Check-In Station (閻魔界, Enma-kai) is a gateway between the physical plane of existence and the Other World. It serves as both King Yemma's palace and his office, where he passes judgement over dead souls, sending the good ones to Heaven and the bad ones to Hell.
In this mansion, King Yemma is staffed by other ogres. Under certain circumstances, King Yemma has allowed certain deceased individuals to retain their bodies, usually those who have done heroic deeds (e.g. Olibu, Goku, Pikkon), or who have high power levels. The Check-In Station is also adjacent to Snake Way, Hell, and a punishment room that King Yemma claimed to have sent Raditz to for resisting him.
The Check-In Station makes its first appearance when Goku dies and is sent to the afterlife, after his battle with his older brother Raditz. From here, Goku was able to travel Snake Way to be trained under King Kai in preparation for the Saiyan attack back on Earth.
In the movie Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn, the Check-In Station has three floors. The movie also depicts the gateway between Hell and the Check-In Station having a purification device which cleanses souls of excess evil energy. It is an overflow of this energy exploding on a young ogre that causes the creation of the monster Janemba who covered King Yemma's palace in a thick piece of blob, which could only be broken when yelled at and given hurtful insults.
The Check-In Station appears in cutscenes in various video games, such as Dragon Ball Z: The Legacy of Goku, Dragon Ball Z: Budokai, and Dragon Ball Z: Harukanaru Densetsu. It is a location in the Other World in Dragon Ball Z: Buu's Fury and Dragon Ball Z: Attack of the Saiyans. Notably in Buu's Fury, Goku and Vegeta are summoned here by King Yemna after the station was attacked by Janemba.
Called King Yemma's Palace, the station is a battle stage in Super Dragon Ball Z.
In Dragon Ball Fusions, the station appears inside the Timespace Rift created by Tekka and Pinich's wish to Shenron. In the opening of Dragon Ball Fusions, Tekka, Trunks, and Goten are shown entering the Check-In Station and Goten even flies up to King Yemma's eye level to greet him surprising the King of Ogres .
- The very entrance to King Yemma's large place says "WELCOME" with a space between the L and the C, which makes it look like "WEL COME". However, the first time this was ever seen, there were two L's without the space, and it spelled: "WELLCOME".
