"You fool! I'm Majin Buu!"
— Evil Buu to Good Buu in "Buu Against Buu"

Evil Buu (じんブウ(じゅんすいあく Majin Bū (Junsui Aku), lit. "Demon Person Boo (Pure Evil)") is a tall, thin, gray, emaciated creature which appeared after Majin Buu dispelled the evil from his body.

Overview[]

Evil Buu is the manifestation of the evil side of Majin Buu in physical form. He possesses the bulk of Majin Buu's power, a result of Buu's anger becoming more than he could resist until he expelled it as Evil Buu. This explains why his reaction to the shooting of Mr. Satan was so despicable, and even appalled the fat Majin Buu.

Appearance[]

Evil Majin Buu

Evil Buu depicted with the same coloration as his other incarnations

The pure evil Majin Buu is the polar opposite of the "good" Majin Buu in all aspects, with his incredibly thin body, and gravelly manner of speech compared to the Good Buu who is incredibly fat.

In the anime, colored manga, and video games, Evil Buu has drab grey flesh, white eyes, and wears a dark blue cape. The artwork for Dragon Ball Heroes cards depict him with red eyes and wearing a purple cape, and Daizenshuu art and the Collectible Card Game also depict him with pink flesh, although of a slightly duller color than other incarnations of Buu.

Personality[]

Evil Buu vs Van Zant

Evil Buu stares down Van Zant moments before killing him.

Out of Buu's four main forms, Evil Buu is potentially the most intelligent. Evil Buu is the only Buu form to refer to himself with correct grammar (without the absorption of Piccolo). He says "I'm Majin Buu" instead of "Me Majin Buu" or simply "Buu" like the other forms.

Evil Buu appears to operate on a stern, no-nonsense approach to matters. He wastes no time in eliminating Van Zant and does it without hesitation or mercy. During his fight with Good Buu, Evil Buu maintains a cool and quiet demeanor, refraining from any form of taunting or boasting. After his fight with Good Buu, who had been turned into chocolate, Evil Buu eats the chocolate Good Buu, re-fusing them together, and subsequently triggering his transformation into Super Buu. During this transformation, Evil Buu smiles and laughs maniacally, showcasing a more emotional side to his personality.

As the physical manifestation of Majin Buu's evil side and wrath, Evil Buu is a being of pure evil, without an ounce of good within himself.

Evil buu transforms

Evil Buu transforms into Super Buu.

Once he emerges from the puff of smoke in the air after Buu expelled his inner evil, Evil Buu immediately proceeds to mercilessly eliminate Van Zant in the mountains. He then battles against Good Buu, with the evil incarnation quickly gaining the upper hand. Good Buu is unable to land a hit and is pummeled thoroughly. After dominating the battle, he consumes Good Buu after reflecting an attack meant to turn him into chocolate. Evil Buu then eats the chocolate Good Buu, causing them to re-fuse. Evil Buu laughs as pink smoke is expelled from his body, surrounding him and obscuring the transformation. As a result of this re-fusion, Buu's evil becomes dominant and is now on the outside instead of the inside, resulting in the creation of Super Buu.

Part 6

During the Tournament of Time in Age 780 after Super Saiyan 3 Shallot defeats Innocent Buu, the Majin splits into Good Buu and Evil Buu. Evil Buu searches for his good counterpart, destroying the Capitol in the process. Teen Gohan, Adult Gohan, & Cabba do their best to hold off Evil Buu, while Shallot is busy fighting his twin brother Giblet. The three Saiyans survive their battle with Evil Buu, who manages to find Good Buu after he regenerates, wanting revenge on Shallot for defeating his innocent form. Good Buu asks who Evil Buu is and he refers to himself as Majin Buu, which Good Buu refutes and tries to turn him into candy, but Evil Buu empowered by Dark Ki blows the attack back at Good Buu turning him into a Good Buu-shaped chocolate which Evil Buu consumes absorbing him and transforming into Super Buu who reveals he is under the influence of the Dark Ki and swears his revenge on Shallot.

It is implied that Evil Buu under the effects of the Mastermind's Dark Ki, triggered the fission in order to absorb his good counterpart (who is still antagonistic towards Shallot due to Innocent Buu's defeat) and become Super Buu to become stronger in order to defeat Shallot.

Power[]

Manga and Anime

It is stated that as the embodiment of Buu's concentrated wrath, Evil Buu is stronger than Good Buu (in his initial appearance), who only possesses sweetness and not the power of rage. When Innocent Buu split, the majority of the power went to Evil Buu. As a result of this, Evil Buu was able to easily defeat Good Buu with just a few blows, and even managed to blow back his Chocolate Beam using his breath alone.

Abilities[]

  • Flight – The ability to fly with the use of ki.
  • Ki Blast – The most basic form of energy wave.

  • Continuous Energy Bullet – A combination of many energy waves, much more powerful than the average ki blasts, and fired at a very rapid rate. Only in the anime.
  • Dark Energy – Evil Buu fires a pink energy wave with both hands. Only in the anime.
  • Beatdown – A heavy punch to the face used against Good Buu. Named in the Dragon Ball Z Collectible Card Game.

Super Buu

Main article: Super Buu Super Buu (超ブウ Chō Bū), also called Majin Buu (Evil) (じんブウ (あく Majin Bū (Aku)), is the result of Evil Buu absorbing Good Buu. This form specializes in absorbing enemy combatants, such as several of the Dragon Team, which results in a massive power increase for Super Buu. However, the absorption of Good Buu causes his manner of speech to revert as a side effect of the absorption (as he gains Good Buu's manner of speaking) though it improves as Super Buu absorbs others along with his intelligence and personality traits.

It should be noted that Super Buu is essentially the reverse of Innocent Buu, as his evil traits (embodied by Evil Buu) are dominant in Super Buu, while in Innocent Buu the goodness of Grand Supreme Kai (embodied by Good Buu) is dominate.

Dark Ki

In Dragon Ball Legends, the Evil within Innocent Buu was brainwashed by Zahha which triggered Innocent Buu's fission following his defeat by Super Saiyan 3 Shallot. Under Zahha's influence, he destroyed Central City while searching for Good Buu, whom he eventually found and absorbed, allowing him to transform into Super Buu. His power was enough to easily defeat Adult Gohan, Young Future Trunks, and Cabba's combined power.

Trivia[]

  • Evil Buu's voice is high-pitched in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi; this is fixed later on. However, he still only yells and grunts in the Budokai Tenkaichi series despite being able to speak in the series.
    • On a side note, in the remastered release of the Fusion Saga, the vocal effect to make his voice sound deeper was removed.
  • Theoretically, Evil Buu and Kid Buu are the same being, as Kid Buu represents the pure Evil Buu (without Piccolo, Gotenks, Gohan, and Good Buu/Supreme Kais).
  • He is the only form of Buu not to display any stretching of his body parts in the manga/anime; however, he has this ability in video games. Also, while still having a pink aura, Evil Buu is the only incarnation of Buu to usually not have pink skin.
  • Evil Buu is also the only form of Buu to never be seen using the Transfiguration Beam. However, as Evil Buu is Majin Buu (he is the evil half of Innocent Buu embodied in physical form), it is very likely Evil Buu can perform the Transfiguration Beam as well.
  • An image depicting the Organization of Babidi in Daizenshuu 4 shows an alternately colored version of Evil Buu with pink skin and red eyes, the same color as the other Buus on that image. The other pictures in that specific section of the Daizenshuu are all colored in pink/red and black and white tones, including members of the Ginyu Force.
  • Evil Buu is also depicted with pink skin in the Dragon Ball Collectible Card Game.
  • Along with his good counterpart, Evil Buu is one of the first Majins known to have been created via fission. In Dragon Ball Online, it is revealed that Good Buu himself would later use fission to create a female companion named Miss Buu whom along Good Buu (who became Mr. Buu), went on to become the preverbal Adam and Eve of the Majin race. In Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, in an alternate timeline Majin Buu creates the Majin family via fission instead. However, these fissions are not evil due to Good Buu's pure heart.
  • In Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3, the Devilmite Beam inflicts more damage to Evil Buu than any other version of Buu. This implies that Evil Buu is indeed the evilest of the Buus.
