Break Wasteland (ブレイク荒野 Bureiku Kōya)[1] is the place where Piccolo leaves Gohan to survive alone for six months before they can start training together to prepare for the arrival of the mighty Saiyans Vegeta and Nappa.

Overview[]

Break Wasteland is a vast wasteland filled with many dangerous animals, including a violent T-Rex who continuously chases Gohan. It is surrounded by an expansive desert, which is said to be a much harsher environment than the wasteland itself. The young boy initially disliked this land but grew fond of it over time. Gohan even made some friends here, like an injured Apatosaurus (later killed and eaten by the T-Rex) and the old robot C-6 (later destroyed by the collapse of the Nemuria Ruins).

Later, while on Namek, Gohan notes the terrain of the area is very similar to that of Planet Namek and that Piccolo may have been drawn to the landscape by instinct.

In Kakarot, it is named Blake Bog (ブレイク湿地) and is located in the Central Plains area of Earth, southeast of Gizard Wasteland and east of Berl Village. It is where Piccolo does his own solo training while keeping a watch on the progress of Gohan's survival training.

Trivia[]

  • In the episode "Dueling Piccolos", it is revealed that Break Wasteland is actually a large, deserted island, however, this contradicts the maps of the Dragon Ball world published in the Daizenshuu guidebooks, as well as the area's appearance in other various licensed material. Given that the episode is filler, it is likely that the idea of the wasteland being on an island was disregarded when creating the map, as its location is never specified in the original manga.
