku's attacks until he gets hit. Beerus is wondering why he was able to hit him and figures out that Goku is able to because he absorbed Super Saiyan Gods's power into his own. They both continue their brawl. Beerus and Goku find their fight on the way back to Earth. Beerus and Goku are hitting each other with extrude force. Beerus becomes disappointed in Goku because he expected more. Beerus clones himself and fires an atomic bomb at Goku. He thinks he won but Goku charges at him and they both go back to space. Beerus tells Goku tell he thought of regretting being obsessed with the prophecy of the Super Saiyan God. Beerus has decided to beat Goku with the way they started, a flick to the forehead. However Goku ruined Beerus' "cool ending" by returning to continue fighting.
While Goku is in the process of charging a Kamehameha, Beerus is charging an atomic bomb as they both fire it at each other. The collision of the two attacks creates a Sphere of Destruction. Beerus has Goku struggling to push back the sphere, so Goku decides to blow up the energy sphere by punching it. However Goku ends up running out of power at this point, so he falls down to Earth and Beerus follows. Beerus is ready to destroy the Earth, but in the process, Beerus falls asleep so he doesn't blow up the Earth. Beerus is taken by Whis back to his planet. Beerus is figured out by Whis and was told that he didn't use 100% of his power and told Goku that because he wanted to see his potential.
Beerus returns shortly after to tell Goku that he's the second strongest he's ever faced, then he immediately leaves again.[13]
Golden Frieza Saga
Main article: Golden Frieza Saga After Beerus fought with Goku, Beerus goes back to sleep. When Vegeta and Goku come in to change his sheets, Beerus attacks Goku several times while he's sleeping.

Four months later, Beerus eventually wakes up when Goku and Vegeta were sparring and sneezed a ki blast when a butterfly was fluttering past his nose while Goku, Vegeta, and Whis are training, resulting in one of the moons being destroyed. Beerus questions Goku and Vegeta on how they got here and why they want to train with Whis, and then questions Whis on what he brought for him. Beerus then figures out that Whis has been visiting Earth but he tells him that he only went to Earth to be a food taster for Beerus as he tells him that there are delicious foods on Earth.
Beerus is watching Goku and Vegeta spar with each other. When their match has been stopped by Whis, Beerus suggests and orders Whis to send them to them to "that place" to get stronger. Beerus is devouring pizza while Goku and Vegeta are training. Beerus is asked by Whis if it was too soon to send Goku and Vegeta to "that place" but he says that they'll be fine because they need to be pushed to become stronger. He also says that he needs Goku and Vegeta to get stronger so he could play with them. As Goku and Vegeta are training by themselves in "that place", Beerus was seen eating pizza while sitting on a chair, eventually eating them all up. He then ask Whis to get him more but Whis said there aren't any left, making Beerus annoyed for a second.
Seeing this, Whis then told Beerus that he does have some extra pizza but are unavailable because he needs his staff to get it and the staff is with Goku and Vegeta, and Whis questioned Beerus that he already forgot that it was his decision that to sent Goku and Vegeta to that place, however Beerus denied it. Right after that, Beerus commented that his meal is more important so Whis transported Goku and Vegeta back along with his staff. Unexpectedly, a heap of empty pizza boxes fell onto Beerus and Goku told Whis that it was those pizzas which came out from his staff saved them from starving. After hearing this, Beerus then angrily jumps out from the pizza box pile, shouting to Goku and Vegeta how dare they eat all his pizzas. Much to his surprise, Goku and Vegeta then decided to run away and hide in the forest but Beerus decided to chase them.
During the chase, Goku told Beerus that he and Vegeta had no idea and Vegeta said it was stupid of Beerus for sending him and Goku to that place, Beerus immediately scolded Vegeta that he should watch his tone since he is talking to a God of Destruction. Beerus hears of a strawberry parfait when Whis gets in contact with Bulma. As Goku and Vegeta are heading to Earth using Instant Transmission, Beerus and Whis watch them teleport away.
Beerus and Whis leave his planet to travel to Earth so they can eat the sundae that Bulma prepared for them. Once they get four minutes from Earth, Whis stops warping and notices Champa and Vados in universe seven. Beerus says it's no business for the God of Destruction from the sixth universe to be in the seventh. Beerus believes that Champa is trying to steal his food but Champa claims that he's just visiting. Beerus thinks he is lying with his statements so he wants to fight him, but Champa insists that Vados should do so because he's lazy. However, she doesn't but they continue their "visit" in the seventh universe. Beerus and Whis watch as Champa and Vados leave and Beerus questions it, saying they're being suspicious.
As soon as they reach Earth, Beerus immediately asks for the sundae and also threatens the Earth's safety if he doesn't receive it. Beerus and Whis then receive the sundae Bulma brought with her. They go on to enjoy the sundae while watching Goku and Golden Frieza fight. Beerus is impressed by Frieza's improvements and notices that Goku is having a hard time keeping up. Beerus is eating the sundae when he is pointed out by Frieza, who is shocked to see him. Beerus is continuously asked by Frieza if he was planning to interfere with his revenge but Beerus says he's only there to eat the sundae any and does not plan to interfere with any match because he's the God of Destruction. He tells Bulma if she, along with the others, wants to live, they should be next to him because he'll protect his ice cream.
Universe 6 Saga
Main article: Universe 6 Saga Beerus is asleep on his planet until Whis is told by Champa to wake him up. Beerus is annoyed and wonders what Champa and Vados wanted. He is challenged to a brotherly battle of foods. Beerus presents Champa noodles and Champa brings an egg from his universe. Champa is curious of Beerus' choice and asks him where he received it. He is told that he got it from Earth and Champa realizes that his universe has an Earth but humanity was wiped out due to war. Champa offers a tournament between their universes of five fighters from their universes in exchange of Earths.
After Whis explains why Beerus and Champa don't fight each other anymore, they discuss the details for the tournament. The rules will be the same as the Tenkaichi Budokai and will be in five Earth days on the Nameless Planet at 10 a.m. If Champa won, he will use the Super Dragon Balls to switch the universes' Earths. If Beerus won, he will give him the six Dragon Balls he collected but Beerus has to find the last one on his own. Beerus' team is a team captain and his team results in Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, Buu, and the strongest person he's ever faced. Vegeta and Goku go to Earth to get Bulma to invent a new Dragon Radar.
On the day of the tournament, everyone is on a spaceship being taken to the Nameless Planet by Whis. Beerus is angry that Champa has previously invaded his universe to gather Super Dragon Balls. Vegeta notices that there's a new attendee in the ship, who Whis says he's the strongest warrior Beerus has ever faced, Monaka. When Monaka mentions that his name means "large nipples", Beerus says that it is unneeded. The group starts playing Shiritori while waiting to arrive on the planet. When it is Beerus' turn to say a word, he says a word that ends with n.
Upon the arrival at the Nameless Planet, Beerus shouts at Champa for stealing the Super Dragon Balls from his universe. He, however, lets it slide because they're brothers. The first round is between Goku and Universe 6's Botamo. After a short-lived battle, Goku beats Botamo due to a ring out. The next fighter for Universe 6 is Frost. Frost wins the match with an unknown technique. Beerus is mad at Goku because he lost to Frost and he could've beaten him easily but Goku thought Super Saiyan was enough for Frost. Beerus continuously gets teased by Champa because is winning and Beerus is losing. The matches continue with Piccolo as the next fighter for Universe 7. Piccolo loses to Frost but Jaco objects saying Frost is cheating by using a needle. Beerus insists that the referee check Frost, even if Jaco was wrong and he didn't care if Champa destroyed him if he was lying. It is revealed that Frost cheated by using a needle, which makes him disqualified but Vegeta insists that he fight Frost and beat him with his hands.
Vegeta transforms into a Super Saiyan and easily beats Frost with one blow. Beerus is asked by Goku if he could rejoin the tournament because he was a victim of Frost using the needle. Beerus checks Goku's body for a mark from Frost and he does, allowing Goku to reenter the matches. Goku wants to go after Monaka but Beerus is reluctant, as he wants Monaka to fight last because he's the strongest. Whis asks Beerus if he should reveal his true identity but Beerus says after it's over. He then shields Monaka, who is unconscious from seeing Goku's Kamehameha, from speaking with Goku and he tells him that if Monaka is disturbed while meditating, he will destroy that person regardless if it was a friend or foe and he destroyed a planet this way. Hearing this, Goku leaves Monaka alone for the moment which has Beerus relieved.
As the tournament draws to a close Beerus watches as Champa threatens to destroy his whole team, and while congratulating Goku, however, he warns him about Champa is Universe 6 Gods of Destruction and he can't defeat him yet. He is advised by Whis a moment later that Zen-Oh has arrived, causing Beerus to break out in a scream while sweating.
Beerus and Champa flustered from Zen-Oh's presence
While Beerus is completely shocked with Zen-Oh's arrival, Vegeta asks who the "shorty" is, and Beerus tells him that he is the ruler of the 12 universes, much to the shock of Vegeta and Piccolo. A few short moments after Zeno arrives, Beerus goes down to the arena with Whis, and Champa does the same with Vados coming with him. Beerus and Champa then welcome Zen-Oh, with the Supreme Kais following suit. Zen-Oh then tells everyone the reason he came to the tournament was because Beerus and Champa were skipping their jobs as Gods of Destruction. Whis then takes the opportunity to notes all of the very lazy and irresponsible things he does as a God of Destruction, such as caring more about sleeping and consuming food than destroying planets. Vado then notes that Champa is very unhealthy, which affects his job as God of Destruction, and so Vados attempts to make a healthy meal plan for Champa, but Champa tells her the food she prepares tastes "really, really, really bad". Zen-Oh then suggests he should appoint new Gods of Destruction, to Beerus and Champa's complete fear and surprise, but then Zen-Oh notes it was a joke. When Goku attempts to shake Zen-Oh's hand, Beerus is filled with fear and worry that Goku will mess up with speaking so casually, and even more worried when Goku lifts Zen-Oh off his feet. Beerus is then relieved when Zen-Oh returns to his home. Beerus makes the wish with the Super Dragon Balls, wishing for Universe 6's Earth along with the Earthlings to be restored, allowing Champa to be able to eat Earth's good food. Beerus then says that he only did this so Champa would be in his debt. Upon arriving back to Beerus' planet, he secretly puts treasure in Monaka's delivery truck, which was his compensation for his acting, and tells him that he will use him again in the future. He stays as Whis takes the Z-Fighters back to Earth.
Beerus is invited along with Whis to Bulma's Universe 7 victory party. They tell her that they will invite Monaka, but they do not plan to. They arrive to Earth to see Monaka already there, having done a delivery to them, and is worried that Goku will realize Monaka is weak. Beerus instructs everyone to keep Monaka's secret safe from Goku, who constantly asks Monaka to fight him. Eventually, Beerus is forced to fight Goku wearing a life-size Monaka costume, and throughout the fight he must hold back enough so the costume would not rip. Vegeta and Piccolo try to intervene in his favor, but Beerus pushes them back, and grows excited from the fight, having not fought in a while due to spectating the entire tournament. "Monaka" and Goku are eventually stopped by Whis, who tells them they are about to deal massive damage to the surrounding area. At the end of the day, the secret is protected.
"Future" Trunks Saga

Beerus along with Whis, Goku and Vegeta, are eating ramen on Beerus' planet when Whis gets a distress call from Bulma, informing Goku and Vegeta of Future Trunks' return. When the two teleport to Earth, Beerus and Whis accompany them. Upon meeting Future Trunks, Beerus realizes that he is the younger Trunks from the future, and he and Whis deduce that the humans have been manipulating time, calling it a serious offense. Beerus says they must be destroyed, but Future Trunks begs Whis (thinking he is the God) not to, not before being directed to Beerus. Beerus and Whis let it slide when Bulma feeds them fish sausages.

Beerus watches Future Trunks' sparring match with Goku, impressed at his strength. When Goku Black appeared, Beerus and Whis take note of the Time Ring he is wearing, which only a Supreme Kai possessed. Beerus is also quick to point out that Goku Black is not Goku as his Ki is very different and strange. Later Beerus reveals he has felt that ki before but isn't able to place it. He later goes to Universe 10 with Whis and Goku because he has an idea of Black's true identity, a Supreme Kai apprentice named Zamasu. When Beerus, Whis, and Goku land on the Universe 10's Supreme Kai's realm Beerus and Whis tell Gowasu about Black and that he did have a Time-Ring. Gowasu seems surprised at this and Beerus tells him he looks a lot like Goku. Beerus asks Gowasu that if he has all the Time-Rings present and Gowasu says yes. However, Beerus wants to see that for himself and Gowasu shows the Time-Rings to Beerus in the temple. When Gowasu allows Zamasu to fight Goku, he tells him he should hold back. Beerus tells Zamasu and Gowasu if Zamasu should hold back, his life would be taken. It is shown that Beerus and Whis were paying close attention to the battle with Goku and Zamasu. When Zamasu's ki was similar to Black's ki (probably because he let his emotions flow), both Beerus and Whis felt it. When Goku ended the match, Beerus tells Goku that they are going home. While they are going back, Whis says there is enough evidence to prove Zamasu is Black. Beerus says that he should have destroyed him while he had the chance, but Goku thought he was nice. In return, Beerus says he is too trusting. After, Whis is cooking Stir-Fry on Beerus's planet. Whis's staff goes off and Whis asks Beerus to answer it for him. Beerus says that they were busy and to call later. Suddenly the staff floats over to the middle of the table and Zen-Oh appears before him. Beerus quickly bows before Zen-Oh smashing his head through the side of his table in the process. Whis appears beside Beerus and greets Zen-Oh. Zen-Oh tells Beerus and Whis that he wants to meet Goku.
Beerus goes catatonic upon hearing Goku call Zen-Oh "Zen-chan"
When Goku appears on Beerus' planet, Beerus holding him and hurriedly explains the seriousness of heeding a call from Zen-Oh. When it is suggested that Shin take Goku to Zen-Oh since it would take Whis two days, Beerus charges Whis with protecting Shin, to which Goku expresses surprise. Whis explains that Shin and Beerus are life-linked so if one dies, so will the other. Beerus is angered at Goku knowing this information, but Goku seems not to care. He is not seen until Whis and Goku return from Zen-Oh's Palace, where he falls over upon hearing about Goku's naming Zen-Oh "Zen-chan".
Beerus and Whis then appear on Earth with Shin to tell Goku and the others about Zamasu visiting Zuno. After Goku and the others tell them about their fight in the future Whis then comes up with some theories about Black's origin and how Zamasu became immortal. Whis suspects that Black is a copy of Goku created by the Super Dragon Balls that Zamasu wished for. Beerus then said that Zamasu used the Time Ring to go forward in time to one year, gathered the Balls again and then wished for immortality. They then suspect that Zamasu kills Gowasu so he can steal the Time Ring. Goku, Whis, Beerus, and Shin then head back to Universe 10 to make sure Gowasu is okay. When they arrive they are greeted by Zamasu and Gowasu.
After their conversation, the Universe 7 group leave Universe 10, but stop after some distance, talking about Zamasu's obvious killing intent. Whis projects a view of them and the group watches their actions. Eventually, Zamasu ends up killing Gowasu, and Whis uses his Temporal Do-Over to rewind time to right before it happens, intercepting Zamasu's attack with a glove he created. With the right evidence, Beerus and the group explain to Gowasu about Zamasu's intent to kill him and his plans. Zamasu, cornered, prepares to attack, but Beerus effortlessly intercepts his attack and destroys him in an instant.
Beerus then returns to Earth along with Whis and Goku, informing Future Trunks and the others of Zamasu's demise, and that Black should be gone as well as a god eliminated would affect the time stream, thus rending the future peaceful again. However, Beerus feels frustrated that Future Trunks doesn't believe him and decides to head to the future to check things out. After Future Trunks tells Trunks his knowledge about timelines, Beerus agreed to let Future Trunks return to the future to check over the situation with the latter simply told them that he doesn't care what happens in the future, whether is it peaceful or not. He later witnesses the departure of Future Trunks and the others to the future with Whis telling Beerus to remain at Capsule Corporation in order to wait for the answer that Goku and compagny will give them concerning the future.
Eventually, Goku, Vegeta and Bulma return to their own world, with Future Trunks' not with them, kid Trunks and the Pilaf Gang assumed that the future is safe, Beerus, who along with Whis are eating ice cream, proudly tells them that they should have faith in his power. However, he was stunned to hear from Bulma that the future remained the same as it was thanks to Black and Future Zamasu's actions. Avoiding to take responsibilites, Beerus denies the events that are happening in the future, which angers further Bulma and was about to slap him until Vegeta stops her from doing that. Vegeta immediately explains the whole situaton to Beerus and Whis about how the Supreme Kais were all killed by the evil duo in Trunks's future and how Zamasu from the unaltered time stream stole Goku's body to become Goku Black. With the mysteries all solved and his curiosity satisfied, Beerus decides to head back home along with Whis, not caring about the situation as he eliminated Zamasu of the main timeline.
Later, Beerus and Whis head to Universe 10, telling Gowasu about the whole situation, with Whis telling Gowasu that Beerus feels a huge amount of responsibility as the future didn't change. Beerus tell them that he can easily destroy Zamasu if he goes to the future but as a God of Destruction he can't cross the time stream, leaving his hands tied, Gowasu agress to do something about that matter as what happens in the future is own responsibility.
After the two iterations of Zamasu is erased from existence for good at cost of Future Trunks' timeline by Future Zen-Oh, but leaving Future Trunks and Future Mai as the only survivors who are saved and brought to the present safely by Goku, Bulma, Vegeta, Gowasu and Shin, Beerus advises Gowasu to be careful on choosing an apprentice next time. After Goku and Future Trunks returns from the now destroyed Future Trunks's timeline and bringing Future Zen-Oh safely from being alone, Beerus is surprised to see him, even thought this Zen-Oh is from the future. Later that night, Whis informed Future Trunks and Future Mai that he will go a point in their timeline's past before Goku Black's arrival and have Future Beerus take care of Future Zamasu. Beerus warns Whis of tampering with time, though Whis counters that Beerus is being a hypocrite as his destruction of Zamasu had created a new Time Ring, so he shouldn't be judging. Beerus, realizing Whis was right, then says it's a good idea.

Four years after the defeat of Kid Buu, alarm bombs explode, but Beerus does not wake up. Whis tells him to get up and he says he will sing with a microphone if Beerus keeps sleeping. Since Whis is terrible at singing, Beerus eventually awakens from his long slumber and takes a bath. At his early feast, Beerus asks Whis whether the galactic overlord Frieza destroyed Planet Vegeta during his nap, saying the Saiyans and Frieza were very evil and King Vegeta was stingy. Despite the fact that Planet Vegeta was destroyed two years before Beerus went to sleep, he was unaware of it until he was informed of it by Whis. Whis then tells Beerus that Frieza was defeated by "a Saiyan known as Goku or Kakarot," and uses his scepter like a projector to show the past battle between Goku and Frieza on Namek. Next, Beerus touches an egg and destroys it. When Whis explains about Super Saiyans and some Saiyans including Prince Vegeta living on Earth, Beerus recalls his dream about him fighting with the Super Saiyan God and he then calls the Oracle Fish. The Oracle Fish does not remember it, but Beerus is convinced that it said so. Since he heard rumors that a Saiyan defeated Frieza, Beerus tracks down this warrior, Goku, on King Kai's planet.
When he arrives on the planet, the God of Destruction complains that King Kai's planet is so small, but Whis reminds him that he is the reason it is so small for destroying it when getting mad after losing at hide-and-seek. Beerus questions Goku and King Kai about the Super Saiyan God. After the two saying that they've never heard of a Super Saiyan God, Beerus wanted to visit Earth to see if the others know of a Super Saiyan God. Goku then asks to challenge Beerus to a fight. Beerus accepts Goku's challenge and agrees not to destroy the planet if he got angry. Goku begins by demonstrating the various Super Saiyan forms he can achieve. Beerus blocks Super Saiyan 3 Goku's punch and flicks him on the head. Next, Beerus repeatedly blocks Goku's punch and defeats him with a Pressure Point Attack, making him unconscious and reverting him back to his base form. Disappointed by the subsequent lack of challenge, Beerus departs in order to see if the Saiyan Prince, Vegeta and the other Saiyans on Earth know more about the Super Saiyan God.[14]

He arrives at Capsule Corporation, where Bulma's birthday party is held. The Saiyan Prince Vegeta seems to have met Beerus before,[15] and he musters all of his excitement and casts aside his pride to put the party's unannounced attendee in a good mood. Beerus easily acclimates himself to the festivities, and even politely apologizes to Bulma for being rude. When Beerus asks Majin Buu for one or two of the custard puddings he has, Majin Buu eats all of them, angering the God of Destruction,[16] who decides to destroy the Earth. Majin Buu is blasted away into a lake by a Kiai from the God of Destruction. Android 18, Tien Shinhan, Piccolo attempt to fight Beerus and the God of Destruction easily defeats them one after another with some chopsticks.[15]
While Beerus retrieves Buu back from the water, Gohan powers up and attacks Beerus only to have his head slammed into Buu's. Beerus also faces Gotenks and quickly defeats him as well. Vegeta decides to fight the God of Destruction on his own after the other Z Fighters have been defeated, but he is ultimately defeated. While Beerus is about to finish off Vegeta, Bulma walks up and scolds Beerus for ruining her birthday party, slapping him. The God of Destruction returns the favor right back and responds with a slap of his own, only his is much harder. Seeing his wife being beaten, Vegeta explodes in a fit of rage starts knocking Beerus around for a bit. Vegeta's anger gives him incredible power, but as soon as his rampage is over, Beerus is just fine and the Saiyan Prince once again accepts his and the planet's fate.
Soon, Goku turns into a Super Saiyan God and faces Beerus again. They have a battle in space, right above planet Earth. The form gives Goku the power to resist Beerus, but he reverts to his regular Super Saiyan form due to the form's time limit. However, he learns the form's godlike feeling, which allows him to use Super Saiyan God power against Beerus. Beerus points out to Goku that Super Saiyan God's time limit ran out some time ago and that Goku did not notice because he was able to absorb Super Saiyan God power into his body while he was fighting. Beerus says that because of this, Goku did not greatly power down even after returning to normal.

Beerus raises one hand towards Goku
The two seem to be equally strong at some point, but Beerus eventually wins when he uses his Sphere of Destruction. Goku stops Beerus' energy sphere, barely holding it back, and the screen suddenly blacks out. Chi-Chi and Goku's friends appear in Goku's mind, then he briefly transforms to Super Saiyan God again and absorbs the energy ball. Goku gets exhausted, and Beerus wants Goku to say "I give up" and he says so. Beerus stops the fight and they talk for a while before going back to the ground. Beerus says that the Super Saiyan God was not that strong and the Oracle Fish's prediction was a little exaggerated. Beerus reveals that there is a warrior stronger than Goku, making him the second strongest fighter's he's faced, to Goku's surprise. He also reveals that Whis is his martial arts master and stronger than him. He continues to say that there are twelve universes, and the one Goku and his friends know is just one of them, the seventh universe. Beerus is the God of Destruction of the seventh universe, and each universe has its God of Destruction. On the ground, when Beerus prepares to destroy the planet, he blasts only a small rock and says he has already run out of power. Whis asks Goku if he would like to be the next Destroyer God after Beerus dies, but Goku turns him down. To the pleasant surprise of everyone present, Beerus sincerely apologizes to Bulma for wrecking her birthday party and slapping her. Bulma accepts his apology and invites him to her next birthday party, promising that he will get a whole swimming pool of pudding to enjoy. After making peace with and befriending the Z Fighters, Beerus and Whis return home.
Beerus tells Whis that both Goku and Vegeta might become formidable foes before long. While they are eating sushi, Beerus tries some of the wasabi. However, the sheer spiciness of the wasabi turns his face red and drives him into a hysterical rampage, flying around at high speed and destroying planets around his temple in the process. Whis eventually flies in and knocks out Beerus in a single karate chop to the back of the neck. After waking up, Beerus is slightly annoyed at Whis for hitting him and says he'll destroy Earth if the sushi isn't good. Of course, Beerus enjoys the sushi and goes to sleep, only to be immediately interrupted when Whis reminds him he hasn't brushed his teeth yet.
Resurrection ‘F’

Beerus is trying to get his three years worth of sleep. However, Goku and Vegeta's training with Whis is very noisy and it makes it difficult for him to do so. Beerus walks toward where they were training wondering what the noise was and when he sneezes, he fires a ki blast toward Goku and Vegeta's direction, but it misses blowing up a planet near his temple. Beerus goes to a tree and hangs from it to sleep. After listening for a while, Beerus notices Goku and Vegeta talking with Whis and wonders why and how they are on his planet. Goku told Beerus that Whis brought them to his temple to train because he couldn't sense their energy. Beerus is curious and questions Goku of the importance of him getting stronger, hoping to overthrow him as Destroyer. Beerus asks Whis what food he was offered the time of visiting Earth he was introduced to pizza. He listened to Whis's words carefully and picks up that Goku and Vegeta have been to his planet several times before.
Later, Beerus is watching Whis, Vegeta, and Goku train while eating pizza. He interrupted their training asks Whis a substance on his pizza, which was cheese. Beerus was asked by Goku to not interrupt their training but Beerus threatened to blow up the Earth. As soon as the Oracle Fish arrives and tells Whis to check his messages, Beerus and Whis see Bulma with an ice cream sundae and are interested in eating it. After hearing from Bulma about Frieza, only Beerus remains interested in the sundae.
Beerus and Whis
A while later, Beerus and Whis arrive on Earth and are ready to eat the ice cream sundae Bulma had prepared, but was agitated by Bulma's response at the moment. Beerus threatens Bulma by holding out a ki blast for Bulma to get the sundae. Beerus and Whis eat their sundae and watch Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Golden Frieza battle. During the fight, Beerus's presence is seen by Frieza and he gets concerned of Beerus there. Beerus states that as a deity, he will not interfere with battles. Beerus says to Bulma that if the Earth starts to come to an end, everyone should stay by him. In the end, Frieza blows up the planet, but Whis shields Beerus, Bulma, Goku, Gohan, Jaco, Tien Shinhan, Piccolo, Krillin, and Master Roshi. Beerus tells Goku that he made a foolish mistake playing with Frieza and that he should send Frieza back to Hell. Whis uses his Temporal Do-over ability for Goku to kill Frieza. Beerus finds it ironic that a Destroyer revived a planet back from destruction.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse
Beerus pretending to be under Demigra's control in Xenoverse
Demigra sends his Mirage to Age 778 in order to use his Dark Magic to take control of the God of Destruction and use him to create a time distortion capable of freeing him from the Crack of Time. Chronoa realizes Demigra's plan and knows that if Beerus falls under Demigra's control all hope is lost and tells the Future Warrior and Future Trunks they must not allow Demigra to gain control over him or all hope is lost. During Bulma's birthday party, Demigra's Mirage hits Beerus with his dark magic as Trunks' toy ball accidentally hits Beerus as he is about to eat some pudding (that Vegeta had saved from being eaten by Majin Buu) causing him to spill it on the ground enraging him. Though Beerus is affected by Demigra's Dark Magic, initially he only shows brief moments of being under its influence and even seems to resist it completely taking control of him. However he falls completely under his control after Goku forfeits their battle high above the Earth. Dark Beerus then creates a Sphere of Destruction and it appears as if Demigra has won and that Beerus will destroy the Earth. However, Beerus throws his Sphere of Destruction at Demigra instead, surprising Future Trunks (who was watching the events unfold from within the Time Vault), the Future Warrior, and Demigra himself. Beerus then reveals that Demigra's Dark Magic was immune to the Gods before he and the Warrior engage in a battle with him. After Demigra's mirage is defeated by Beerus and the Future Warrior, he and Whis accompany the Future Warrior back to the Time Nest much to the surprise of Future Trunks and to the horror of Chronoa, where they agreed that if Future Trunks and the Future Warrior passed their "test", Beerus would allow the two Time Patrollers the honor of destroying Demigra. After that, Beerus and Whis went back to Beerus' temple, where Beerus wanted to sleep.
After Demigra's defeat, Beerus and Whis are seen floating above Toki Toki City watching Trunks and the city's inhabitants celebrate. Beerus mentions that it was worth staying awake just to see the Future Warrior defeat Demigra.
After the Future Warrior completes Goku's training, they encounter Beerus who had apparently journeyed to Toki Toki City in his sleep. Remembering the Warrior, Beerus offers to train them personally, but at first has trouble taking his role as the Warrior's Master seriously, but the Warrior proves himself to be a student worthy of training under the Destroyer God. Beerus ends the Warrior's training by teaching the Warrior his Ultimate Skill, the Sphere of Destruction.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2
In Age 778, Beerus is talking with Goku just after his Super Saiyan God form has run out and is explaining how Goku body absorbed the power of the form increasing Goku's power to new heights, when the Future Warrior (Xenoverse 2) and Masked Saiyan suddenly appear between them as a result of the Future Warrior attempt to capture the mysterious Time Breaker after spotting him on the Sacred World of the Kais in Age 774 following Kid Buu's defeat. Beerus is furious over their interrupting his conversion with Goku. Chronoa and Elder Kai contact him to inform him of the situation as the Future Warrior and Masked Saiyan do battle. Eventually the Warrior manages to crack the Masked Saiyan's mask revealing him to be none other than Goku's time displaced father, Bardock. Mira appears and engages the Future Warrior in battle and has the audacity to tell Beerus to be quiet and watch.
Though surprised at Mira's arrogance, Beerus states it has been awhile since anyone had the guts to talkback to him and decides to allow Mira to fight the Future Warrior without any interference. However eventually Beerus loses his patience and says he has half-a-mind to destroy them all right then and there. He likely would have done so, had Chronoa not sent in her trump card, a containing full of Pudding Cups which she tells the Future Warrior to hand over to Beerus. Chronoa tells Beerus they are for him if he promises not to destroy anyone and Beerus agrees. Goku asks if he can have some pudding and Beerus even offers some to Mira and Masked Saiyan, but Mira leaves considering the God of Destruction's friendly offer a buzz-kill. Whis asks to have some as well and asks if there is any more, causing Chronoa to explain she made a lot of pudding, causing Whis to immediately stop reaching for a cup when he realizes it was made by Chronoa, who's poor cooking skills are apparently well-known to him. However Beerus and Goku are not so lucky as they both consume some of the pudding and are immediately sickened by its horrible taste. It causes Goku to develop stomach cramps preventing him from fighting. However Beerus is left simply furious over Chronoa's horrible pudding, so angry that Whis comments the last time Beerus' anger was this bad he extinguished two suns.
Whis decides that he cannot standby and joins the Future Warrior in subduing the angry Beerus and together they manage to exhaust him, which calms Beerus down. Chronoa says she will try and make it up to Beerus, but he refuses as he will have no more of her cooking. Goku recovers and Beerus decides to return home with Whis. Later in Age 779 during Frieza's Revenge, Beerus and Whis arrive to eat the Strawberry Sundae Bulma had promised them and tells Frieza he will not interfere just as he did in the original history. However Whis notices another power similar to Frieza's and asks if anyone else was revived, causing the Warrior and Vegeta to notice the revived Metal Cooler, who reveals was revived using the Dragon Ball's second wish which had originally been taken by the Pilaf Gang. As Vegeta and the Future Warrior fight Metal Cooler and Goku fights Golden Frieza, Beerus and Whis are contacted by Chronoa who tells them the Time Nest is under attack by Mira and Towa. She asks them for their assistance and tells she has cream puffs, which causes Beerus to ask if she made them, causing her in a nervous tone to tell him that Trunks made them, causing Beerus to accept her offer. However this ends up changing history, as Whis is not present to save Goku and the others from Frieza's Earth Breaker, leading to Goku's death, while Frieza and Metal Cooler survive due to their ability to survive in the vacuum of space. Fortunately, Future Trunks arrives to pull the Warrior out just in time saving them from being killed in the explosion as well. Back at the Time Nest, it is revealed that the attack on the Time Nest was nothing more than a lie created by Towa who had hacked into the Time Nest's communications system and impersonated Chronoa to trick Beerus and Whis to leave Age 779, preventing Whis from aiding Goku and his friends as he had originally.
Beerus is furious over Towa's blasphemous act of deceiving him and wishes to destroy her as he had with Demigra previously. Chronoa explains they don't know where Towa is and suggests that if they fix the change in Age 779, she and Mira might show themselves. Beerus agrees and travels back to Age 779 with Whis and the Future Warrior. Whis uses his Temporal Do-Over to rewind time allowing the Future Warrior to stop Frieza's attack, forcing Frieza and Metal Cooler to transform into their Supervillain forms. Goku, Vegeta, and the Warrior manage to defeat the brothers and the timeline is restored, however Towa does not show angering Beerus. Whis suggests he seal away Elder Kai as a way to alleviate his anger, but Elder Kai objects. Chronoa informs them that Tokitoki has just laid his eggs, causing Whis to comment it is cause for celebration as Tokitoki's Eggs indicate the birth of time for a new universe. As he cannot let Beerus potentially destroy a new universe, Whis decides to spar with Beerus and the Future Warrior which piques Beerus' interest as it has been a while since he and his master sparred. During the sparring match, Whis uses his superior speed to draw his symbol on Beerus' forehead. Realizing it is permanent ink, Beerus rushes off to it wash off leaving the Warrior to face Whis alone. After the session ends, Beerus anger over Towa has subsided though he is annoyed at Whis for drawing his symbol on his head, which Beerus was unable to wash off as it can clearly be seen on his forehead. Beerus decides to leave Towa up to the Time Patrol and leaves with Whis.
After Whis helps Goku travel to Age ??? to assist the Future Warrior, as he is about to take Goku back following Mira's defeat, Goku informs him that Chronoa had said their would be a feast (provided by a wish to Shenron) and Whis realizes that Beerus is already enjoying himself without him. As Beerus is eating ice cream, Elder Kai bumps into him while reading one of his Dirty magazines. Beerus gets angry over him interfering with his snack time, though calms down once he realizes its just Elder Kai, who though fearful of Beerus, still holds a grudge over Beerus sealing him away in the Z Sword. Beerus overhears Elder Kai's grumbling over Beerus' presence and warns him to not talk to himself so loudly. He is about to destroy Elder Kai when Whis arrives with food which he gives to both Beerus and Elder Kai preventing the situation from getting out of hand. Chronoa summons Shenron to create a feast, causing Elder Kai to object over using the Dragon Balls to order take out, though Beerus states it is a festive occasion. Beerus is later sampling some sushi and tells Whis he should try some before he notices Whis is at another table with Tokitoki, Chronoa, Goku, and Elder Kai. After the feast, Beerus is about to observe a sparring session between the Toki Toki City Hero and the new Conton City Hero, telling Goku sit back and watch when he tries to join in on the fight.
The Future Warrior can later find Beerus on the roof of Orange Star High School in Conton City, where he reveals he has been asked by Elder Kai to help the Time Patrol by working as an instructor at the Patroller Academy, but laments all the students wanting him to train them are too weak for him to even bother with, though thinks the Future Warrior might be able to handle it, resulting in Beerus' Initiation Test which allows the Future Warrior the chance to train under him if they pass.
If Beerus fights against Towa in battle, a special dialog occurs where she will be surpised and scared in Beerus' presence and he will reference her deception of him during the main story by saying "Messing with a god usually brings divine retribution, you know?".
Power
- Movies
Beerus usually uses his power to destroy planets,[5] but he is strong enough to destroy entire solar systems with ease (as said by Whis when describing Beerus' might when angered). At a greatly suppressed level of power, Beerus completely dominates Super Saiyan 3 Goku in battle, rendering him unconscious with just a light chop to the neck and leaving him barely breathing.[7] Afterwards, Goku mentions that not even a Fusion of himself and Vegeta would be enough to take down Beerus. Still using only a tiny percentage of his true power, Beerus effortlessly defeats Majin Buu, Android 18, Tien Shinhan, Piccolo, Gohan, and Super Saiyan Gotenks. He dominates Super Saiyan Vegeta and beats him in under a minute, which surprises Krillin.
Against Goku's Super Saiyan God power, the two seemed evenly matched, but Beerus eventually wins. After the end of their battle, Beerus states there is someone stronger than Goku, who given him a harder time. He also states that Whis is superior in power and is his martial arts teacher. It is said by Whis when they returned home that Beerus hasn't used nearly 70% of his full power in a long while.
In Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’, Whis asserts that Goku and Vegeta were strong enough that if they were to fight Beerus together, they could fight on par with him. Goku comments that Beerus is so powerful that a normal ki blast from him would be enough to wipe out both Goku and Vegeta. Beerus is feared by Frieza, who had trained for four months and became stronger than both Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta individually.
- Manga and Anime
Just before Beerus fights Goku, King Kai states to Goku that Beerus has enough power to send Goku flying to the furthest ends of the universe just by snorting at him. When Beerus fights against Goku on King Kai's planet, he is able to casually evade and/or block all of Goku's attacks even at Super Saiyan 3. When Beerus finally agreed to attack, a simple finger flick launched Goku across the entire planet as a display of his power. Likewise, a single outstretched finger was able to easily disperse Super Saiyan 3 Goku's Kamehameha. Beerus then instantly knocked Super Saiyan 3 Goku out with a pressure point to his shoulder (a chop to the neck in the manga adaption). After Goku was defeated, he stated that not even a fusion of himself and Vegeta would stand a chance against Beerus. When Beerus arrives at Bulma's birthday party he restrains Vegeta by simply looking at him (paralyzing his whole body). In a heavily suppressed level of power he easily defeats base Gotenks, Piccolo, Tien Shinhan, Android 18, Majin Buu twice, Gohan and Super Saiyan Vegeta. After defeating an angered Super Saiyan 2 Vegeta, Beerus comments that it is the first time in a long while that he has fought at 10% of his full effort. The manga plays out in a similar manner except he defeats Gohan and Majin Buu with a kiai, and Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks instead of base Gotenks, he also makes no mention of how much power he uses against Vegeta.
After Goku becomes a Super Saiyan God, he is able to hold his own against Beerus, and when Goku awakens the true power of Super Saiyan God, Beerus is forced to power up somewhat (to at least a fair bit above the 10% power he used against Vegeta), after a long fight Beerus defeats Goku. Beerus battling full power Super Saiyan God Goku causes the universe to begin crumble by exerting enormous amounts of energy, and the sheer force of their blows can be felt throughout the universe. In the anime, Beerus tells Whis that he did not use 100% of his power and that he was trying to get Goku to show his power, and later on Whis states that in comparison to Beerus, Goku and Vegeta are merely trees while Beerus is the equivalent of his castle. It is stated in the anime and manga that if Beerus were to use his full power he could destroy the universe.
Beerus stated that there is no one stronger than him in the universe. However, after his battle with Goku, Beerus tells Goku that Whis is his master and is stronger than him before leaving.[17]
Beerus is easily able to destroy planets, he once tapped his nail and half of the planet was completely destroyed. He also destroyed a planet completely by letting a tiny bit of energy drop from his finger onto its surface. It is stated by the Supreme Kais that Beerus has enough power to destroy the entire universe if he was provoked enough - and it is again later implied that at full power, Beerus would destroy the entire universe. It is also stated by King Kai that Beerus is at a level "far beyond strong".
Beerus is shown to also have immense speed, able to go from his temple to another planet located in another star system or galaxy in less than two minutes, making him able to cross great distances within space without Whis' help.
In the Universe 6 Saga, Beerus and Champa prepared to fight each other until Vados and Whis promptly stopped them. The twins had turned the room they were in to ashes just by powering up. Vados claims that if the two gods fight, Universe 6 and Universe 7 would be destroyed.
During the Universe 6 tournament, Beerus still believes he is stronger than Goku even after the Saiyan managed to use the Super Saiyan Blue Kaio-ken. He does, however, show some shock at the level of power Goku displays.
In the Future Trunks Saga Beerus continues to claim that he is on a completely different level than fighters such as Goku and Zamasu, and proves it by killing the latter almost instantaneously; however, this may be only because Zamasu is around Super Saiyan 2 Goku's power. He also claims that when a god kills another god, it will affect space-time as he expects Future Zamasu to be dead as well after killing the present one. This was later proven true after Black revealed his Time Ring protected him from annihilation once time and space had been altered by his death in the past. Toei went on to state Beerus killing Zamasu split the main timeline in half.[18] Both Beerus and Whis were later shown to survive in Earth's Inner Core with no visible discomfort whatsoever.
Beerus is at his most vulnerable, if the Supreme Kais of Universe 7 were to die, thus he will die with him as they are part of a life link. He therefore tries to ensure that no harm were to come to any of the remaining Supreme Kai's of his universe in any way possible as part of his duties.
It should also be noted that Beerus' power pales in comparison with Zen-Oh, his superior and the supreme deity who rulers over all the other gods. Ironically, Beerus is shown to fear upsetting Zen-Oh in a manner similar to how others fear Beerus himself. It has been stated while Beerus may be capable of destroying a single universe, Zen-Oh is capable of destroying multiple universes.
Like all Gods of Destruction, Beerus is supremely powerful, and rivals his Angel attendant, in his case Whis, as one of the mightiest entities in Universe 7, and among the strongest in all of the universes.
- Statements by authors and guidebooks
V-Jump notes that Beerus is without a doubt the strongest being in the history of Z.[7] However, this is disproven in Battle of Gods when Beerus reveals that his martial arts master, Whis, is stronger than him. Beerus' power as a God of Destruction is in another dimension altogether in comparison to the non-godly Z Fighters.[2] In an interview, Akira Toriyama stated that Beerus was the strongest in the universe, and that there was nothing higher.[19] According to the series' original author Akira Toriyama, in terms of power, Goku as a Super Saiyan God would be a 6, Beerus would be a 10, and Whis would be a 15.[20] Toriyama also noted that Beerus could destroy the Supreme Kai's realm,[9] which is equal in size to 1/10th of the universe.[21] Akira Toriyama states in Dragon Ball Volume ‘F’ that Frieza is no match for Beerus no matter what he does, even after his training.
According to the Dragon Ball Super rival danger scale, Beerus ranks as a nine out of twelve.[22]
- Video Games
In Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, while sparring with Whis alongside the Future Warrior, Whis manages to playfully draw his symbol on Beerus' forehead without him noticing due to Whis' superior speed, causing Beerus to leave the battle in order to wash it off quickly as Whis had used a permanent marker (after the battle it is shown that Beerus was unable to wash it off in time as it can clearly be seen on his forehead after the match, and is unlocked as an alternate skin/skillset for Beerus). This seemingly proves Beerus' statements about his master being stronger than him (or at the very least it shows that Whis is faster than Beerus).
In Dragon Ball Fusions, Beerus is shown to be stronger than Legendary Great Ape Broly as he is able to effortlessly blast the Giant Saiyan Ape away with a Ki Blast after he recovers from his battle with Tekka's Team. Towa also flees with Mira when she notices Beerus' presence (it is unknown if the Towa in Dragon Ball Fusions is from the same timeline as the one who deceives Beerus in Xenoverse 2, who is also known to fear the destroyer Gods wrath).
Techniques
Beerus charges a Ki Blast
- Flight – The ability to fly with the use of ki.
- Ki Blast – The most basic form of energy wave. Beerus can fire ki blasts strong enough to destroy planets, as shown in the arcade game Dragon Ball Heroes.
- Tail Attack – Beerus attacks the opponent by hitting them with his tail, used against Super Saiyan God Goku when the Saiyan had him in a hold.
- Afterimage Strike – One of Beerus' Super Skills in Dragon Ball: Xenoverse.
- Divination – Beerus' is said to occasionally have prophetic dreams, however it is noted by Whis that they are rarely accurate.
- Headshot – A physical technique where Beerus knocks his opponent away with a simple finger flick to the forehead. He uses this against Super Saiyan 3 Goku during their short confrontation on King Kai's planet.
- Kiai – An invisible wave of ki that Beerus emits from his palm. Used against Mr. Buu.
- Beerus' Counterattack – A counterattack where Beerus dodges the opponent's attack and delivers a hard chop from behind. Used against Android 18 on Earth. Named in the video game Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z.
Beerus preparing his Destruction before Creation in Battle of Gods
- Destruction before Creation - Beerus produces a sun-like aura sphere around his body then fires a purple energy wave at his opponent. Beerus tries to perform the technique after beating Oolong at Rock-Paper-Scissors only to be interrupted by Goku's appearance. This technique was named in Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butōden.
- Pressure Point Attack – Beerus uses Pressure Point Attacks to render his opponents unconscious. He uses this on Super Saiyan 3 Goku during their confrontation of King Kai's planet, using chopsticks on Piccolo, and later on Vegeta.
- Can You Keep Up? – A rush attack where Beerus quickly moves in front of the opponent and delivers a series of kicks. Used against Ultimate Gohan, Mr. Buu, and Super Saiyan Vegeta on Earth. Named in Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z. This technique shares its name with an equipable Z-Soul in Dragon Ball: Xenoverse.
- Double Axe Handle - A physical technique where Beerus cups his hands together and reels back, then slams his fists on the opponent. Used by Beerus in his fight with Super Saiyan God Goku, while trying to provoke Goku into showing more of his Super Saiyan God power.
- Continuous Energy Bullets – A combination of many energy waves fired at a very rapid rate. Beerus uses an energy sphere barrage technique similar to Piccolo's Hellzone Grenade attack. Used against Goku, as well as in the video game Dragon Ball: Zenkai Battle Royale.
- Full Power Energy Blast Volley - An Energy Barrage technique used by Beerus as one of his Ultimate Skills in Dragon Ball: Xenoverse.
- Full Power Energy Wave - A powerful energy wave fired from his right hand. One of Beerus' Ultimate Skills in Xenoverse 2.
Beerus using God of Destruction's Wrath in Battle of Gods
- God of Destruction's Wrath – Beerus glows purple then fires multiple ki blasts from his aura in all directions. Used in Battle of Gods by Beerus during his battle with Goku in the Underground Lake and later named in Dragon Ball: Xenoverse.
- God of Destruction's Rampage - A rush technique used by Beerus as one of his Super Skills in Dragon Ball Xenoverse. Beerus attacks the opponent in succession while shrouded in a blue aura, which blocks attacks using stamina.

Beerus prepares his ultimate attack
- Beerus' Judgement – Beerus fires his God of Destruction Super Energy Sphere and then follows up with his Wrath of the God of Destruction.
- Sphere of Destruction – A huge energy sphere technique that resembles a yellow star. He uses this attack during his battle against Goku, while facing him above planet Earth. Called Beerus Ball by Akira Toriyama.
- Wrath of the God of Destruction – A finger attack that is Beerus' super attack in Dragon Ball Heroes. He uses this attack during his battle against Goku in the movie, in order to increase the size of his God of Destruction Super Energy Sphere. It is called God of Destruction's Anger in Dragon Ball: Xenoverse.
- Explosive Wave – Beerus is able to use this technique in the arcade game Dragon Ball: Zenkai Battle.
- Sealing Spell – Beerus sealed the Old Kai into the Z Sword after an argument with him during one of their coordination meeting held every 1,000 years.[9]
- Enhanced Hearing - Thanks to his long ears, Beerus is able to overhear people even if they are far away from him and whispering. In Battle of Gods, it allows Beerus to overhear Yamcha and Oolong's plan on how Oolong will beat Beerus at Rock-Paper-Scissors, allowing Beerus to beat Oolong at the game, which Beerus points out after winning against Oolong.
- Attack Altercation and Redirection – A technique where the user uses their ki to catch an opponent's attack, then alters it and fires it again as their own attack. Beerus used it to catch the strongest caveman's Fire Breath, turned it into a ball of fire and then shot it at the alien by pointing at him with his fingertip.
- Paralyzing Gaze – Beerus narrows his eyes and stares at his foe, and due to his raw power the foe is rendered almost completely immobile.
- Rebirth Kamehameha S – A special ability used by Beerus in Dragon Ball Heroes. It adds power to Goku's Kamehameha Rebirth.
- Sneeze Blast - Due to Beerus' power, even a simple sneeze can produce a powerful energy blast capable of involuntarily destroying the two suns of Beerus' planet, according to Whis and would have likely killed Goku and Vegeta if they hadn't been able to dodge it when Beerus sneezed in Resurrection ‘F’.
- Palm Energy Infusion Explosion – Beerus places his palm on the opponent, infusing yellow ki into them through his palm by having it cover their body as an aura, then he releases and the ki explodes, injuring his foe.
- Energy Nullification – Beerus is able to void out energy and energy-using attacks by cancelling out their effects and rendering them harmless. Beerus used this ability during his fight with Goku, in which he negated a burst of energy created from a clash between the tremendous ki output of Goku and his own, which possessed enough energy to destroy the entire universe.
- Destruction - As the God of Destruction, Beerus possess the ability to destroy anything, which includes Gods and ghosts. By extending one of his hands, with his four main fingers straight up and his thumb crossing his palm horizontally, Beerus can cause his target to disintegrate into nothing regardless of who or what it is, without any effort or waste of energy. He uses this technique to destroy Zamasu and Dr. Mashirito.
- Normal ki immunity – In Battle of Gods, Beerus claims that normal ki has absolutely no effect on a deity like himself.
Beerus uses clones
- Cataclysmic Orb – A ki ball that is similar to an atom, which Beerus fires by physically hitting it. The attack is said to be uncatchable and uncrushable, so Goku had to destroy it with a ki blast. Beerus uses this against Goku in Earth's stratosphere in an attempt to destroy Earth. Named in Dragon Ball Z: Dokkan Battle.
- Cloning – Beerus is capable of creating at least twelve clones of himself in order to aid him in battle against an opponent.
- Possession Immunity and Mimicry – As a god, Beerus is immune to the effects of Demigra's Dark Magic, though it is shown that he is also able to mimic the technique's visual effects (glowing red eyes and aura) in order to give the appearance that he is under its control, allowing him to deceive the technique's user.
- Poison Immunity – Shown only in the Dragon Ball Super manga's first chapter, Beerus is shown to have immunity to poisons.
- Strong Digestive System - Thanks to his physiology, Beerus is capable of consuming even Chronoa's horrible cooking without becoming debilitated afterwards. Shown in Xenoverse 2 when Beerus ate some of Chronoa's Pudding which she tried to use to calm Beerus after the Future Warrior, Masked Saiyan, and Mira interrupted his fight with Goku. Beerus was only extremely displeased by its foul taste and could continue to fight, while Goku was put out of commission after consuming some.
- Powerful Lungs – Thanks to his physiology, Beerus possesses powerful lungs, being even able to breathe in the stratosphere while fighting Super Saiyan God Goku.[23][24] Even without air, Beerus can survive inside of a vacuum as shown in the Super anime and manga.

- Dinosaurs - Beerus claims to have killed the dinosaurs living on Earth after they had angered him. However somehow some of them managed to survive Beerus' wrath as dinosaurs continue to live on Earth in modern times.
- Chief Moginaian - Killed along with his entire species when Beerus destroyed his home planet.
- Zamasu - Destroyed by Beerus' Destruction technique, preventing him from killing Gowasu and stealing Goku's body to become Goku Black (Goku Black however continues to exist due to his Time Ring).
- Dr. Mashirito's ghost - Destroyed by Beerus' Destruction technique, resulting in Dr. Mashirito's soul being destroyed, effectively erasing the mad scientist from existence.

- Beerus was first referenced in the manga chapter "The Zeta Sword" and the episode "Out From the Broken Sword".
- It should be noted that Beerus is not evil, his title as "God Of Destruction" is merely a job-description. I.e. He has the absolute authority to destroy whatever he wants in order to keep balance in the universe, which is necessary. This is the main reason why Goku doesn't despise him.
- In accordance to the original concept for this character, his name in Japanese, Birusu (ビルス), is a pun on "virus" (ビールス; German pronunciation).[25] However, the series' original author, Akira Toriyama, thought his name is a pun on the alcoholic beverage, "beer". The pun continues with Whis and the Universe 6 God of Destruction Champa and his attendant Vados.
- Akira Toriyama's inspiration for the design came from an old Cornish Rex cat living with him (like Toriyama's previous cat was the inspiration for Korin). After the cat became seriously ill, the vet declared it did not have much longer to live, but the cat miraculously recovered and the vet joked that it might be some kind of demon.[2] Beerus' physical design also takes some inspiration from Ancient Egyptian deities,[26] notably Seth and Sekhmet. Seth is a humanoid with a jackal-like head who is the god of desert, storms, darkness, evil, strength, winds, war, conflict and chaos in ancient Egyptian culture. Sekhmet is a humanoid with a lioness head who is the Egyptian Goddess of fire, vengeance, healing medicine, and she carried out divine punishment, such as destroying things, and sending out plagues. In addition to sharing the same position as Sekhmet, Beerus is a felid like her.
- The scriptwriter Yūsuke Watanabe originally envisioned Beerus as a villainous character who infects people with evil and was the one who gave the Saiyan race their ruthless characteristics.[27] Also, Beerus originally looked like a lizard, but Toriyama changed his design entirely.[28]
- Beerus was going to fight the Z Fighters with a spoon or fork, but the Battle of Gods animation director Tadayoshi Yamamuro thought it would be hard for him to fight like that, so he suggested switching it to chopsticks.[28]
- Beerus claimed he wiped the dinosaurs out on Earth, but in the Dragon Ball universe, dinosaurs still thrive on planet Earth. If fact, a dinosaur can be briefly be seen during Beerus' fight with Super Saiyan God Goku in the film Battle of Gods in which Beerus' originally made the claim (before his fight with Goku), directly contradicting his earlier statement in the film.
- One possible explanation for this discrepancy may be explained by Arale Norimaki's use of the Time Slipper in Dr. Slump to prevent the dinosaurs from going extinct. Thus it is possible that Beerus destroyed them as he had claimed but Arale managed to bring some back from the past into modern times explaining their presence in the Dragon Ball series.
