First, Future Trunks says "I'll take care of you!" and charges at the opponent, but stops right in front of them with his hand over their face. Then, he charges a yellow energy sphere and fires it in the form of a large blast of energy against the opponent, inflicting a great amount of damage.
Future Trunks uses this attack during his final battle against Future Android 18 and Future Android 17. After Future Trunks dominates Future 18 and Future 17 with his new found strength, the Androids double-team against the Super Saiyan. However, Future Trunks blocks their attacks and knocks down Future 17 before destroying Future 18 with the "Change the Future" energy wave while declaring that the attack is for Gohan. Future Trunks then attacks Future Android 17 with the "Another End" rush, destroying him as well.
Appearances in games
"Change the Future" was named in the Raging Blast games, where it is one of Future Trunks' Super Attacks in his Super Saiyan form. In Dragon Ball: Xenoverse, it appears as one of Future Trunks' Super Skills. In the game, it acts as a counterattack against ki blasts and Ki Blast Skills (it is ineffective against physical attacks and rush strike Skills despite what it says in its in-game description), the user will dodge the attack and appears in front of the opponent to attack with an energy wave. It can be obtained by the Future Warrior as a reward in Parallel Quest 26: "Warrior's Annihilation - Future Chapters". This attack is also present in the game, Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butōden. It's used as Super Saiyan Future Trunks' "Blitz Attack". This technique appears in Dragon Ball Heroes as Dragon Ball Super's Future Trunks technique.
- In the manga version of Episode of Bardock, Bardock used a similar technique to Change the Future to kill one of Chilled's henchmen, Toobi.
