Dragon Ball Xenoverse is a series of fighting games based on the Dragon Ball series and developed by Dimps, who previously developed the Budokai series, though the gameplay is closer to the later Budokai Tenkaichi series by Spike (Spike Chunsoft). The Xenoverse series draws inspiration and carries over features from Dragon Ball Online.

The first Xenoverse game was released in early 2015 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, with the sequel being released for the late three platforms in late 2016.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse[]

Main article: Dragon Ball Xenoverse Dragon Ball Xenoverse features a character creation system with five different races. Players can create their own Earthling, Saiyan, Namekian, Majin, or Frieza Race as well as a female character for most of these races.

It follows an original story not seen in the manga or anime. The story features the Time Patrol group led by Future Trunks and the Supreme Kai of Time, including the protagonist, Future Warrior, as they try to undo the machinations of the evil Time Breakers.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2[]

Main article: Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Like its predecessor, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 features full 3D gameplay and a character creation system. And features a new story once again involving the Time Breakers, and more DLCs.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot[]

Main article: Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is an action RPG developed by CyberConnect2. While not closely related to the Xenoverse series, the game features a major side story which implicitly shows what Towa and Mira were up to in-between the first and second Xenoverse games.

Dragon Ball: The Breakers[]

Main article: Dragon Ball: The Breakers Also by Dimps, Dragon Ball: The Breakers is noted to take place in the same universe as the Dragon Ball Xenoverse games,[1] with a notable appearance of Conton City and the Time Patrol. The game features the same style as Xenoverse and re-uses assets. Gameplay of the Raider and Super Soul characters is similar to that of Xenoverse.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 The Manga is a short manga by Toyotarou. It was released alongside Xenoverse 2 and displayed a short story chronicling the adventure of the Future Warrior of Xenoverse 2.
