Dynamite Kick (ダイナマイトキック Dainamaito Kikku) is a technique used by Mr. Satan.
Overview
Although it appears Mr. Satan just adds a name to a normal kick, Gotenks' version causes Buu to explode a second later. However, this has no lasting effect, due to Buu having the ability to regenerate his body.
Usage
Mr. Satan used this against Cell, which had no effect. Gotenks also performs the technique during his battle against Super Buu.
Video Game Appearances
The Dynamite Kick is one of Mr. Satan's super attacks in Dragon Ball Z 2: Super Battle, the Butōden series, Budokai series and Dragon Ball Heroes. It is also referenced to in Dragon Ball Z: Super Butōden 2 and Dragon Ball Z: Buu's Fury. Several of the video games it appears in add explosive effect to the kick absent in either the anime or manga and is likely add for dramatic effect, as well as a reference to the explosive dynamite which the technique's name is derived.
It also appears in Dragon Ball Xenoverse as one of Mr. Satan's Super skills. It also appears as one of Videl's Super skills in her 6th moveset. The Future Warrior can learn the technique by becoming Mr. Satan's Student. It is a chargeable rush attack, if fully charged the user will first perform a Dynamite Kick, then let loose with a barrage of punches and kicks on the opponent, finishing with another Dynamite Kick. When preforming fully charged Dynamite Kick, Mr. Satan (and the Future Warrior depending on the voice option) calls out a flashy name, Mega-Ultra-Super Dynamite Kick.
"Performs a weak melee attack with a very short reach. This technique can be charged by holding the button down, and at maximum charge, its power can match the strongest melee attacks." — Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Tutorial description |
In Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, Dynamite Kick returns as one of Mr. Satan's Super Skills which the Future Warrior can learn by completing Mr. Satan's Initiation Test. After the 1.09.00 Update, it can be added to Majin Buu's custom skillset after purchasing it for 5 TP Medals in Partner Customization.[4] Presumably taught to Good Buu by Mr. Satan as supporting evidence for cover story that Mr. Buu is Mr. Satan's student. Alternatively Good Buu learned it through mimicry.
In Dragon Ball FighterZ, it is Gotenks' Tatsumaki/Shoryuken-hybrid special move, with a same input as the Tatsumaki moves.
