Background

Frieza1

The young Frieza meeting the Saiyans for the first time in Broly

Frieza's father is a mutant with an abnormally high power level. Because of this, Frieza also possesses the mutant traits, making him and his father King Cold the only ones among the Frieza Race who possess the striking level of power and cruelty shown in the series.[1] Even among his family and the rest of his race, Frieza was a prodigy, whose natural growth in power required him to never undergo any real training and still ultimately became recognized as the most powerful warrior in the universe.[2] It is said that from the moment Frieza was born he was more powerful and cruel than his father, Frieza's overwhelming power and genius for evil led to Cold wanting to hand control over the universe to Frieza immediately.[3]

According to the guidebooks, in Age 731, Frieza annexed the Saiyans into his Frieza Force.

Thanks to his son's potential, Cold handed control over to him while he was still a child.[3] In Broly, he was introduced to the Saiyans in Age 732 - who were informed by Cold that Frieza was their new master.

At one point, King Cold told Frieza that there were only two entities in the universe whom Frieza should never cross: Majin Buu and Beerus the Destroyer.[2] Frieza annexed the Saiyans into his Frieza Force and heard of the legends of the Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan God. At some point in Frieza's past, he conquered at least 448 planets, taking control of 70% of Universe 7.

Frieza's power over the Saiyans

Frieza eventually met Beerus himself. The two got along fairly well as they both enjoyed destroying things. However one time Frieza got carried away and caused Beerus to get angry, Beerus fought Frieza and easily defeated the tyrant.[4] Unbeknownst to Frieza, his arrogant attitude annoyed Beerus. He thought about destroying Frieza once he saved Beerus the trouble of destroying Planet Vegeta himself, though never went through with it. At some point, Frieza encountered the Galactic Patrol and when they engaged him in combat he easily defeated them, thus the patrol decided that they should avoid Frieza at all costs.[4] Frieza had fought his parents in the past, and it had not been since these fights that he had ever had to dust himself off after a fight.

"Well, since the king saw fit to betray me, he died a traitor's death. But, his death wasn't nearly punishment enough. I say we carry out our contingency. If we don't, the primates may be galvanized by their beloved ruler's death into standing united against us. Not that it would do them any good."
— Frieza to Zarbon about exterminating the Saiyan race after King Vegeta's rebellion.

Frieza had many races under his thumb in his planetary trade, including the Saiyans. Gifted with natural fighting ability, strength, and the ability to become stronger after every battle, Saiyans became powerful weapons in Frieza's subjugation of planets. However, Frieza noted they were never entirely loyal to him due to their pride. However, these very abilities made them a liability to the paranoid Frieza, afraid that, if left unchecked, the Saiyans could either unite and overwhelm him, or one day provide a warrior to rival Frieza himself - such as a Super Saiyan or a Super Saiyan God. Due to this, and also due to a past meeting with the God of Destruction Beerus, who asked him to wipe out the Saiyans for him, he decided to wipe out the planet and its inhabitants despite his attendant saying that it would be a shame to waste such mighty warriors. He also ended up forcing King Vegeta into giving him his son, Vegeta, as part of their continued "cooperation." However, King Vegeta secretly intended to betray Frieza before he could ever let him have his son. He also further taunted King Vegeta by implying that he didn't actually care if the latter was delayed in capturing Tazba before referring to the executed messenger as a "silly dope".[5]

Frieza plans the destruction of the Monkeys

Frieza calls for the Saiyans to return to Planet Vegeta. On his ship, he is told of the Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan God legends by Kikono, who doesn't think the legends could be true. Frieza, however, doesn't think they should be overlooked, so he plans to destroy Planet Vegeta in one month's time since most of the Saiyans will not arrive until then. He then tells his subordinate to tell the remaining Saiyans that the planet has been destroyed by a meteor so the Saiyans won't suspect him.

Between Jaco and Dragon Ball Z

In the manga, Frieza killed King Vegeta without having to transform into his second form. Frieza destroyed Planet Vegeta after a month had passed, as he had planned. Bardock briefly attempted to resist Frieza as he was about to destroy Planet Vegeta, however Frieza wiped him, the planet and the rest of the Saiyans out with a Supernova.

"Well Well!! Now that, is beautiful!! See?! Look Dodoria, Zarbon, look at the fireworks!! Aren't they splendid?!?!"
— Frieza reveling in the destruction of Planet Vegeta

FriezaWithDodoriaAndZarbon

Frieza is informed by Zarbon and Dodoria about the Saiyans' growing power

In the anime, on Frieza's arrival to Planet Vegeta's orbit, King Vegeta and his men attempt an uprising both to end Frieza's reign and to rescue Prince Vegeta, but it ended disastrously with the King and his soldiers being slaughtered by Frieza with only a single effortless punch as Zarbon and Dodoria watch. Frieza suspected that other Saiyans would attempt to emulate King Vegeta's approach and commit a full-scale uprising, a suspicion confirmed when he was confronted by a charging Bardock, lunging through the fields of Frieza's men in defiance of the tyrant, and even goes as far as to fire a Final Spirit Cannon at him after giving a heartfelt speech declaring that the Saiyan race is done working for Frieza.

Frieza relishing the destruction of Planet Vegeta

The tyrant retaliated by laughing maniacally with delight as he prepared a Supernova to annihilate the planet. The attack consumes Bardock and some of his men as it buries itself deep beneath the planet's surface resulting in a massive explosion, eradicating nearly every Saiyan. After the planet's explosion, a story was fabricated to ensure the loyalty of the few remaining Saiyans Frieza had kept in his employ as a convenience: Vegeta, Raditz and Nappa. According to the story, a large meteor struck Planet Vegeta and destroyed it that very day. Another version of the story is that it was the benevolent guardian of Planet Vegeta, ashamed at the immorality of the Saiyans, who summoned meteors to impact and destroy the planet and the Saiyan race. Despite these stories, Frieza's destruction of the Saiyans is a rumor that Vegeta heard before the events of Dragon Ball Z, as shown in a flashback during the Frieza Saga (although this might be a form of retroactive continuity, as Vegeta seemed to be unaware of this until Dodoria's confession before his death).

At one point, Frieza destroyed an entire planet and the rebellious race who lived on it with a single gigantic energy ball that he fired from his index finger. Vegeta witnessed this event, which caused him to become scared of Frieza's power and put his plans to assassinate Frieza on a hiatus.[6] At one point prior to the battle on Namek, Frieza witnessed a conflict between Vegeta and the Ginyu Force member Guldo unfolding and blasted Guldo away with a weak Energy Wave as he wished to speak with Vegeta. Frieza then ordered Vegeta to come with him to conquer a planet that Frieza had taken a liking too.

Frieza with Dodoria and Zarbon

Twenty-five years after Frieza destroyed Planet Vegeta, Frieza spies on Vegeta's scouter during the Vegeta Saga and in doing so, learns of the existence of the Dragon Balls on Namek. Planning to obtain them and make a wish for immortality, Frieza arrives on Namek with his longtime comrades and top two highest ranking henchmen, Zarbon and Dodoria, in order to try and obtain the Dragon Balls from the Namekians. Vegeta learns about this from Cui and hurries to Planet Namek to have his wish granted before Frieza.

Frieza and his minions raid nearby Namekian villages for their Dragon Balls, managing to steal four in total. Soon, Zarbon informs Frieza that Cui has just arrived and is pursuing Vegeta. Moreover, two large power levels have appeared but suddenly vanished (referring to Gohan and Krillin) and that their men are currently investigating. Frieza says their main problem should be dealing with the traitor, Vegeta.

During his battle with Cui, Vegeta displays the ability to control his battle power at will, which causes both Cui's and Zarbon's scouters to explode at the same time. Dodoria uses his upgraded Scouter instead and shocked to discover Vegeta has a power level over 24,000, surpassing them both. Frieza remarks that the increase is hardly a surprise, as Vegeta's duties as a soldier kept him on the front lines and his battle on Earth has taught him a few tricks. The tyrant states that if Zarbon and Dodoria work together, they should be able to defeat Vegeta. He points out that he and Vegeta have the same goal of immortality and Vegeta couldn't possibly beat him without it. Frieza recalls that Vegeta was often disrespectful, but he must be desperate to openly betray him.

Dodoria then informs Frieza that Vegeta managed to kill Cui. Unphased, Frieza says they should focus their efforts on finding the fifth Dragon Ball. After detecting ten Namekians nearby, Frieza decides to visit them and warns his men to stay vigilant, as Vegeta isn't the only one attempting to thwart his plans. On their way to the village, they unknowingly pass by Gohan, Krillin, and Bulma, who hide in a cave to avoid being spotted.

When they arrive in the village, Frieza's minions discover five Namekians hiding in a house. When they question them, the elder attempts to fool Frieza by speaking in the Namekian's native language, but the tyrant already knows that Namekians are entirely capable of speaking in a language they all understand. Moori says the others are working in the field and continuously denies knowing the Dragon Ball's whereabouts, but Frieza and Dodoria recall how another village elder had told them that only one deemed worthy by all seven elders would be allowed to claim the Dragon Balls. After killing one of his kin, the elder revealed that the Grand Elder created all seven Dragon Balls and how every village has possession of a Dragon Ball. When that elder had refused to give up the Dragon Ball, Frieza killed him but was still able to find his Dragon Ball. Frieza then informs Moori that the other three Dragon Balls were easy to obtain as everyone was "happy" to oblige. Moori, however, knows that Frieza is lying. In response, Frieza has Zarbon kill everyone besides Moori and the children. Angered, Moori says he would gladly forfeit his life than give his Dragon Ball to Frieza. The tyrant threatens to kill the children too, which surprises Moori, who is sickened that even he would murder children.

Just then, however, three warrior Namekians fly into the village. Frieza asks Dodoria what their battle powers are. He checks and says they’re each about 1,000; no match for them. Moori realizes their Scouters are how they’re able to find the small villages on their vast planet. The warriors easily defeat the weaker soldiers, with Frieza noting that they are able to control their battle powers. Dodoria sets down his two Dragon Balls and asks Frieza if he can get rid of those three, who tells him to do as he pleases. Moori suddenly fires a Finger Beam at Dodoria’s scouter and blows it up. Dodoria laughs and says an attack like that won't defeat him. The elder then jumps up into the air and starts firing more ki blasts down, destroying the scouters of all the defeated henchmen as well. Zarbon realizes he’s targeting the Scouters and an angry Dodoria screams that he’ll kill them all. He then flies up into the air after the elder, but Frieza yells at him to kill the three younger ones first.

After Dodoria brutally murders the warriors, Frieza tells Moori he must realize it’s pointless to defy him any further and asks him to come down. The elder hesitates a bit, but finally comes back down to the ground. Frieza is glad he’s being a little more obedient and asks him to hand over the Dragon Ball, otherwise the children will die. Moori relents, so long as they promise to leave the children out of this and go away, before handing the Ball over to Appule. Frieza asks him to tell them where the other two Dragon Balls are. The elder refuses to sell out the other Namekians and Frieza says he’ll just have to die, along with the children. Dodoria suddenly attacks him. He tells Frieza this isn’t what he promised, and he has what he wanted. Frieza retorts by saying without all seven, the Dragon Balls are useless and without Scouters, the elder should tell them the location of the remaining two Dragon Balls. Moori says he would still rather die than tell them. Zarbon asks if they can really search for the Dragon Balls without scouters and Frieza tells him they’re sure to find something if they track down the remaining Namekians.

Moori tells Dende and Cargo to run away. As Moori prepares to attack, he is surprised by a blast (either Frieza's Death Beam in the manga or Dodoria's Energy Cannon in the anime) that passes by him and kills Cargo instantly. While he is distracted by this, Dodoria kills Moori by breaking his neck. The only survivor, Dende, cries and tries to run away. Dodoria chases after him and prepares to kill him as well him. Just then, Gohan makes his presence known and screams, surprising Frieza and Zarbon. Gohan suddenly flies in and kicks Dodoria in the face, knocking him through a house. Gohan says he’s going to beat him up, and Dodoria starts to stand up, when Krillin flies in with another kick to the face. Krillin then grabs Dende and tells Gohan they need to escape, and so the three of them fly off. Frieza notes that they aren’t Namekians. Dodoria gets up again, angry, and Frieza yells at him to go and capture them, so he flies off as well.

Having grown tired of waiting for Dodoria, Frieza calls him useless and sends Zarbon and Appule to find the last two Dragon Balls while he returns with the other five to the ship. Frieza thinks that Vegeta most likely found a Dragon Ball and is sure to come after the others in his possession. Frieza believes that when Vegeta does come, they’ll just take his Dragon Ball, and have all seven. Frieza lifts the five Dragon Balls off the ground telekinetically, and zooms off with them in his pod.

Ep64cap7

Frieza waiting in his spaceship

Later, Zarbon returns to the ship to tell Frieza about his victory over Vegeta. Frieza is relieved and asks if Vegeta is dead, but Zarbon says he didn’t confirm the corpse, but the odds are slim, considering the severity of his injuries. Frieza asks why he didn’t confirm Vegeta’s death, and Zarbon explains that he was underwater. Frieza figures that Zarbon neglected to confirm it because he didn’t want to get his hair wet and that Vegeta could have found a Dragon Ball and hidden it. Zarbon says it was inexcusable, and he’ll confirm it immediately. In the anime, Orlen arrives at the ship and says he’s found a village, but it’s already been destroyed and its Dragon Ball taken (in the manga, it was Appule who revealed this). Zarbon figures it must’ve been Vegeta, and he did hide a Dragon Ball. Orlen lets it slip that he killed a survivor without first asking where Vegeta may have hidden the Dragon Ball, angering Frieza, who then kills Orlen without a second thought, zapping him with Eye Lasers as Zarbon watched in fear. Frieza tells Zarbon to bring Vegeta back to the ship, and he’d better hope he’s still alive, or he’ll follow Orlen’s example.

Ep54cap9

Frieza orders Appule to summon the elite mercenary team known as the Ginyu Force

He orders Appule to contact Planet Frieza and have the Ginyu Force come here in five days with replacement Scouters. Zarbon panics and asks why he wants the Ginyu Force's help, and Frieza says he has a premonition. A strange feeling that a strong Saiyan exists somewhere in the universe and is destined to become his enemy, however, he is unsure whether or not if it's Vegeta. Zarbon says if it's not Vegeta, then it must be the Saiyan from Earth or his half-breed son, though they’re considerably weaker than Vegeta. Frieza asks Zarbon if he thinks he is delusional and tells him to hurry and bring Vegeta before he loses his patience and Zarbon quickly flies off. Frieza thinks to himself about the Saiyans having endless fighting potential, though they’re of course no match for him they could be really troublesome if one became a Super Saiyan.

Frieza becomes furious due to Vegeta escaping and stealing all the Dragon Balls he had previously acquired

Zarbon returns to the battle area, locates Vegeta's battered body, and takes him to the treatment room in Frieza's ship for Appule to heal him in the rejuvenation chamber. Zarbon reports to Frieza that he captured Vegeta and that he is being healed for further interrogation. Upon healing, Vegeta blasts out of the tank, and the explosion kills Appule. Zarbon and Frieza, having heard the noise, run to the treatment room. However, Vegeta blasts a hole in the ship's wall as a distraction and hides. Concluding that he has fled, Frieza sends Zarbon outside the ship to find him. With his captors distracted, Vegeta excitedly races to Frieza's room, where his five Dragon Balls lie unguarded. Zarbon searches the area for Vegeta, but Frieza is impatient. He selfishly blames Zarbon for Vegeta's escape and threatens to kill him if he cannot locate the Saiyan.

Realizing that he cannot carry all five Dragon Balls, Vegeta alerts Zarbon and Frieza to his location, then unleashes a blast in the hallway to obscure their vision. Vegeta then blasts a hole in a window and tosses all five balls outside before escaping just in time. Frieza is irate, and Zarbon again begins searching outside the ship to no avail. Zarbon desperately asks Frieza if Vegeta is still on the ship, but Frieza angrily blames Zarbon and says it's his responsibility to find Vegeta. As Vegeta flees unnoticed, swimming in a nearby body of water, a furious Frieza says that he will search the ship's interior and orders Zarbon to search the surrounding area, promising to kill him if he does not capture Vegeta within an hour. Zarbon hurries out in fear and searches for Vegeta, to avoid facing severe consequences.

HP10

Frieza awaits the Ginyu Force

With him not returning within the hour, Frieza concludes that Zarbon has either been killed or run away, and laments not calling the Ginyu Force earlier. Frieza concludes that Vegeta has not yet gathered all seven Dragon Balls, because nothing strange has happened and he is still alive. With the new Scouters, Frieza's forces will be able to find him.

After a few days, the Ginyu Force finally land on Planet Namek and present themselves to Frieza with a set of absurd poses. Frieza is visibly unsettled by this display but decides to get down to business quickly. He orders the Ginyu Force to capture Vegeta alive to be interrogated for the Dragon Balls location. Captain Ginyu uses his Scouter and says that Vegeta is traveling with two other people. Frieza thinks that they must be Gohan and Krillin and says that the Ginyu Force can do whatever they want to them. Jeice gives Frieza a box full of the new scouters that he had requested. With their orders set, the Ginyu Force fly off to pursue Vegeta. Ultimately, they fail to do so when Goku arrives on Planet Namek and fights them, eventually defeating them.

Ginyu did bring Frieza the Dragon Balls while his comrades fought, with Frieza complimenting Ginyu on his job well done and saying how he should have sent for them much earlier. Ginyu then attempts to commemorate the event by dancing, but Frieza tells him to do it another time. Frieza then attempts to summon Porunga, but had no success, concluding that they needed some unique password only a Namekian would know. While searching for the secret to unlocking the Dragon Balls' power, Frieza finds out that three Namekians are still alive by checking his Scouters. Ginyu then offers to go, but Frieza tells him he will go himself, telling Ginyu to stay at his post, then he speeds towards Nail and Guru, passing by Dende at the same time, yet ignoring his presence, finally arriving at Grand Elder Guru's home where he is confronted by Nail, the strongest of the Namekian warriors on the planet. Nail leads Frieza away from Guru, and fights Frieza.

"I never imagined that there would be a fool who'd dare to challenge Frieza! I applaud your overconfidence, sir! Of course, I’m sure you will quickly regret not simply revealing the secret of the Dragon Balls... When you have to gasp it out in agony!"
— Frieza in "Nail, Champion of Namek"

NailChopsFrieza

Frieza fighting Nail

As the battle commences, Nail attempts to fight and lunges for his neck, but to no avail, as Frieza grabs onto Nails' arm and violently rips it off his body. As Nail screams in pain, he quickly regenerates his arm, much to the surprise of Frieza. After a very long and tortuous battle, Frieza insists that Nail tells him how to summon Porunga, but Nail launches a powerful ki attack, to no success. Frieza then lands a blow to Nail's nose, while Frieza still demands Nail he tells him about the password. Nail begins laughing, telling Frieza his big mistake about letting Dende go and leaving the Dragon Balls. Frieza then leaves him to die after discovering the fight was a diversion for Dende to reveal the password to Krillin and Gohan as they take the Dragon Balls.

""Of all the short-sighted things you might have said, Vegeta. I dare say you've forgotten how vastly terrifying I can be. Here, let me refresh your memory.""

Vegeta vs Frieza First Form

Frieza at equal power with Vegeta

While flying towards his ship, he attempts to find the energy of the Ginyu Force, realizing they are not showing up on the scouter. Enraged, he follows in pursuit of the heroes only to find that Porunga, the Namekian Dragon is gone due to Guru's death. He confronts Vegeta, Krillin, Gohan, and Dende after Guru had passed away. He then loses his composure due to the loss of immortality and becomes even more enraged to the fact that he did not see this coming earlier. He then faces off with a much more powerful Vegeta, capable of holding his own for a bit against Frieza's strength.

"When ants battle a dinosaur, who do you think emerges the victor?"

KrillinPwndByFrieza

Frieza impales Krillin with his horn.

Spurred on by Vegeta (having learned via Zarbon about Frieza's use of suppressing transformations), Frieza briefly fakes out by causing his armor to explode out and, after divulging to Vegeta his role in the murder of his father, then unveils his second form, to the complete shock of Gohan, Krillin, Vegeta and Dende, as the power not only increasing frightens them, but his appearance as well. With this newfound power, this allows him to defeat Vegeta. After Frieza uses the Death Storm attack, he takes his time to decide who should die first, and chooses Krillin. He injures Krillin by impaling him through the chest with his left horn and torturing him. He then throws him into the Namekian sea, taunting Gohan with his friend's limp body.

Fireza grabs gohan hair

Frieza holds Gohan by his hair

Gohan responds in an incredible fury and proceeds to pound Frieza with punches, kicks and a barrage of ki blasts. Frieza then proceeds to pummel him as a response, and just before he can finish him off, Krillin, healed by Dende, shoots a Destructo Disc at his tail, chopping the tip of it off. Frieza chases Krillin in a diversion and returns to the others when Frieza decides to finish them off. Fortunately, Piccolo joins the battle and is able to go blow to blow with Frieza thanks to his fusion with Nail. Frieza and Piccolo are at even power, neither one of them being able to gain a significant upper hand. Piccolo then powers up further, but soon confused and shocked when he sees that Frieza is able to surpass his new speed.

PiccoloVsFriezaNV02

Piccolo, standing near Frieza, who is about to transform

As the fight continues, Piccolo is revealed to be holding back because of his weighted clothing. Eager to demonstrate even more of his power to Piccolo, Frieza once again transforms, unlocking more of his seemingly endless power. Piccolo attempts to hold his own, but to no avail. He now tries to outrun Frieza, but Frieza's speed is simply too much for Piccolo. Frieza then brutally attacks Piccolo with his Crazy Finger Beam. Gohan again gets angry, and fires the Full Power Masenko, which Frieza struggles with, but eventually deflects back with ease. Piccolo protects Gohan by firing a blast at it, deflecting it away. Frieza notes Gohan's growing power and realizes that he is a Saiyan, but doubts Vegeta is his father (he still believes that only Raditz, Nappa, and Vegeta escaped Planet Vegeta's destruction), and finally, he unveils his true form, stressing that he intended to give his foes the "pleasure" of observing it before they died; in the anime, he promises to show them "a terror greater than hell."

"It would be a relatively simple matter to obliterate you all in my current form, but rather than do that, it will be far more satisfying to leave you with one final vision more terrifying than Death! Consider this my parting gift to you! A nightmare beyond even the horrors of hell! Witness my true, ultimate form!!!"
— Frieza in "Frieza's Final Transformation! The Ultimate Nightmare Begins!"

Frieza torturing Vegeta on Planet Namek

In his new form, Frieza first kills Dende, who Frieza had found out had been healing the heroes when he saw Dende healing Piccolo just before transforming into his final form. Piccolo, Krillin and Gohan attack Frieza, but Frieza easily dodges their flurry of kicks and punches. After receiving another Saiyan Power at his request, Vegeta announces himself as a Super Saiyan and fights Frieza, attempting to hit Frieza with an intense flurry of punches. However, Frieza's speed is still far too much for Vegeta to handle, leaving Vegeta in a quiet state of fear. With all his power, Vegeta fires a Final Burst Cannon at Frieza directly, but the tyrant is still far his superior and easily kicks the beam away. After Vegeta loses his hope, Frieza proceeds to torture and punish him. Frieza wraps his tail around Vegeta's neck, lifts him up and begins torturing him by repeatedly punching Vegeta's spine while strangling him with his tail. As Piccolo, Krillin and Gohan watch in horror, Frieza sadistically reminds them that they can assist Vegeta if they want to, as part of some sick joke.

"Come now, my boy, I can't have you giving up after such a glancing blow. No, Vegeta, I'm afraid that was but prelude to the horrid torment I intend to inflict on you. Keep your eyes open, dear prince, Hell awaits around the corner."
— Frieza taunting Vegeta in "The Moment of Truth Approaches! Goku Back in Action!"

VegetaStrangledAndPummeled

Frieza pummels Vegeta

Just as Frieza is about to slay Vegeta, the healed Goku arrives on the battlefield, ready to fight Frieza. The long and devastating fight begins, with Goku dodging Frieza's first melee attack and lands a hard kick to Frieza's cheek, sending him flying. Gohan, Krillin, and Piccolo are shocked at Goku's intense power, remarking that they couldn't follow their movements at all. Frieza then tries to use the Barrage Death Beam to injure him, to no avail, as Goku deflects them away, even hitting them away from the others. Through a smoke cloud, Frieza believes he has already defeated Goku. However, the Saiyan remains standing unharmed after the smoke is cleared. Frieza is even shocked that he could move them away from his friends while deflecting the beams. Vegeta, believing that Goku has finally become a full-fledged Super Saiyan, taunts Frieza, even though he is too severely beaten even to stand. Frieza, proud of his past accomplishments and irritated, smirks before sending his Death Beam through the Saiyan Prince's heart. Teetering on the brink of death, Vegeta is able to tell the newly healed Goku of Frieza's genocide of the Saiyan race, imploring him to take revenge on behalf of all Saiyans. As Vegeta finishes his plea to Goku, he finally dies from his injury. Goku, saddened by Vegeta's death, buries him and vows to finish Frieza. Goku angrily reminds Frieza that he treats lives as disposable; he had taken the lives of many peaceful people, even children, for his amusement. Goku then tells him that it's his turn to suffer this time. Frieza tells him that he believes the "Super Saiyan" is just a legend. However, Goku doesn't care about the legend; he is going to stop Frieza once and for all. Krillin, Gohan, and Piccolo leave the area so that Goku is not distracted in the battle.

Crazy finger beam final form

Frieza firing finger beams at Goku

Goku and Frieza then engage each other again. In melee, they are proven to be equal in strength, with neither of them able to land any hits. Irritated by this even battle, Frieza fires an energy wave at Goku, causing him to dodge it by using a quick Kamehameha to push himself up into the air quickly. This causes a cloud of smoke, so Frieza fires rays of death beams through it to blast Goku. Goku realizes that Frieza cannot sense him, but before he can develop a plan, Frieza flies above, spots him, and continues firing. Gohan is nearly hit by one of the beams, though Piccolo is able to get him and himself out of the way. Frieza manages to land a downward knuckle attack on Goku and fires a wave at the falling Saiyan. Believing he has won again, Goku appears behind him, and they stand back-to-back. Frieza hides for a short time and soon emerges from the water and attacks, firing a ball that Goku barely throws away, after being pushed into a rock formation. Suddenly, a massive spout of magma bursts out of the ground under him, and Frieza uses the dying planet's molten rock against Goku. Goku is hit by Frieza's tail and falls into the pool of exposed lava below. Piccolo flies over and declares Frieza tell him what happened to Goku, and Frieza responds by telling him that he has perished. He adds that he is creating a stew down there and asks Piccolo if he (a Namekian) wants to be added as seasoning.

Before Piccolo and Frieza can fight once more, Goku bursts out of the ground. His butt catches on fire for a short time (albeit in humorous fashion). Still, no further damage is done, and Goku pushes the lava back into the ground with a Kamehameha to hold off the planet's explosion for some time. Frieza tries to get the jump on him, but Goku is saved by Piccolo, who gives him an early warning. Goku urges Frieza to leave the planet alone during the battle, and so Frieza listens to him. Frieza realizes that his opponent defeated the Ginyu Force and not Vegeta. Frieza uses the hiding tactic again, and it works on Goku, who is kicked into the ocean. Thinking back to the smoke cloud where Frieza could not detect him without seeing him with his eyes, Goku comes up with a plan to hurt Frieza.

GokuSurprisesFrieza

Frieza falls for Goku's distraction kick

Goku fires two Kamehameha torpedo balls and sets them in place underwater. Meanwhile, Frieza does not believe Goku to be dead this time and waits for him to return to the surface. Goku, still underwater, fires the first torpedo. Frieza barely moves out of the way before Goku fires the second one. Frieza again dodges in the nick of time and is enraged. Suddenly, Goku appears from above and lands a clean boot to Frieza's cheek (earlier, it was the right cheek, and this time it was the left). Frieza crashes into a rock formation upon hitting the ground, rendering the tactic a success. For a moment, everyone believes the battle is over already. However, Frieza bursts out of the ground, albeit now showing signs of minor damage. With this, Frieza admits that Goku is the first person other than his parents to cause him pain in his true form. Frieza decides to have some fun with him for causing him this "sensation." Frieza soon realizes that his opponent is the son of the Saiyan that gave him such trouble years before.

"It's been so long since I've felt pain... It's such a strange sensation. What a rare case he is."
— Frieza

FriezaTelekinesis

Frieza using his telekinetic abilities against Goku

Frieza and Goku's battle resumes, with Frieza moving some rocks out of the ground and launching them at Goku. However, he dodges them with ease. Frieza uses his mind to control them, however, so that they keep coming back, forcing Goku to smash them and blow them up with an energy blast instead. Frieza steps it up a notch, this time picking up a whole mountain with his telekinetic powers and throwing it at Goku, all while laughing. Instead of dodging the mountain, Goku tries to hold onto it and stop it in its tracks. Goku is eventually pushed into another mountain by it, but Goku cuts right through the mountain and evades danger. Frieza uses the surprise tactic again and appears above Goku suddenly. Frieza traps Goku in a ball he creates, rendering Goku unable to escape. Frieza smashes him around like a soccer ball but prevents him from smashing into the ground, for the ball will explode if it is touched by anything other than Frieza himself. After some more bouncing around, Frieza finally blows up the ball, sending it and Goku smashing into the ground and causing a massive explosion.

Frieza and Goku face off before the next round

Minutes after the massive explosion, Piccolo realizes that Frieza is just warming up and that he could destroy the entire planet if he wanted to. He also tells them that Frieza is just playing with Goku right now. Krillin and Gohan believe Goku to be dead in the aftermath. However, Piccolo says that Goku is also playing, and he shows them Goku himself, standing tall and almost unscathed, albeit with damaged clothes from the explosion. Piccolo assumes that he had run fast enough to get out of the blast radius. He calls them both monsters - one good, one evil. Goku and Frieza meet up again, stare each other down, and prepare for the next round of their grueling battle. Frieza gives him a proposition in his native language, which the sentence he says translates to "let's get down to business." Goku agrees, and both fighters decide to get serious. A stare-down occurs, and Piccolo tells Krillin and Gohan that this battle is to be decided for the fate of the entire universe - and only the three of them will have the opportunity to witness it. However, Piccolo hopes that he will get to do more than watch.

"You are a case, aren't you? Killing you is going to be sheer delight."

Frieza elbows Goku using 50% of his power

Frieza gives Goku a break and asks him whether they should fight on the ground or in the air. Goku chooses the ground, lying that he's a ground kind of guy, but he is actually trying to remove the danger of Frieza's devastating power in the air. Piccolo notices this very strategy when they pick their battle site. Frieza picks a small, flat island for the final battle to take place, and they both fly over to it. Goku removes his orange shirt while Frieza taunts him, asking if Goku would rather be buried or cremated when he is killed. Immediately after, Frieza gives Goku another break - he allows Goku to battle him without the tyrant using his hands. Jokingly, he says that he won't break his nails this way. A cocky and confident Goku asks Frieza if he's sure he doesn't want to use his hands in battle, but Frieza still agrees not to. After another stare-down, Goku lunges forward, and both fight in melee. Though Frieza cannot punch Goku, he easily dodges each of his attacks. After a lot of dodging between each combatants Frieza whacks Goku in the face with his tail. He then proceeds to slap him multiple times with the powerful tail. Frieza hits him hard one last time, sending Goku crashing to the ground.

FriezaGokuEp92

Frieza beating Goku.

After Goku recovers, both pause for a short time, and Goku finds the battle exciting to him, yet Frieza asks him if he still believes he can somehow beat the tyrant. He lunges at Frieza, and they go at it again, but Frieza still easily dodges Goku's attacks. For a short time, Frieza resorts to blocking before breaking off. Goku attacks again but is wrapped around on the leg by Frieza's tail. Frieza throws him towards the ground, but Goku lands on his hands and pulls Frieza down with the leg's force the tyrant gripped with his tail. Frieza lands, but Goku grabs onto his tail, rendering Frieza unable to get away. Goku jokes about Frieza's poor hygiene, pouring him on. Frieza urges him to let go - and Goku does just that, and flings him into the air. As Goku flies in front to score a hit, Frieza disappears again. Using more rocks to distract Goku, he lands another hit with his tail to Goku's stomach. However, Goku manages to grab Frieza's tail again. Goku jokes around again, saying that he's feeling a little deja vu, enraging Frieza even more. Frieza fights him off and goes on the offense, attempting to land kicks. After some more back-to-back even brawling, both land a kick on one another before dodging and blocking again. Frieza finally ends the scuffle by wrapping his tail around Goku's head. Frieza holds his tight grip, bringing Goku to his knees. Resorting to desperate measures, Goku bites Frieza's tail, releasing the tyrant's grip and causing Frieza sudden (though comedic) pain. This gives Goku his chance, kicking Frieza in the face and lands many punches to the tyrant's stomach. Frieza tries to dodge more but is punched in the face by Goku. He is then kicked in the groin and uppercut. Frieza finally gets the upper hand with a strong right hand breaking the "no hands" rule and knocking Goku down. The aftermath leaves Frieza winded and Goku back on his feet.

Frieza reaches 50% power

Frieza soon reveals that he has been holding back this whole time, and could easily destroy Goku if desired. But before Frieza does, he asks Goku one question: if he joined him, it would suck if all of his power went to waste. Goku quickly refuses, but Frieza continues, telling him that he can have anything he ever wanted - he could live like a god. Or, he could choose to suffer and die now. Goku tells him that he already has everything he wanted, and Frieza finishes by telling him he will die. He then tells Goku that he has only been using 1% of his power (anime only), and Goku believes this to be a bluff. Frieza then states that with 50% of his power, he could easily defeat Goku. Frieza then increases his power to 50% of his maximum, and Goku teleports behind him. Frieza prepares for battle and elbows Goku in the face at immense speed. Frieza elbows Goku a second time, causing blood to fly out of Goku's nose, but the Saiyan stays on his feet. Goku is wrapped around the head by Frieza's tail again and is elbowed in the stomach. This time Goku struggles to stay up and then falls to his knees. Goku is astonished at Frieza's incredible speed.

Frieza tries to block the Kaio-ken Kamehameha

The battle continues, and Frieza easily beats Goku, with Goku completely unable to keep up. Goku attempts to use his Kaio-ken x10 during this battle, but Frieza stills beats him using less than half of his maximum power. Goku then goes desperate and attempts to use x20 Kaio-ken and a Kamehameha, but to no significant avail (the best he could do was slightly char Frieza's hands), as Frieza manages to diffuse the blast with 50% of his power. However, he does become alarmingly aware of his opponent's remarkable abilities.

After taking another beating, a severely battered Goku attempts to create a Large Spirit Bomb by calling on the energies of Namek's solar system as a final resort, as Namek did not have enough life on the planet to make the Spirit Bomb powerful. Piccolo, Krillin and Gohan are able to distract the tyrant long enough, with Piccolo kicking him into the ocean and later Krillin and Gohan firing energy balls at him. Just before Frieza can vaporize Krillin and Gohan, Goku fires the large Spirit Bomb, heavily wounding Frieza to such an extent that his tail ended up severed yet again, and his left eye was left temporarily blinded.

"So the little pests decided to intervene from the sidelines. They just won't rest until I have been pushed to the very limits of my patience... YOU MEDDLING BRATS! I HOPE YOU ALL ENJOY SUFFERING THE SAME FATE AS THIS PLANET!!!"
— Frieza in "Awaken, Legendary Warrior! Goku the Super Saiyan!"

Frieza DBZ Ep 95 001

Frieza survives Goku's Spirit Bomb

With everyone believing the warlord to be dead, the heroes take the time to relax, until Krillin notices that Frieza has emerged from the blast's crater. Frieza retaliates by mortally wounding Piccolo with a Death Beam (in the manga, Frieza intentionally fired at Piccolo, while in the anime, Frieza fired at Goku and then Piccolo pushed him out of the way and took the blast instead). Sarcastically "congratulating" Goku on coming the closest of anyone to actually killing him with the Large Spirit Bomb technique, Frieza then, in an attempt to prevent Krillin and Gohan from being able to follow through with Goku's request that they get to safety, uses his telekinetic powers to make Krillin fly into the air and, despite Goku's pleas, he murders Krillin by causing his ki to detonate from within him. In the Japanese version as well as Kai, Frieza also proceeded to threaten to murder Gohan in a similar manner. Already bordering on the edge of his rage, Goku is pushed over the edge, his rage exploding, causing Frieza to inadvertently create what he had always feared: a Super Saiyan.

At a loss of words, Frieza could only stare at Goku unable to believe that Super Saiyans do exist. Frieza makes a final attempt at shooting down Gohan as he was fleeing with Piccolo, but Goku, with rapid speed proceeds to grab Frieza's hand and crush it in a vicegrip while lecturing him on how Frieza only wants to make him suffer and lacks any remorse, with Frieza then barely yanking his hand away and realizing Super Saiyans do indeed exist. In the ensuing battle, Super Saiyan Goku and Frieza trade blows, but as the fight progresses, Frieza's 50% power clearly proves to be less than adequate against the Super Saiyan; even his Barrage Death Beam have little effect on the newly empowered Saiyan. Frieza attempts to remind Goku that the Saiyans were as ruthless as Frieza himself is in their barbarism, to which Goku replies that the Saiyans have "paid for their mistakes" now, causing Frieza to ask whether that was the reason he killed them easily.[7] Frieza fires a Death Beam in anger, however it simply hits Goku's chin and pushes his head upwards. He lowers his head with just a minor scratch.

"Exasperating to find you underestimated your opponent, isn't it? And that's yours truly at just 70%. Oh, but fear not... The grand unveiling is under way."

FriezaEp98

Frieza reaches full power

In frustration, Frieza sends a Death Ball into the core of the planet, starting a chain reaction that will destroy Namek in five minutes (revealing immediately afterwards that he held back too much of his power for the Death Ball to be a complete success). Frieza unleashes 70% and then 100% of his power, which Goku requested, wanting to fight him using all his strength. Goku also notes that Frieza wanted it this way because if he had not, he would have fired at the planet again and destroyed it. At this point, Frieza launches a terrific assault against Super Saiyan Goku, who had not expected Frieza's power to be as high as it is, with Frieza notably landing a high knee to the face, giving Goku a bloody nose. In the anime, he also gave Goku a challenging enough fight that the latter was forced to fake his death to buy enough time to recover, with Frieza also briefly fighting Gohan until Goku arrived to continue the fight. Also, after Goku let slip that Porunga was now active, Frieza then attempted to make his wish for immortality. Unfortunately for him, wishes to the Dragon required speaking in the Namekian tongue, with Dende instead managing to give the wish to evacuate everyone but Frieza and Goku, with Frieza also briefly witnessing a revived Vegeta. Frieza also ended up learning that Goku partly had the wish given in such a manner to ensure there aren't any more innocents nearby and thus not hold back.

Super Saiyan Goku soon realized that after sustaining so much damage in his 50% state, Frieza's body would no longer be able to handle his 100% power for very long. Super Saiyan Goku and Frieza face off. Eventually, after a very long battle, Super Saiyan Goku gets the battle under his control, delivering a final momentous blow to the tyrant that symbolically ends Frieza's reign. Seeing Frieza's power slipping fast now, Super Saiyan Goku decides to call off the fight, claiming it would be pointless to continue, as Frieza is losing strength rapidly and Super Saiyan Goku had already humbled the tyrant.

"Simian...bastard...! (...) I am Lord Frieza. None surpass me. No one even comes close! Etch this into your skull; I am emperor of the universe; the likes of you are only fit to grovel at my feet! Or better still... to die... IN DISGRACE...!!! AT THE HANDS OF YOUR MASTER!!!"

Humiliated, Frieza refuses to relent, attacking Super Saiyan Goku with two of his Death Saucers. As Super Saiyan Goku dodges the attacks, Frieza ironically becomes distracted long enough to be bifurcated by his own attack. Barely clinging to life, but desperate to survive, Frieza begs for mercy, which Super Saiyan Goku hesitantly provides, giving him a little of his ki. Frieza's pride refuses to allow him to be beaten and saved by a Saiyan "monkey", and he expends what little energy he has left to attack Goku. Overcome with anger, Super Saiyan Goku fires an Angry Kamehameha that consumes both Frieza's attack and what remains of him in the process, finally defeating him and avenging countless people across the universe.

Frieza floats half dead through space

Still alive after taking both Goku's final attack and the destruction of Namek point-blank, Frieza's shredded body drifted throughout space with the planet's debris, with half of his face blown off alongside even more grievous wounds. All the conqueror could manage in his suffering were thoughts of how he had been thoroughly decimated by a lowly Saiyan. His father King Cold had crews search the area, not believing his son to have been destroyed by something as insignificant as the explosion of a planet. What could be found of Frieza is salvaged and reconstructed with cybernetic enhancements, leaving him scarred and bitter. Knowing he is now stronger than ever before, Frieza's first thought upon rehabilitation is revenge on those who defeated him on Namek.

However, his army is torn apart by a mysterious youth. Frieza dismisses his challenger as an insolent child, and pays him almost no heed until the boy reveals himself as another Super Saiyan. Even then, Frieza initially dismisses the boy's claim as a bluff and laughs it off, only to express shock when the boy proves his claim valid by transforming right in front of him and his father.

Dumbstruck, Frieza makes several different efforts to kill the youth, such as energy blasts, each of which is parried easily (this occurs only in the anime while the youth wasted no time and killed Frieza after a single attack in the manga. Also, Gohan implies that Frieza was holding back 50% of his power in the manga whereas the anime has Frieza going all out). He then plays his trump card in the form of a Supernova (a Death Ball ten times the size of the one that destroyed Planet Namek). Even this is nonchalantly brushed away, until a mortified Frieza causes it to detonate with another shot of ki. Thinking him dead, both father and son are stunned when the youth fires a Burning Attack out of nowhere. Fuming, Frieza becomes oblivious to his opponent's position, and is surprised and sliced in half by the Saiyan youth before being cut to pieces and then vaporized with an energy blast, King Cold meets a similar fate, with the youth obliterating him with the God Breaker when the tyrant tries to attack him. Despite this, the common myth throughout the universe remains that Goku defeated Frieza on Namek. In the alternate future timelines of Future Trunks and Cell, it is implied that Future Goku used Instant Transmission to teleport to Earth and killed Future Frieza and Future King Cold instead of Future Trunks. Frieza's cells, regardless of timeline, were later harvested by Dr. Gero to create his ultimate weapon, which resulted in the weapon, Cell, inheriting Frieza's ability to survive in a vacuum.

Frieza and King Cold in Hell

Frieza makes numerous cameo appearances throughout the remainder of the series from Hell. His first (and most major) role was teaming up with Cell and causing trouble in Hell, along with King Cold and the dead members of the Ginyu Force.[8] Frieza and King Cold were the only two villains in this scene to not be thrown onto the Mountain of Needles by Pikkon; Pikkon knocked Frieza out with a single punch to the face after elbowing King Cold in the stomach. Then all seven were locked up in a prison cell. This was one of the rare times Frieza and Cell (two of the three main villains of the show) are seen talking to each other. Frieza and Cell would occasionally train together in Hell.[9]

In hell, Mecha Frieza dreams of his defeat at the hands of Super Saiyan Goku and his death at the hand of Super Saiyan Future Trunks. Soon after, Frieza suddenly finds himself alive again, albeit in pieces, thanks to Sorbet wishing to Shenron to revive him. Using his telekinetic abilities, Frieza attempts to put himself back together but quickly falls apart. Frieza is surprised at having been returned to life and glares at the Pilaf Gang. Sorbet and Tagoma collect the pieces of him and leave the planet. Sorbet places Frieza into a healing chamber, and he is fully revived, taking on his first form while he remembers his first defeat due to Goku on Namek. Frieza awakens, shaking the ship and blowing up all of the Scouters. Frieza emerges and talks with Sorbet and Tagoma, killing a soldier as he does so to test his power before killing Tagoma for talking back to him. Sorbet informs Frieza that Goku defeated Majin Buu, to which Frieza declares he will train for four months to surpass him.

Four months later, Frieza invades Earth with his army of 1,000 soldiers. He destroys North City as a greeting and soon notices the Z Fighters' arrival. He confronts them, asking where Goku is, only for everyone to be surprised as Bulma and Jaco arrive on a ship.

Mecha Frieza in Hell

Contained in a cocoon in Earth's Hell, Frieza dreamed of his defeats at the hands of the Super Saiyans, Goku and Future Trunks, but soon woke up to the sight of the Angels of Hell. However, over fourteen years after Frieza's demise, two of his men, Sorbet (commander of Frieza's army) and Tagoma (elite soldier), collect all of the Dragon Balls with the aid of the Pilaf Gang and resurrect him, and he is revived as he was just before his death, as Mecha Frieza and in pieces. Sorbet and Tagoma collect all of the pieces save for his right eye which is found by Pilaf, who hands it to Sorbet just as he and Tagoma are about to leave. On Sorbet's Spaceship they put the organic parts in a Medical Machine, Frieza's body is regenerated and he reverts himself back into his first form completely free of his cybernetics. As he recovers inside the chamber Frieza dreams of his first defeat by Super Saiyan Goku, and angrily wakes up, shaking the entire ship.

Frieza blasts Tagoma for his suggestion

He was then introduced to Sorbet and Tagoma while they explained to him how they brought him back to life and they could bring King Cold back to life as well, but Frieza suggested that there was no need for that and suggested he would need to wait for his vengeance against the Saiyans. Afterward, he announces to his soldiers that he will not be satisfied until the Super Saiyans (Goku and Future Trunks) have both been killed. Sorbet tries to protest that they need Frieza's ability to rule to restore the Frieza Force due to it growing unstable, but Frieza silences him with a glare. Tagoma then tries to back Sorbet up by suggesting that Frieza put his grudge against the Saiyans behind him and focus on reconstituting his empire. Angry at Tagoma's suggestion to leave the Saiyans alone, Frieza shot Tagoma with ki blasts instead of killing him, because he considered it boring to kill him quickly. Frieza is then informed by Sorbet that Goku's power has surpassed that of even Majin Buu, which is far more than Frieza could have imagined. But due to him being a prodigy, Frieza believes that through four months of serious training, he will be able to reach a level of power high enough to wipe out the Saiyans in the blink of an eye.

Tagoma Training with Frieza

Frieza trains using Tagoma

For the next four months, Frieza trained vigorously, sometimes using Tagoma as a training partner. During training sessions with Tagoma, Frieza would beat him within an inch of his life and then have him go heal up for the next days of training, allowing Frieza to both get stronger and master his torturing-type fighting style to allow him to fight Goku for as long as possible without killing him, to cause the Saiyan as much pain as possible.

After all that time passed, Frieza and his forces eventually reach Earth, and he gets excited about exacting his revenge on the Saiyans. As they are about to land, Frieza begins laughing gleefully at his chance at revenge. After landing on Earth, he fires a Death Beam at North City, completely wiping it out. Frieza then encounters the Z Fighters, who have gathered to try and resist him. Frieza becomes irritated upon realizing that Goku has yet to arrive when he recognizes Krillin as the person he killed on Namek. The tyrant scornfully remarks that the Dragon Balls can revive the powerful and the pathetic before receiving some scathing remarks from Bulma, who had never seen him in person until now. Bulma pleads for some time so that Goku can arrive, but he gives them only ten seconds. Not interested in fighting without his nemesis, Frieza has his army of 1,000 soldiers engage the Z Fighters. When Sorbet attempts to give orders to the soldiers, Frieza flicks him away and instead has the soldiers all aim for Krillin as a joke - offering a planet to whomever kills him.

Frieza Ginyu Sorbet

Frieza with Ginyu and Sorbet

Frieza comments on Gohan's abilities as a fighter, noting with disgust that the boy shares his father's morals. As the fight draws on, Frieza dismisses his troops as a disgrace to his name and threatens to kill Sorbet as punishment for his poor leadership, prompting the diminutive commander to send Shisami into battle. The hulking warrior quickly pulls Gohan into a bear hug in attempt to crush him, but Tagoma blasts the duo from behind in an attempt to kill the enemy's strongest warrior. Intrigued, the tyrant then agrees to appoint Tagoma as supreme commander of his forces if he wipes out the Z Fighters. He then proceeds to watch the battle unfold until Gotenks arrives and injures Tagoma. Gotenks prepares to fight Frieza, only to defuse shortly thereafter. Frieza notes Goten's resemblance to Goku, and Trunks resemblance to Future Trunks, who had sliced him in half. He grows angry at how the Saiyans have multiplied and orders Tagoma to wipe them out.

Shortly afterwards, Frieza is approached by Captain Ginyu, who has switched bodies with Tagoma while he was feeling pain on the ground. The captain explains his hardships throughout the years from being swapped into the body of a frog to arriving on Earth to Frieza's return. Frieza is happy that Ginyu is alive and once more in his service, but is unimpressed by Ginyu's fighting pose and asks him to be useful and wipe out the Z Fighters. Frieza watches with glee as his faithful servant decimates the Z Fighters, noting that he is stronger than Tagoma was. However, Ginyu is defeated when Gohan transforms into a Super Saiyan, with Frieza expressing surprise that Goku's son was capable of obtaining the form.

Though Gohan decides to spare his opponent, Frieza recalls that this scenario is identical to the last part of his battle with Goku on Namek and snaps, flying down to the battlefield in his hoverchair. Enraged, he dismisses Captain Ginyu and attacks Gohan with Death Beams while telling him to scream, beg for mercy, and run. After Gohan succumbs to his injuries and falls to the ground, Frieza attacks with a finishing Death Beam. Suddenly, Piccolo jumps in the way of Frieza's attack, taking the attack's full brunt, protecting Gohan.

Frieza finds it very amusing when Gohan cries for Piccolo. When Bulma finally talks to Whis, he disallows Sorbet to kill her at the moment in hopes that she might bring Goku to Earth. When he does not come right away, Frieza allows Ginyu to fight and kill Goku's friends so that he can be entertained at the least, but then Gohan stands up to Frieza and powers up into his Super Saiyan form once more as a way to both protect everyone and raise his energy high enough to be detected by Goku. The power-up eventually tires him out completely, and Frieza once again decides to end his life.

Frieza begins to transform

Shortly thereafter, Goku and Vegeta appear on the battlefield, the former having used Instant Transmission to return to Earth. Goku quickly blocks the Death Beam before rounding on Frieza, the latter explaining how he returned to life whilst describing his excruciating experiences in Hell. He blames Goku for the suffering he had endured since their battle on Namek and states his desire for vengeance. Vegeta then kills Captain Ginyu, causing Frieza to recognizes the Saiyan Prince's increased strength, though he promises to kill him once Goku is dead. After talking about their recent training, Frieza decides to transform into his final form from the start to avoid making mistakes again and prepares himself to fight, his transformation vaporizing the rest of his soldiers in the process, leaving Sorbet as the sole survivor.

Frieza & Goku's Second Clash

Goku and Frieza begin their rematch

They start their fight on the ground after powering up and then power up again during close combat. Frieza actually thanks Goku for making himself train to fight him at this level, but then gets angry again after remembering the pain he's been through. He plans to kill Krillin and Bulma with Ki blasts, but Goku and Vegeta show up at the last minute and deflect them (Vegeta did this because Goku was pinned to the ground by Frieza at the time). They then resume their fight and take it all the way above the clouds. Frieza tells Goku he attacked his friends so he can fight Goku at his angriest. After being beat around, Frieza fires a Golden Death Ball at Goku and he uses a Kamehameha to collide, causing an explosion.

After he became irritated by Vegeta's continuous clapping, the Saiyan decides to take on the tyrant himself, only for the two of them to negotiate for them to fight each other after Frieza kills Goku. In the manga, the two fight and Goku has the advantage. He then goes on to blast Frieza with a Kamehameha, prompting the tyrant to announce that he is going to reveal his further evolution. Frieza then witnesses Goku transform into his Super Saiyan Blue form.

After saying goodbye in advance, Frieza reinitiated his fight with Goku and he has the upper hand at first, but Goku blocks all of Frieza's upcoming energy attacks which results in an energy clash that lasts a while and causes a blinding explosion.

As Beerus and Whis show up for their dessert, thanks to his new exceedingly high power, Frieza once again gains the upper hand against Goku and after comparing how long it took to reach their new forms, Frieza decides to kill Goku immediately and his friends too so that he won't be lonely in Hell. When he spots Beerus, however, he becomes frightened and frustrated that he might interfere, but Beerus tells Frieza to do as he pleases. Frieza then decides to continue his revenge and keeps pushing him further and further, leaving Goku exhausted.

Frieza then strangles Goku with his tail and punches him in the gut and head repeatedly until Goku bites his tail forcing him to let go, yet Frieza still had the upper hand and knocked him down again.

He then explains why he hates Goku for his actions back on Planet Namek and tries to kill him with his energy attacks, but for some reason, Goku keeps surviving them all. They were almost interrupted by Vegeta, who wanted to kill Frieza for Goku, but he insists that he almost has him. Goku also warns Frieza about his form's downside, but he ignores his warnings and decides to wrap things up, with both combatants using every last bit of power they have left. At first, Frieza seemed to be dominating again, not even allowing Goku to drown to death until Goku's prediction started to come true: he burned more power and stamina than his body can supply and didn't regulate it before he decided to exact his revenge. Due to his massive drop in power and stamina, Goku knocks him away with a punch to the forehead in the anime. Goku then suggests that Frieza leave to have a rematch later. However, Frieza signals to have Sorbet shoot Goku straight in the chest with his ring. He then repeatedly kicks Goku and explains his weaknesses while doing so: his strength makes him careless. As he is about to kill Goku once and for all, Vegeta attacks, and Frieza dodges his blast.

Frieza tries to hit Vegeta with a barrage of Ki blasts, but he's unfazed by any of them due to Frieza having lost most of his power. After a bit of big talk, Vegeta beats up Frieza and the tyrant then reverts into his Final form. Before Vegeta can kill Frieza, however, Frieza blows up the Earth which kills Vegeta and everyone on it. Beerus and Whis state that Frieza survived the destruction thus is floating in space, preparing his next move.

Frieza appears in the Forest of Terror

When Goku and Krillin are training together and sent by Master Roshi to find a medicine called Paradise Herb, they enter a strange forest to look for it, however they encounter a manifestation of Frieza, this is due to the forest being on the edge between this world and the next, and thus the memories of past battles can manifest, and Frieza manifests as he was on Namek through Krillin's memory. Seeing Frieza terrifies Krillin as Frieza was one of the three villains that killed him, though Krillin is more terrified of the Tambourine illusion than either Frieza or Super Buu's illusion due to the Mutant Namekian having killed Krillin first. Goku is able to destroy the Frieza illusion, but it keeps coming back until Goku makes it and the other illusions disintegrate by not reacting to them at all. Krillin was later surrounded by multiple illusions of Frieza that eventually morphed into Nappa.

Frieza in a cocon hell

Frieza is visited by Goku in Hell

In the anime, after 9 members of the 10 members Team Universe 7 gather they realize that Buu has fallen asleep and will not wake up for at least two months. Goku, in a desperate state, suggests making Frieza the 10th member after Beerus rages at the group for destroying all of Frieza's army. Everyone protests because Frieza is as likely to destroy them rather than help them. Nevertheless, Goku insists he and Vegeta can stop Frieza should he get out of control. Goku convinces King Yemma to have him escorted to Hell where he finds Frieza strung up in his cocoon. Frieza wonders why Goku is there and figures out that he is planning something when Goku asks Frieza how he would like to get out of Hell for a bit. After telling Frieza about the Tournament of Power, he cuts the cocoon down, liberating Frieza. After a few disagreements, Frieza agrees.

Frieza attacks Goku with Sidra's Energy of Destruction

Frieza tells Goku to use the Dragon Balls to revive him, enticing Goku by claiming he can become stronger. Disgusted by the offer, Goku nonetheless tells him that the Super Dragon Balls would become the prize for the winner of this Tournament, but Frieza doubts it, preferring the Earth's Dragon Balls to resurrect him. Goku promises to revive Frieza, and so Frieza agrees to join Team Universe 7. Goku goes to see Fortuneteller Baba, and asks her to bring Frieza to Earth for 24 hours. Baba is reluctant to do this but does as Goku asks since the fate of their Universe is at stake. Frieza arrives, and he and Goku greet each other by punching each other in the guts. Assassins from Universe 9 arrive to assassinate Goku and Frieza, who powers up to Golden Frieza and begins killing the assassins. Frieza reveals that he learned to maintain his stamina by mental concentration via imagining killing Goku. Frieza is hit by Energy of Destruction but quickly gains control of it and hits Goku with it. He uses a communicator device from one of the assassins to talk to Sidra and Roh. Frieza offers them a bargain: they make him a member of their team and he will perform well, as he doesn't want to be collateral damage if Universe 7 is erased and offers to kill Goku to ensure his team doesn't win. As the two gods argue over this, Beerus and Whis show up causing Frieza to destroy the communicator. Beerus suspects Frieza is plotting against them, though Whis thinks he may simply have been trying to get intel on other universes.

Frieza joins Team Universe 7

Frieza joins Team Universe 7

Frieza notes to himself that this tournament is the perfect opportunity to manipulate the gods of the many universes, and threatening Beerus silently. After Beerus frees him, Goku asks for a quick spar with Frieza on the condition that whoever lands one punch wins. Both punch each other in the face and knock each other out cold and Beerus declares they are evenly matched. Frieza is taken to the rest of the team. As soon as he arrives, all the other members look at him suspiciously while Beerus prevents him from doing anything stupid to which Frieza tells him he knows. Vegeta then makes a comment about his halo, Frieza jokes about giving him one. As the team leaves and Whis tells everyone to join hands so he can transport them to the arena, Beerus butts in and grabs Frieza's arm instead of Vegeta to avoid an escalating grudge between the two.

In the manga, shortly before the Tournament of Power, Frieza has a nightmare, where he relives his defeat and second death at Vegeta and Goku's hands, respectively. Suddenly, Goku is taken to Earth's Hell by The Guide, causing Frieza to believe that he's still dreaming. Goku says that it isn't a dream, and he has some business with the evil tyrant. Goku comments on Earth's Hell, saying that it's rather pleasant for a place of eternal torture, which causes Frieza to say that nothing is more hellish to him. Frieza asks what he wants, and Goku asks him if he'd like to leave this place for 24 hours. Intrigued, Frieza curiously asks Goku what he is up to.

GoFreez arrive

Frieza and Goku arrive at Capsule Corporation

At the Capsule Corporation, the next day, it is almost time for the fighters to leave, but Goku and Frieza have still not arrived. Team Universe 7 express their concern that they lack a tenth member, and Goku is nowhere to be found. Suddenly Goku and Frieza arrive, with Fortuneteller Baba, battered and bruised. Other than Vegeta and Krillin, everyone seems surprised that Goku recruited Frieza. When Bulma asks how they got injured, Goku replies that peaceful negotiations didn't work, resulting in a fight. Beerus calls Goku an idiot for thinking Frieza would listen to him. Piccolo gives the pair each a Senzu Bean to heal up with. Vegeta insults Frieza for having a halo, and the tyrant threatens him in return. Goku warns Vegeta, saying that somehow Frieza has grown even more potent, despite being immobilized in Hell. Frieza says that he trained in thousands of image training simulations on the best way to kill them all. Beerus warns Frieza not to cross them, or he will personally intervene, but Frieza amusingly says that he was joking. Whis cleans up the pair and asks Goku how he got Frieza to agree to enter the tournament. Frieza says that Goku agreed to fully revive him if their Universe wins the tournament, much to everyone's displeasure.

Whis informs everyone that the time has finally come for the warriors to leave and tell them to join hands and form a circle. Frieza, however, refuses to hold hands with his nemesis, Goku. Frustrated, Beerus threatens to destroy Frieza and his soul, so that he will never come back again unless he joins hands. As expected, Frieza joins hands with Beerus and Goku, although very reluctantly. As final parting words, Beerus tells them that teamwork is crucial, and they should let the other fighters battle it out to save stamina. Whis calls out to the Grand Minister that they are ready to go, and they all take off with Bulma standing close, wishing them all luck.

Frieza showed up while clutching Murichim by his head

In the anime, Frieza and his teammates are transported by Whis to the Null Realm. There he meets the fighters from other universes and is surprised to see Frost, another member of his race. Before the tournament begins, Frieza and Frost meet in secret near the far edge of the ring. The two agree to work together as kindred spirits. Like Goku, Vegeta, 17 and 18, Frieza ignores Gohan's strategy and runs off to fight on his own; ki blasting Catopesra from Universe 3 at point-blank. Frieza easily defeats Napapa and incapacitates Roselle and had caused the latter to accidentally jump out of bounds after some torture. Frieza then witnesses Universe 9 being erased by the two Zenos and swears to reign over them one day. When Kale transformed, and started going on a rampage, Frieza just calmly smiled, seemingly unfazed. Later, when Gohan talked about reuniting their team, Frieza showed up while clutching Murichim by his head. Vegeta approaches Frieza and accuses him of stalking his prey. Frieza blithely just kicks Murichim off the ring.

Frieza tortures Jimizu

Frieza appears again, watching the spectating crowd from above a ledge, and deciding who will be his next victim. He then notices Gohan struggling against Jimizu, and comes to his aid. But, to Gohan, Jimizu, and the spectating Universe 7's surprise, he allows for the fight between Gohan and Jimizu to continue. However, after Gohan is overpowered, Frieza smugly intervenes between Jimizu and Gohan. To his bafflement, Frieza simply gets over his Instant Transmission and knocks him over with his tail, dismissing his technique as mere child's play. Jimizu attempts it again, but once again, Frieza easily attacks him. Using his tail to lift him from his throat, Frieza proceeds to torture Jimizu, and with a final ki blast, claims his victory over him. With both Universe 2 and 7 in shock, Frieza throws him out of the ring, where the members of Universe 2 proceed to give their fallen comrade aid.

Frieza and Frost reveal their alliance

As Frieza berates Gohan for not using his full power against Jimizu, Frost comes in on the scene, complimenting Frieza for the exhilarating battle. Champa yells at Frost to get away from Frieza, as he knows he is no match for him, but then Frost reveals that his only enemy is Gohan. Frieza then walks over to his side, and everyone realizes they had already allied. With everything out on the table, Frost insists that Frieza does battle against Gohan, which Frieza accepts. Before they begin, Frost warns Frieza if he should be lying to him, he would suffer the consequences and forms a Death Beam at his fingertips. Frieza and Gohan then do battle, with Frieza having the upper hand for most of the battle. As the battle goes on, Gohan powers up to his Ultimate form and manages to get a good punch on Frieza. Realizing the full extent of his power, Frieza proceeds to power up to his Golden Form, and after a very short bout, Frieza defeats Gohan. Frost then comes on from the sidelines, marveling at the extraordinary power Frieza possesses. Frieza states that he can also attain this power from training, or at the very least, his full power form, to which Frieza proceeds to transform into.

Frieza about to give Goku some of his energy

Frost follows suit, and Frieza gives him an important lesson about the form: to use it early on to make sure the body's stamina doesn't run out. Frieza gives him one final lesson: not to trust anyone and proceeds to knock him out of the ring. After Frost is knocked out, Gohan pushes himself off the ground, revealing himself to be still conscious. With Frost utterly shocked by this betrayal, Frieza reveals to him that he never intended to work with him, as he considers Frost an amateur in comparison to himself. Enraged by the fact that Frieza would dare call him an amateur, Frost prepares a ki blast. Still, before he can fire, he is erased by the Zenos alone, much to Champa's horror, restating that nobody can attack from outside the arena, and they warn Champa they would erase the entirety of Universe 6 if they did it again. With the fight finally over, Frieza states to Gohan that they should continue to work together to attain victory and leaves with a smile on his face.

Frieza meets Frost manga

In the manga, after arriving in the Null Realm, Frieza discovers his counterpart from Universe 6: Frost. Frieza talks with Frost and after finding they share the same joy for ruling with an iron fist, Frieza suggests that they join up to which Frost gladly accepts. The Grand Minister explains the rules and announces the beginning of the Tournament of Power. Immediately Goku, Vegeta, Frieza, Android 17 and Android 18 split from the rest of the team to go and do their own thing. Frieza eliminates Rubalt by stepping on his hand to make him fall after Android 17 almost knocks him from the arena. As Frost pummels away at Oregano, Frieza intervenes, advising him not to waste much of his energy and asks him to do him a favor by taking out the three weak Earthlings, Master Roshi, Krillin and Tien Shinhan for him. Frost questions this, since they are his teammates. Frieza says that he doesn't care about winning and is only involved to exact his revenge against the Saiyans which he will do when the time is right. Frost is interested by Frieza's goal and decides to play along.

Frost then rushes at Krillin and easily kicks him out of the ring, causing the first member of Universe 7 to fall. Tien and Master Roshi fight Frost but are overwhelmed. Tien fires a full power Tri-Beam. However, Frost walks out unscathed and proceeds to knock Tien out of the ring. Frost is about to take out Master Roshi, but Super Saiyan Goku steps in after Krillin's warning. Frieza tells Frost to pull back since Goku is too much for him to handle and he will deal with the Saiyans in due time. Frieza says they should target the other universes for now. While Frost and Frieza are running, Frieza asks if Frost is currently in his final form, and he answers yes. Frost is surprised to hear that Frieza has another transformation in store. Frieza advises that Frost fight at full strength for the rest of the first half, and when Frost is tired out, Frieza will step in to take over. Frost agrees with this plan.

Afterwards, Frost attacks Universe 9 and easily takes out Oregano with a ki blast. He begins to break up the teamwork shown by this Universe. Hyssop then begins to attack Frost and at first seems to overwhelm him, but Frost then manages to pick up Hyssop and Dragonthrow him into Roselle eliminating both of them from the tournament. Frost then eliminates Chappil with a single kick and eliminates Hop and Sorrel with multiple punches. At this point there are only four warriors left from Universe 9. Comfrey is the last warrior from Universe 9 to challenge Frost. He is Frost's greatest challenge yet. He states not to underestimate Universe 9 and he is beginning to win. Just when Comfrey thinks he has the upper hand, Frost eliminates him with a point-blank Explosive Wave. The Trio of Danger, witnessing Frost's power and their lowering numbers, retreats. Frieza says Frost has done enough and prepares to step in but gives Frost one more piece of advice: do not trust anyone. Frieza suddenly grabs Frost by the throat and chokes him, before kicking him out of bounds. Whis realizes that all of this was a part of Frieza's plan, using Frost to get rid of the weaker fighters.

Elsewhere, Gohan and Piccolo are surrounded by the Trio of Dangers. Piccolo advises that he and Gohan split up, since the Trio of Dangers are too much trouble together. Bergamo orders his brothers to follow Gohan, while he follows Piccolo. Basil and Lavender gang up on Gohan, but they are suddenly blasted and knocked off by Frieza. The evil tyrant calls them fools for jumping into the air so close to the edge. Gohan thanks Frieza for helping him, but, naturally, Frieza refuses his gratitude and says their efforts will be meaningless unless they win and survive. Frieza says that is when he will exact his revenge on the Saiyans, much to Gohan's dismay.

Bergamo is the only fighter remaining from Universe 9, and Piccolo corners him. Piccolo tells him to jump, but Sidra yells at Bergamo to hang in there, knowing that is the end of their universe if they lose. Piccolo, hearing this, hesitates, as Bergamo pleads for mercy, advising that they both find a way to survive. Frieza suddenly kicks Bergamo off, reminding Piccolo with a smirk that this is about their survival. The warriors all stop their battles as they watch the Omni-Kings completely erase everything from Universe 9, leaving just their Angel. The Grand Minister tells the participants to resume fighting as the clock is ticking. Beerus yells at his universe that losing is entirely not an option and threatens to kill them if they do, with the Universe 7 fighters hearing this. Goku says that they're doomed either way if they lose.

Frieza vs Caulifla

Frieza battles Caulifla

Next, Frieza fights against Caulifla, having little trouble overwhelming the Saiyan. Caulifla calls him out on how he appears to just be going after the Saiyans and Frieza replies that whilst he may have no grudge against the Saiyans from Universe 6, they still get on his nerves. With no other choice, Caulifla transforms into a Super Saiyan. Caulifla asks Frieza if he is shocked by her new form, but Frieza says that form has no surprise for him. Caulifla says that's fair, since the Saiyans from Universe 7 have already mastered the form but warns Frieza not to compare her with them.

Caulifla charges toward Frieza, but the evil tyrant uses his telekinetic abilities to throw blocks of the arena at Caulifla. However, her sheer aggressiveness allows her to gain the upper hand on her opponent with a powerful close-range blast, destroying a good portion of the arena.

Golden Frieza color manga

Frieza transforms into Golden Frieza

Frieza compliments Caulifla on her skill and admits that the first Super Saiyan he ever fought wasn't as strong as her. Although he hoped not to, Frieza decides to use his full power and transforms into Golden Frieza. In this form, Frieza is able to quickly turn the tide of battle as he begins to dominate Caulifla, causing concern for the nearby Kale, who goes to assist her. Kale uses her incredible speed to strike at Frieza, and while it causes him no damage, it distracts him long enough for Caulifla to get in a couple of shots. Eventually, Frieza sees through Kale's actions and grabs her and tosses them away. Cabba, seeing the state that his allies are in, knocks off Za Priccio and also goes in to assist the pair. Caulifla tells Cabba and Kale to let her fight Frieza by herself. Frieza remarks that Kale's attacks actually had more sting to them than Caulifla's attacks as a Super Saiyan, much to the surprise of Caulifla and Cabba, though Kale remarks that they were just lucky hits. Frieza asks who will face him next and says he has no problem fighting all three. Caulifla stubbornly says that she is more than enough for him and rushes into battle once more, but it continues to be a one-sided affair. Cabba, after deducing her reason for holding back, asks Kale to use her true power.

Cabba transforms into a Super Saiyan and enters the battle but fares no better and is quickly overpowered by Frieza. Even when Caulifla and Cabba attack together, they prove to be no match for Frieza at all. The anger towards seeing someone so close to her losing, causes Kale to explode in fury as she becomes a Super Saiyan herself, surprising Cabba and Caulifla. Frieza, however, is no longer surprised by Super Saiyans. Suddenly, Kale employs a vicious assault on Frieza that he is unable to defend against. Frieza comments on the new type of Super Saiyan that Kale has become and the complications of keeping up with all the different variations of the form. Goku, who was currently matched up against members of the Pride Troopers along with Gohan and Master Roshi, is told to go and help Frieza. He intercepts the battle and transforms into a Perfected Super Saiyan Blue, much to Frieza's annoyance, who believes he doesn't need help. Goku is able to stop Kale's first punch, and compliments her strength, before kicking her away. Frieza demands that Goku get out of his way, however, Kale continues her assault, and Goku begins to get pushed back, stating that she is getting stronger and stronger by the moment.

Eventually, Kale manages to break Goku's guard and nearly lands a blow, but Frieza kicks Goku out of the way and says that he is capable of handling her himself if he takes her seriously. Kale further transforms into the Legendary Super Saiyan, which Goku describes as her ki spiking once again. While Champa thinks that it is good that his fighter is doing well, Vados voices her concerns. Since this is probably the first time Kale has unleashed all of her power, she is losing her sense and reason and that things could become much worse if she were to lose all control. Kale struggles to regain her senses and charges past Goku and Frieza, while clutching her head as she falls to her knees. In a rage she powers up, with the resulting pressure of her energy knocking off multiple combatants off of the arena. Kale goes on a rampage, single-handedly eliminating Universe's 4, 3, 2, and 10.

Frieza grabs hold of Cabba

In the anime, after observing Goku's battle with Jiren and overhearing the gods' fear of a mortal using the form, Frieza gives chase to Goku, who flees after his loss to recover. Frieza is able to catch Goku and prepares to charge a blast stating that no one can see them behind the pillar. Goku, fearing for his life screams, as Frieza fires his attack; however, to Goku's shock, he is alive, and Frieza laughs and reveals he gave him some of his energy. Frieza said that even though he didn't give him much, knowing that Goku has more than enough to get back on his feet and begin recovering. Frieza continues by telling Goku that all debts are paid, stating that fighting Jiren is something he wanted to avoid. He also told Goku that the gods were actually scared of Goku when he was using his newfound power and told him the gods called it Ultra Instinct. He also informs Goku he is doing well out there as expected and Universe 7 needs him to keep doing well, as Frieza takes his leave to find his next victim. After watching Vegeta save Cabba and learning of their relationship, Frieza became disgusted at the thought and challenges Cabba to a fight after he barely beats Monna. Despite his best efforts, Cabba is incapable of handling Frieza in his base form and powers up to Super Saiyan 2 after Frieza backs him into a corner. Once Frieza reveals his hatred of Saiyans, Cabba fires a Galick Cannon at him, who rather than blocking the move, powers up to his Golden Frieza form and defeats Cabba with Emperor's Death Beams. Uncharacteristically, Frieza asks Cabba to give up and when Cabba refuses, Frieza blasts him out of the ring with a basic ki blast. Afterwards, Frieza says that he regrets using more stamina than required to take out trash.

Golden Frieza helps Goku to defeat Agnilasa

Frieza fires several Death Beams, looking for a fighter to entertain him (Dyspo opted not to deal with him and flees while hiding behind a boulder). Suddenly, Catopesra appears and transforms into his Whirlwind Speed Mode form and asks Frieza if he's fast enough to even catch him before running off (Frieza ignores this). Frieza then appears before Goku, Caulifla, and Kale and expressed interest in eliminating the two female Saiyans and was about to counter Caulifla's Crush Cannon with his Death Ball but stops when Goku insisted on taking them both on. He continues to observe Goku's battle (who re-awoken his Ultra Instinct) and Kefla and stated that he needs Goku to continue working for him after he emerged victorious. Frieza watches on as Universe's 2 and 6 were erased, merely stating that Goku didn't tap into "Ultra Instinct" this time. Later when Agnilasa is created, Frieza gets asked by Goku to help in the battle. Frieza helps Goku, Vegeta, 17, and Gohan to defeat Agnilasa.

Frieza bored with Dyspo's "old technique"

During the fight against the remaining three members Team Universe 11, Dyspo used his Light Bullet to try and attack Frieza from behind, but Frieza grabbed Dyspo’s attacking arm with his tail. Frieza said it was handy to have a tail. Dyspo smiled and said it was handy for him too, and then dragged Frieza by the tail, slammed him face first into a rock formation, and dragged his face through it. But Frieza proved completely unscathed, which shocked the Pride Troopers eliminated and then told Dyspo he was bored before throwing a Death Beam, forcing the pride trooper to flee.

FriezaPunchDyspo

Golden Frieza beats Dyspo ruthlessly

They continued their fight, this time, Dyspo used his Light Bullet against Frieza. Frieza still manages to block Dyspo's attacks with some difficulty until his enemy uses his Circle Flash on him. When the attack explodes on him, Frieza falls on his knees, and Dyspo is ready to attack him again, but Frieza blocks him again with his tail and throws him to the ground. Amused by his opponent, he offers him a deal similar to the one he did with the universe nine, but Dyspo refuses, calming Frieza badly. Exasperated, Frieza decides to finish with him and transforms into Golden Frieza and attacks Dyspo first. After having cashed his attack, Frieza asks him if it's all he has and begins to attack mercilessly, becoming faster than him and still beating him. After having landed again, Frieza began to make fun of Dyspo until he showed his latest asset: Super Maximum Light Speed Mode. Undaunted, Frieza charged Dyspo, but the pride trooper managed to push him a long distance, thanks to speed now superior to that of Golden Frieza's, although Frieza still managed to block some of his blows, but with difficulty.

Cage of light1

Frieza forms the Cage of Light

While Dyspo was going to deal the final blow to Frieza, Gohan intervenes, which surprises Frieza, who asks him why he came to help him. Gohan just said that he was in the same team, which Frieza asked him if he was not afraid, he would betray him for real this time, and Gohan warned him that if it was happening like that, he will make Frieza fall from the arena. Frieza not impressed, agreed to team up with Gohan and they attacked Dyspo with Ki Blasts, but he easily dodges them. Frieza then created a Cage of Light to prevent Dyspo from having enough space to go fast enough, which allows Gohan to gain the upper hand, but this quickly drains his stamina, which forces Frieza to eventually let go. Dyspo is about to attack again, but Gohan manages to catch him from behind, immobilizing him completely. Gohan then shouts at Frieza to knock them down, which he does without hesitation, eliminating both Dyspo and Gohan.

Toppo-vs-android-17-frieza-almos-660x330

Golden Frieza shooting Top from behind

Frieza observes the fight between Top and Android 17. Both opponents launch powerful energy attacks and Top easily pushes back to 17 limits, but Frieza launches a Death Beam at Top's back. Frieza mocks Top and proceeds to fire a barrage of Death Beams, greatly injuring the Pride Trooper. Frieza then finishes with a Golden Death Blaster that completely consumes Top, also allowing Android 17's energy beam to defeat his. However, Top proves not to be out, although he is heavily injured. Frieza appears in front of him, then mocks the futile resistance of the leader of the Pride Troopers, deeming him trash that he will be happy to throw in the trash bin. Suddenly, Top declares that justice and evil are irrelevant, saying survival is the only thing that matters, and powers up to his Destroyer Form. The transformation does not impress Frieza, too confident of its power says that Top cannot do anything against Golden Frieza. Top then fires an Energy of Destruction at Frieza, who confidently believes such an attack won't work on him and stops it with only one hand. His belief is quickly proven wrong, however, and in mere moments, Frieza is consumed by the Energy of Destruction.

FriezaBreak

Frieza being almost crushed by Top

Later in the battle, Frieza reappears, albeit out of his Golden Form and with many injuries scathing him. Enraged that Top did so much damage, Frieza declares that a God of Destruction is nothing compared to him, and fires Destroy The Planet!. Alas, Top merely flicks a tiny ball of destructive energy which manages to destroy the Death Ball, completely stupefying Frieza. Top proceeds to hammer Frieza with several powerful punches, and in mere moments, Frieza is knocked unconscious. But from the sidelines, Android 17 kicks a rock that changes Frieza's trajectory, thus saving him from a ring-out. Later on, Frieza returns to save Android 17 from Top's attack before using an Imprisonment Ball to temporarily paralyze Top. However, his subsequent Psychic Rock Throw failed to affect Top and he ended up tossed around again. Frieza and 17 went for a barrage of ki blasts but they both failed to harm Top as well.

JirenBeatFrieza

Frieza easily dominated by Jiren

The fight was interrupted by Goku and Vegeta's fight against Jiren, who sent a Power Impact towards 17 and Frieza, which hit both of them. Frieza survived the attack, and angered by Jiren's beating of him, attacks him ferociously, but is fended off and hopelessly overpowered by the mighty Pride Trooper. Even in his golden form, Frieza is effortlessly beaten down by Jiren, who stopped his attack with a glare and delivered a blow on the emperor, before punching him with enough force to knock him out of his golden form, leaving Frieza unconscious yet again.

Frieza bides his time during Goku and Jiren's fight, then saves Goku from being knocked out with a Kiai. He powers up alongside a still-alive Android 17 to face off against Jiren. Frieza attacks Jiren head-on and is able to keep up with him in his Golden Form, with Frieza mocking him for losing his power. During the fight, Frieza is knocked back, and 17 flies in and tackles Jiren and charges up the same sneak attack. Jiren attempts to block it this time, but 17 locks them inside his barrier and detonates it, hitting Jiren with the full blast. Jiren vomits and drops to his knee's beaten once again, this time by Frieza and 17.

Goku and Frieza vs

Frieza and Goku fighting side-by-side against Jiren

After 17 tells him to finish Jiren, Frieza charges a Death Beam and points it between Jiren's eyes, demanding the former titan to stare him in the eyes as he eliminates him. With some motivation from Top, Jiren powers back up with what he has left and attacks, forcing Frieza and 17 to set up a barrier. The effort of setting up the barrier causes Frieza to revert to his final form. Seeing this, Goku pulls himself up and joins them. Frieza asks Goku if he remembers his promise about resurrecting him. Goku says yes, and Frieza insults Goku's naïve attitude towards him but expresses his gratitude to Goku. After stopping the attack, Goku and Frieza charge Jiren with 17 providing extended range support with ki attacks.

Frieza Goku Finale Attack

Frieza and Goku combine their power to knock Jiren out of the ring

The trio is able to beat Jiren into what remains of the time pillar. Jiren throws them off and goes for 17. Frieza demands Goku to throw him to Jiren. Goku obliges and Frieza flies to Jiren and hits him with his Nova Strike, willing to sacrifice himself to eliminate Jiren. Jiren manages to redirect them into a nearby rock formation to save himself only to be caught by Goku, who is struggling to hold his Super Saiyan form due to not having energy. With their team cheering them on, Goku fully powers up in his Super Saiyan form as Frieza fully powers up his Final Form and drive Jiren through the ring to eliminate the titan.

In the manga, with 15 minutes remaining, only 12 fighters are left: From Universe 6, Kefla, the fusion of Caulifla and Kale, from Universe 7, Goku, Vegeta, Frieza, Gohan, Android 17 and Master Roshi and from Universe 11, Jiren, Top, Kahseral and Dyspo. While everyone else is busy fighting, Frieza on the other hand, not in imminent conflict, takes the opportunity to recover his stamina.

Vegeta, during his battle with Top, shows some frustration that Goku surpassed him again, achieving Ultra Instinct Sign against Jiren, while Vegeta is struggling with his own opponent. As Top tries to attack Vegeta from behind, the Saiyan prince completely disregards the God of Destruction candidate and powers up, the force of his aura knocking Top out of the ring onto some floating debris, with Beerus noting that Vegeta's aura changed. Top watches Vegeta fight Jiren and is frustrated that the Pride Troopers had to rely on Jiren in the end. Frieza appears and belittles Top for relying on another for survival. Frieza states that while he doesn't relish the idea of attacking a weakened enemy, as the Emperor of Evil, he doesn't play fair, before kicking Top across the floating debris. Dyspo stops fighting Android 17 and comes to his comrade's rescue. Frieza then jumps back to the ring, and destroys all of the floating debris that creates a path to the ring, leaving Dyspo and Top stranded on a single rock.

Jiren hit 17 Frieza

Jiren goes to hit Frieza and 17

Top tells Dyspo to leave him, but Dyspo says that he's too tired from his fight with Android 17 and cannot jump the distance to the arena. Frieza sadistically torments the Pride Troopers by shooting the rock they're standing on.`Android 17 scolds Frieza for his actions and tells him to finish them already. Frieza agrees since there's no time for "fun and games." Dyspo hesitates, then asks Jiren for help as they cannot return to the ring under their power. Jiren stares at his teammates, causing him to be distracted long enough for Goku to teleport to safety with Vegeta. Jiren swiftly appears behind 17 and Frieza and knocks them aside, with both of them unable to follow him at all. Frieza turns gold for his and Jiren's "ultimate battle"

Frieza tells Jiren that he must be cocky if he thinks he can win the Tournament by himself. Jiren expresses indifference in Frieza, and Frieza notes that he is the type to hide his true potential, and now is the time to lay down all his cards, transforming into Golden Frieza and attacking Jiren. While fighting, Frieza glances at the giant pillar in the middle shrinking, and Jiren realizes that Frieza is buying time, putting in more effort to destroy the ring Frieza is standing on. Jiren tries to knock Frieza off, but his attack is blocked by 17. However, Jiren puts in more force to knock Frieza and 17 out, and 17 saves himself and Frieza by landing on debris. 17 says he will take the lead but realizes that he is also no match for Jiren.

17 has a plan and asks Krillin and Android 18 to take care of his wife and children on their island. While Krillin slowly realizes what 17 plans to do, 18 calmly complies to him, saying she's used to handling children. 17 thanks his sister and confronts Jiren, asking if he is fighting for survival or to get his wish granted, and Jiren answers both. 17 says he is giving up on the latter, blowing himself up in a final attempt to win as everyone watches. While 17's blast did destroy one entire half of the ring, Jiren remains unharmed and on the ring.

The Grand Minister and Omni-Kings discuss, and they decide that the tournament will continue as 17 willingly gave up his own life. Jiren is disappointed at witnessing 17's act, saying it is time to end things. Goku shows no anger at what happened but resolves to win and to not let his friends down, once again attaining his Ultra Instinct Sign form. Jiren responds by powering up.

Golden Nova Strike

Golden Frieza knocks Jiren and Goku off-stage

Unfortunately, Goku fails to defeat Jiren before his Perfected Ultra Instinct wears off. Goku and Vegeta manage to overwhelm Jiren by fighting together, however, Jiren turns the tables by awakening his Super Full Power. Jiren blasts Vegeta backwards and he falls from the arena, being eliminated in the process. Goku tries valiantly to battle on but ends up being pushed back. Just as he appears to be on the verge of elimination himself, Frieza appears from behind the two of them, charging a Death Ball. Frieza calls out to Goku to hold on to Jiren and keep him there so he can throw his attack. Goku grabs Jiren from behind and Frieza throws the Death Ball, proclaiming that when he wins, his wish to be revived better be fulfilled. Jiren is able to hold on to the blast and fling it upwards into the air and away from himself, but, just as he does, Frieza, now in his Golden Frieza state, uses the Nova Strike to push Jiren, Goku, and himself from the arena, causing them all to be eliminated from the Tournament.

Just then, Android 17 emerges from underneath a rock, saying that his and Frieza's plan went smoothly, though Frieza says that the android being the last man standing, does not sit with him. Goku praises the pair for their plan, and Frieza replies that they prefer strategy over reckless brawling, unlike Goku. At that, the tournament comes to an end, with Universe 7 being the victor. The others voice their surprise, not knowing that Android 17 was still competing due to not sensing his energy. Krillin asks him about his apparent self-destruction, and Android 17 says that he would never do such a thing and lost the ability to do so a long time ago anyway, reminding Krillin that it was he who made the wish to have his and 18's bombs removed.

Frieza ressurected by Whis

Frieza fully resurrected by Whis

In the anime, after 17 brings back everyone who was erased in the Tournament, Frieza is annoyed at a notion of a happy ending being worse than damnation in hell. Whis resurrects Frieza at the request of Beerus, with Whis telling a shocked Frieza that it is a personal gift from Beerus as gratitude for his efforts. However, while grateful that he was revived, Frieza clarifies that he has no intention of changing his evil ways, with Goku, in turn, stating that should Frieza even attempt to cause any more trouble, he will make sure Frieza is defeated again.

In the manga, after Universe 11 is erased, Android 17 immediately asks for the other universes to be brought back which surprises the Grand Minister. Android 17 says that as the winner, he has the right to make the wish and his choice is to have them all brought back. Upon summoning Super Shenron, the previously erased universes and participants are brought back into existence. As they all begin to make their home, the Grand Minister says that the wish made has elevated Universe 7 up in the ranking, and they are now third from the bottom. In the volume version of the chapter, the universes are shown revived in the stands as they are about to be transported back to their home universes. Cabba waves to Vegeta, while Frost glares at Frieza, who smirks back. Jiren tells Goku he wants to meet again, who replies in kind.

Goku asks why Android 17 changed his wish, and he says that he changed his mind as he didn't want the Zenos to have their way. Vegeta even tells him that they now have more ships than they even need, and Bulma would happily give him one being the savior of the universe. Frieza chimes in, reminding Goku about the promise that he would be revived, and Whis, using his powers, grants him life anew, saying that it is a gift from Beerus who praises him for his strategy in defeating Jiren. Frieza appears to be surprised by the notion but proves how irredeemably evil he is by vowing to continue his evil ways, despite being killed and sent to Hell twice. Though, Goku says that he'll just beat him again if he does.

Team Universe 7 returns to Capsule Corporation, while Whis takes Frieza back to his own planet.

— Frieza to his soldiers after being resurrected in "A Miraculous Conclusion! Farewell Goku! Until We Meet Again!"

According to the flashback explaining Broly's backstory in the Super Hero Saga chapter "Operation: Kidnap Pan", Frieza executed Paragus in part because the latter implied Super Saiyan Blue Goku's usage of God Bind against Broly would have made the latter even more reckless and erratic.

Frieza is informed that prisoners who escaped from Galactic Prison have been rampaging throughout the universe. However, Frieza does not care, since he is not interested in unnecessary battles and thinks there is no advantage in dealing with criminals. Kikono questions this, thinking that the Frieza Force are criminals. However, Frieza and Berryblue correct him, stating that they overtake planets and sell them to those who are in need of a new planet - and so it's simply business. Frieza asks if Kikono has a problem, to which he hastily replies that he does not, and suggests they move on to another planet.[10]

In the aftermath, Elec and the Heeters vowed to dispose of Frieza someday, not knowing that Frieza was well aware of this and has kept it secret, due to the strength of the Heeter family in his army.

At some point, Frieza discovers that one of his conquered planets contains a Hyperbolic Time Chamber. By using it to achieve ten years' worth of training, he is able to attain a new transformation he dubs Black Frieza.

During the climax of the Granolah the Survivor Saga, Frieza appears after being contacted by Elec, well aware of the Heeter's plans to dispose of him before Gas' lifespan expires. His arrival shocks the crowd, and while Gas lunges to kill him, Frieza quickly transforms into Black Frieza for a moment to dispatch the husk of a Heeter with ease. Frieza then questions Elec about the business he has with the emperor. Elec, though Elec states that their wires got crossed. Seeing through his deception, Frieza reveals to Elec that he had already known about the Heeters' plans to kill Frieza for 40 years and had been exploiting them for the Frieza Force's benefit. He mocks Elec by revealing that he was the weakest Heeter before he kills Elec for his betrayal. When Goku and Vegeta question how Frieza could so easily kill Gas despite wishing to be the strongest in the universe, Frieza explains that he'd been training for ten years in a Hyperbolic Time Chamber he'd discovered on another conquered planet. Therefore, he wasn't included in the wish to become the strongest in the universe. Frieza reveals his new Black Frieza transformation to knock out True Ultra Instinct Goku and Ultra Ego Vegeta in one hit, but since they weren't his targets, he decides to spare the two. He then recruits Macki and Oil to the Frieza Force and leaves.

Frieza mulls over the Saiyans' increasing power until Zarbon advises his master to eliminate Bardock and his team. He then has Dodoria and his soldiers take care of destroying the team. Beforehand, he also humors Vegeta's request for a challenging mission by having him do the most challenging mission with the incentive of him coming back alive. However, when seeing that Bardock's attack pod was en route to Vegeta, he forced Dodoria to be placed under house arrest within his quarters for the failure. He also appeared in a vision of Bardock's, where Goku tells Bardock that it's not too late to avoid becoming like Frieza (it should be noted that this dialogue was exclusive to the dub). Upon witnessing Bardock holding his own against his soldiers, Frieza, with barely contained fury, orders for Zarbon to prepare his hover pod to go into space, with a hesitant Zarbon ultimately complying when Frieza subtly threatens Zarbon for questioning his orders. In the end, Frieza is challenged by Bardock himself, who survived the onslaught and wants revenge for the death of his crew. Bardock fires a Riot Javelin at Frieza, who makes a Supernova and cancels out Bardock's attack. Frieza then sends the ball straight into the core of the Planet Vegeta, wiping out almost the entire Saiyan race and many of his own henchmen.

Main article: Dragon Ball Z: Cooler's Revenge Frieza appears along with Bardock, as his brother Cooler watches as he destroys Planet Vegeta and kills Goku's father. The scenes involving Frieza and Bardock, as well as the screen monitors depicting Frieza aboard Cooler's ship, were directly lifted from Bardock: The Father of Goku. He is also frequently mentioned throughout the events proper, mostly in relation to Cooler, as well as his defeat at the hands of Goku. Because of Cooler's uncanny resemblance to Frieza, both Goku and Piccolo mistook him for the latter and ended up shocked due to Frieza's presumed death beforehand.

After his death Frieza's spirit was kept imprisoned in Earth's Hell, with the Angels of Hell being the ones who were tasked with ensuring that he remained captive.[12] During his time in Hell, Frieza's spirit retained the appearance of his Mecha Frieza state and was left trapped inside a cocoon.[13] However, over fourteen years after Frieza's demise, his two elite soldiers Sorbet and Tagoma collect all of the Dragon Balls and resurrect him, and he is revived as he was just before his death, as Mecha Frieza and in pieces. Sorbet and Tagoma collect all of the pieces of Frieza and put the organic parts in a healing chamber, Frieza's body is regenerated, and he reverts himself back into his first form.

Frieza after being regenerated

As soon as Frieza's body is regenerated, he announces to his soldiers that he will not be satisfied until Goku, and Trunks have both been killed. Tagoma then suggests to Frieza that he should ignore Goku and the other Saiyans. Furiously, Frieza blasts Tagoma into outer space with a quick Ki blast. Sorbet then informs Frieza that Goku's power has surpassed that of even Majin Buu, far more than Frieza could have imagined. But due to him being a prodigy, Frieza believes that through four months of serious training, he will be able to reach a level of power high enough to wipe out the Saiyans in the blink of an eye.

During his new invasion of Earth, Frieza first appears in his first form with an army of one thousand soldiers. After landing on Earth, he fires a Death Beam at East City, completely destroying it. Afterward, Frieza fights against Goku using his fourth form, with Goku winning the fight until Frieza decides to utilize what appears to be a purple version of the Death Ball to clash with Goku's God Kamehameha. The two later transform into their final transformations: Goku goes Super Saiyan Blue, with Frieza transforming into his Ultimate Evolution state. Once in this form, he refers to himself as Golden Frieza.

After being beat up by Vegeta, Frieza realizes he cannot defeat him, so he blows up the earth, killing Vegeta. Frieza sends his forces to steal the Dragon Balls from Capsule Corporation so he can become 5cm taller. When Kikono asked why 5cm, Frieza says anymore would be noticeable. Frieza also refuses to go to Earth himself until all seven Dragon Balls are located as despite his ki control gained from training in Hell, Frieza is unable to conceal his large ki signature which he notes the Dragon Team would be able to sense before his ship even entered Earth's atmosphere and that he sent weak soldiers to covertly steal the Dragon Radar from Bulma's lab. The soldier were successful at stealing the Radar and six Dragon Balls that Bulma had been collecting to make herself five years younger but Trunks informed his mother and father about the burglary and the soldiers were caught on video alerting Bulma, Vegeta, and Goku to the theft and Bulma decided to go after the last Dragon Ball on the Ice Continent which Bulma had held off on collecting due to the coldness of the region. Meanwhile Frieza's soldiers find the Saiyan survivors Broly and his father Paragus stranded on Vampa and Frieza learns Paragus hates the House of Vegeta and wants revenge after King Vegeta III banished Broly to Vampa (in the same year Frieza took over command of King Cold's empire following his father's retirement) due to King Vegeta's jealousy over Broly's power level being higher than his eldest son Vegeta IV. Paragus also was given the Frieza Force's cover story that Planet Vegeta was destroyed by collision from a celestial object though did not mourn for its destruction as he had abandoned it years before in an attempt to rescue Broly from Vampa. As a result, Frieza viewed the two Saiyan survivors as valuable soldiers, Broly due to his untapped potential and Paragus due to his hatred of Vegeta's family and ability to control Broly who was loyal to his father. Frieza made a deal with Paragus that he and Broly could take their revenge out on Vegeta but killing the Saiyan named Goku would be reserved for Frieza himself noting his own desire for revenge against the Saiyan who humiliated him.

Eventually his men located the final ball and the Frieza Force headed to Earth. However, Goku and Vegeta attacked the soldiers' ship, though they were saved when Frieza announced his arrival with a Petite Supernova that created a hole in the clouds as his ship descended to the Ice Continent. Frieza, Broly, and Paragus exited the ship flanked by Frieza's Honor Guard. Frieza uses Telekinesis to retrieve the Dragon Balls for safe keeping while he and his new Saiyan subordinates deal with Goku and Vegeta. Vegeta cares little about how his father's exile of Broly lead to Paragus and Broly becoming stranded and notes it has nothing to do with him which is true as Vegeta was still an infant around the time and the decision was his father's not his. Vegeta however has no real sympathy for Paragus or Broly recognizing they want revenge on his whole family and are willing to side with the likes of Frieza to get it. Frieza notices Broly's anger flaring up after seeing Vegeta's dismissive attitude and hearing his father's desire for revenge, causing Frieza to have Paragus order Broly to attack Vegeta.

Frieza watches Broly fights Vegeta and asks Paragus if this is Broly's first real fight. Paragus says he has fought Broly several times, but Frieza laughs at him and says that would be nothing compared to Vegeta then. As the battle intensifies and Goku begins to overpower Broly's Wrathful state with Super Saiyan Blue, Frieza learns Broly is unable to turn into a Super Saiyan and remembering how his murder of Krillin sparked Goku's first transformation, decides to follow the same formula with Broly. After executing Paragus with a Death Beam, he calls out in false horror to Broly, claiming his father was killed by a "stray energy blast". This proves to be successful, as in a sudden explosion of rage, Broly attains his Super Saiyan form.

Unfortunately for Frieza, not long after Broly ascends and Vegeta joins the fray, Goku and Vegeta fly past Frieza and end up siccing Broly on the fearful emperor, who proceeds to receive a brutal beatdown in their places. Even after revealing Golden Frieza, he is still no match for Broly's power, continuing to be manhandled for over an hour. Left in terror of Broly's unprecedented might, Frieza nevertheless maliciously grins at Broly's level of strength. When Gogeta appears, Frieza is left confused as to who the heck he is and is left shocked when he reveals he is a fusion of Goku and Vegeta and watches with absolute awe as Gogeta's power proves to be substantially greater than his and Broly's, easily overpowering Broly repeatedly and would have killed him were it not for Frieza's soldiers turning on him to use the Dragon Balls to whisk Broly away. Frieza attempts to kill them but is stopped by Gogeta. Knowing his foe vastly outclasses him, Frieza leaves. Three days later, Frieza believes that if Broly can control his power, he would be a great asset to the Frieza Force and trusts his henchmen who betrayed him to tame Broly. Frieza says that Goku and Vegeta are becoming a formidable team, and by himself, he can't beat them, especially since they're now able to do fusion, so now he needs a partner to win.

Frieza is the main villain of this film. Frieza and Goku clash once more

Frieza appears as one of the primary antagonists of Shin Budokai. He appears as the leader of a group of villains (composed of himself, Cooler, and Cell) who were able to leave Hell thanks to Janemba. Immediately after being resurrected, Frieza is confronted by Gohan, who transforms into a Super Saiyan. Final Form Frieza is able to tire out Gohan without having to use his full power and decides to leave, revealing that, while in Hell, he has learned how to lower his power without having to use lower forms. Frieza sends Cell and Cooler to search for the Dragon Balls, and then he confronts Goku. Frieza and Goku fight, but Frieza is eventually defeated when Goku immobilizes him with a Pressure Point Attack and then does one of two things: blasts him with a Super Kamehameha, sending to Hell again, or leaves him immobilized.

After returning to Earth as fast as possible, he is met by the newly arrived Future Trunks along with kid Trunks, Goten, and Pikkon. Frieza engages in battle with them, though it was only a distraction as Frieza steals their Dragon Ball and Dragon Radar. Frieza then heads off to look for the Dragon Balls, defeating Krillin along the way.

Later, he tracks down Android 18, trying to take her Dragon Ball. She tells him that Broly stole the Dragon Balls, Frieza fights the Legendary Super Saiyan and is at first defeated, but eventually succeeds and kills Broly. Frieza finds that Broly did not have the Dragon Balls and then collects a Dragon Ball. Towards the game's finale, Android 18 arrives at where Frieza is with a Dragon Ball, and he reveals his new plan; he is going to kidnap Android 18, destroy the planet, and then take 18 with him to planet Namek to steal their Dragon Balls. Frieza then powers himself up using evil energy, making him far more potent than anyone on the planet. Frieza becomes so intense that Android 18 states that even if she put all of her energy into one attack, it would not scratch Frieza. However, Krillin arrives just as Frieza is about to destroy the planet and leave with 18. Krillin and Android 18's love and positive feelings for each other, along with the energy from the Spirit Bomb that Goku gave to Krillin, counter the evil energy that Frieza had built up, significantly weakening Frieza. Krillin (with some of the Spirit Bomb power) and Android 18 then go all out and manage to defeat Frieza, sending him to Hell once again.

It is implied that upon arriving in Hell, Frieza may have been transformed into Janemba due to the evil energy he absorbed, or that Janemba took the energy from Frieza. However, upon Janemba's defeat Frieza would have been returned to normal.

True Form Frieza DBO

Frieza in Dragon Ball Online

In Dragon Ball Online, Frieza attacks Namek like in the manga, he goes through the conflict unaware that the Time Breakers have begun interfering and taking control of his soldiers. Like in the manga, Frieza transforms multiple times, fights the Z Fighters and defeats them until Goku arrives, at which point the two prepare to fight.

In Age 1000, Frieza's Army remnants have become a part of the Time Breakers alliance, their primary goal being to resurrect Frieza once more, which they can achieve by obtaining some of his remains, so they search around the area he was killed for some. Eventually they travel to the past and collect several of Frieza's remains in order to revive him. One of the pieces they collect is 2nd Frieza's severed tail which Krillin cut off with his Destructo Disc during the Battle on Planet Namek. At one point a Time Breaker Frieza Soldier takes a bite out of said tail, causing them to mutate making the soldier larger and stronger.

Prologue
Villainous Mode Frieza (True Form)

Dark Frieza prepares to fight Goku

During the opening prologue in Age 767, 100% Full Power Frieza's battle with Super Saiyan Goku on Dying Namek is shown and Goku defeats Frieza. However history is altered Frieza empowered by Dark Magic granting him the power of Villainous Mode gets back up which shocks Goku, though he transforms back into his Super Saiyan form and continues to fight against Dark Frieza. In the altered history that is shown, SSJ Goku is forced to use a Spirit Bomb to combat Dark Frieza, though it is unclear if he was able to defeat Dark Frieza with it or not. Due to this and other history changes during the Cell Games in Age 767 and the battle with Kid Buu in Age 774, Chronoa and Xeno Trunks realize that history is changing, causing Xeno Trunks to use Toki Toki City's Dragon Balls to summon Shenron and makes a wish to summon a warrior capable of defending all of history, resulting in the Future Warrior being summoned to Toki Toki City and being recruited by Trunks as a member of the Time Patrol.

Frieza Saga

In another altered timeline of the Battle on Namek in Age 767, Frieza's battle with the Z Fighters on Namek turns out differently due to Time Breaker interference though Frieza being empowered by Dark Magic. While Goku is inside the healing chamber, Dark Frieza kills both Vegeta and Krillin and then kills Gohan before Goku can save him. Frieza then faces off against the still injured Goku, who left the healing chamber far too early for him to fight.

When the Future Warrior travels back to stop this change from coming to pass, they arrive and help the Z Fighters fight against Dark Frieza (1st form). Under the influence of Towa's Dark Magic, instead of transforming into his 2nd form, Dark Frieza transforms right into his Final Form, altering the timeline. However, Piccolo arrives in time to assist the Future Warrior in combating Dark Frieza. At the same time, Vegeta has Krillin injure him so he can be healed by Dende and receive Saiyan Power in the hope that it will make him a Super Saiyan. With his new power, Vegeta joins the battle with Dark Frieza but is defeated as he was in the original timeline. However, he and the Future Warrior manage to buy enough time for Goku to arrive and allowing the dying Vegeta to inform him of Frieza's role in the Genocide of the Saiyans and the destruction of Planet Vegeta before dies from his injures restoring that part of the timeline. Together with the Future Warrior, Goku fights Dark Frieza though Frieza proves to be too strong, and Goku is forced to resort to the Spirit Bomb to defeat Frieza like in the original timeline. Instead of Piccolo, Future Warrior distracts Dark Frieza long enough for Goku to prepare and hit him with a Large Spirit Bomb. It appears as though Dark Frieza has been killed.

Goku vs Villainous Frieza

Dark Frieza fights Goku

However, Dark Frieza survives the assault like he did in the original history and is given a dark power up, he then chokes the Future Warrior, shoots a Death Beam through Piccolo's chest, and blows up Krillin with his Death Psycho Bomb, causing Goku to become a Super Saiyan. Dark Frieza attacks Goku with his Killer Ball technique, but Goku dodges it. Unfortunately, one of the stray blasts Goku had dodged ends up heading right towards Gohan and Piccolo, however the Future Warrior manages shield them with their body, and then joins Goku fight against Dark Frieza. Eventually, Frieza becomes desperate and fires his Destroy The Planet! at Namek's core to destroy the planet like in the original history, he holds back out of fear he will be caught in the explosion, allowing Namek to survive though will eventually explode. As a result, SSJ Goku and the Future Warrior survive and continue to fight against Villainous Mode Dark Frieza at 100% Power on Dying Namek. Eventually, Future Warrior and Super Saiyan Goku's combined power is enough to defeat Dark Frieza, who loses the dark power up and returns to regular Frieza. Goku thanks the Warrior for their assistance but asks them to leave Frieza's fate up to him. Since the timeline had been fixed, the Future Warrior then leaves Goku and Frieza to their battle, as Porunga is summoned and Frieza speeds towards him, with Goku giving chase. Chronoa and Xeno Trunks later reveal to the Future Warrior that Goku ends up defeating Frieza in the corrected timeline; thus, the original timeline is restored.

In Age 850, Frieza (1st form) appears in Toki Toki City after the Future Warrior has completed Captain Ginyu's training and became the sixth official member of the Ginyu Force. Having heard about the Warrior from Ginyu, Frieza decides to scout the Warrior for the Frieza Force, and beings training the Warrior as their new Master. Upon completing their training under Frieza, Frieza makes the Future Warrior a member of Frieza's Honor Guard.

Xenoverse 2

Main article: Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

Prologue

In the opening animated Time Patroller recruitment video, Mecha Frieza getting cut in two by Future Trunks is briefly shown when Chronoa is telling perspective Time Patrollers to avoid altering history like Future Trunks did.

In the opening Prologue of Xenoverse 2, a scroll containing the events of the Genocide of the Saiyans in Age 737 is shown. Frieza observes Planet Vegeta from within his spaceship and notes it will be the last time he gazes on the planet, before spotting Bardock who desperately fights to avert his planet's fate. While fighting Frieza's soldiers, Bardock is momentarily distracted by a vision of his son Kakarot confronting 1st Frieza on Namek. After the vision ends Bardock frees himself from the soldier's holding on to him and demands Frieza show himself. Frieza appears in his hoverchair and Bardock hears Frieza state, "So the legendary Super Saiyan has finally shown up." which is the result of another one of Bardock's visions causing the scene to shift, to Age 779 during Frieza's revenge. As a result, Frieza appears to Bardock to morph into Golden Frieza as a result of Bardock's vision. Bardock is shocked by Frieza's sudden change, before noticing his son as a Super Saiyan Blue and witnesses SSGSS Goku clashing with Golden Frieza before his vision ends with the explosion produced by Goku and Frieza's clash. After this final vision, Bardock determined to change the future, creates a Riot Javelin which he throws at Frieza. However Frieza creates a Supernova which consumes the blast which Bardock and Planet Vegeta are caught in leading to the planet's destruction. The scene then shifts back to the scroll which unravels before being stop by Turles foot, leading to him Lord Slug, Mira, and Towa being shown, along with the mysterious Masked Saiyan.

Ruckus on Planet Namek Saga

Like in Xenoverse, Frieza is fought in the main story during the Battle on Planet Namek in Age 762. He is first seen alongside Zarbon and Dodoria during the attack on Moori's village right after Krillin and Gohan rescue Dende. Due to Towa's Dark Magic, Frieza tells both Dodoria and Zarbon to go after them, allowing Zarbon to prevent Krillin and the others from escaping when Krillin blinds Dodoria with the Solar Flare. Fortunately, the Time Patrol sends the second Future Warrior to help by time for Krillin to escape.

The Galactic Emperor Saga

Eventually, the Warrior discovers that Lord Slug and Turles are working with Towa and Mira, causing them to interfere with the Battle on Planet Namek in an attempt to steal the Namekian Dragon Balls for themselves. During Frieza's battle with Nail, he is powered up by Towa, and the Warrior is sent to aid him in buying time for Dende and the others. However, while they are distracted by Dark Frieza, Turles and Slug steal the Namekian Dragon Balls. The Warrior is forced to leave after Nail informs Frieza he was only buying time, causing Frieza to rush off. The Warrior manages to stop Turles and Slug by traveling further into the past by traveling back to the Time Nest and using the Time Scroll again and manages to defeat them with the help of Xeno Trunks. They then return to aid the others against the enraged Frieza. Vegeta is killed like in the original timeline, and Goku arrives though he is eventually forced to use the Spirit Bomb. Still, it fails to kill Frieza. Frieza wounds Piccolo and kills Krillin, causing Goku to transform into Super Saiyan. However, this time Goku takes the Killer Ball attack head-on instead of dodging, and thus the Future Warrior is not forced to protect them as their predecessor did in Xenoverse. The Warrior joins Super Saiyan Goku in fight Frieza, who uses Destroy the Planet! to destroy Namek but holds back saving Goku and his allies as he had in the original history. However, as Goku mentions Frieza holding back, Cooler appears and admonishes his brother for his weakness, to the shock of Frieza, Goku, and the Future Warrior. Frieza inquires why his brother is there, and Cooler reveals Towa had aided him in traveling through time to prevent his brother's humiliating defeat at the hands of Goku. As a result, the two brothers team up to kill Goku and the Future Warrior, before powering up to their full power, 100% for Frieza and Cooler takes on his Fourth Transformation. However Cooler is defeated by the Warrior causing him to fall into what is left of Namek's molten core, and Goku is left to compete his fight with Frieza alone as Dende uses the Namekian Dragon Balls to transport everyone one except Goku and Frieza to Earth like in the original timeline. For defeating Cooler and Frieza, Chronoa awards the Future Warrior with a Flying License which serves as proof of their status as an elite Time Patroller, allowing them to legally use Flight in Conton City.

The Emperor's Return Saga

Later Frieza is revived in Age 779, though Towa interferes, causing Cooler to be revived using the Dragon Balls' second wish. Cooler is later transformed into Metal Cooler, and it is implied he trained with his brother aiding him in unlocking his Golden Form, making much more potent. The Warrior aids the Z Fighters in holding off Frieza's dark magic enhanced army and fights the tyrant once more to buy time for Goku and Vegeta to arrive. Eventually, Goku and Vegeta appear. Super Saiyan Blue Goku and the Future Warrior fight Frieza together. Still, Whis, who had arrived with Beerus for the food promised by Bulma, notes the presence of Metal Cooler, who reveals himself and reveals how he was revived. Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta and the Warrior step up to face him while Goku continues fighting Frieza. However, Beerus is contacted by Chronoa, who states that Mira and Towa are attacking the Time Nest and requests their assistance despite the role Whis plays in Frieza's defeat. As a result, when Frieza resorts to his Earth Breaker, Goku and all those saved by Whis are killed by the Earth's destruction, save for the Future Warrior, who is pulled out just in time by Xeno Trunks. The Warrior learns that Towa hacked the Time Patrol's communication systems and pretended to be Chronoa to lure Whis and Beerus away, altering the events of Age 779. Beerus is outraged by her wicked deception of him and is convinced by Chronoa to aid the Time Patrol in fixing it. Whis aids the Warrior with Temporal Do-Over, allowing them to stop Frieza's Earth Breaker with a Ki Blast and Vegeta swears they will not allow him to pull the same move twice. This causes Golden Frieza and Metal Cooler to power up to their Supervillain forms, however they are defeated by the combined might of the two Super Saiyan Blues and the Future Warrior. Goku thanks the Warrior after the fight and promises to repay them, leading to him aiding the Future Warrior in the final battle with Mira in his final form.

The Masked Saiyan Saga

Having learned that Bardock is the Masked Saiyan, Xeno Trunks and the Future Warrior investigate Age 737 to learn more. They witness first Form Frieza use his Supernova to destroy Planet Vegeta like he did in the prologue. However it is revealed that Towa and Mira used a Wormhole to save Bardock from being killed. Xeno Trunks and the Future Warrior observe this and follow the Time Breaker's past selves to Earth in Age ???, where they are confronted by Masked Saiyan and Towa's present self. During the fight, it is implied that after being saved by the wormhole, Bardock escaped into the distant past presumably resulting in his encounter with Frieza's ancestor Chilled and his transformation into a Super Saiyan, leading to Chilled's death and creating a time paradox that leads to Chilled passing on knowledge of the Super Saiyans to his descendants. It is also implied that Towa and Mira captured at some point after this, as the SSJ Bardock's battle with Chilled is mentioned to be considered an official part of history as Frieza Race Time Patroller Jierra was sent back in time to ensure Chilled survived his injuries long enough to pass on the knowledge of the Super Saiyans to his descendants.

Frieza's Spaceship Rift

Before the main story of Xenoverse 2, the Demon Scientist Towa tricks Navel into taking one of the Distorted Time Eggs she created in a failed attempt to replicate Tokitoki's Egg artificially, onto Frieza's Spaceship in a timeline when Frieza was still in power. This creates a massive time rift around Frieza's Spaceship in Conton City and is contained in a Time Miniature by Chronoa, who finds that the rifts are large and stable. She sends several Time Patrollers to investigate the cause by having them go undercover under the pretense of joining Frieza's army. The Frieza Race Future Warrior is one of those Time Patrollers and is seen investigating the rift in the prologue where he watches Ginyu drilling some low ranking soldiers. Frieza walks by commenting on his army's growing strength while noting the lack of skilled fighters and decides he must do something himself to change that. The warrior is later called off to tend to a critical mission given by Chronoa. Later they are asked to visit the various large time rifts, including Frieza's Spaceship.

After bringing an item to Appule, they are let inside the ship to join Frieza's army to investigate without coming into contact with Frieza. The warrior passes Frieza's test. From here on, they are forced to choose between two factions led by Zarbon and Dodoria, who are vying for Frieza's favor. Frieza encourages this in-fighting as it will weed out the weaker members. Frieza watches the warrior's growth as they end up challenging the rival faction leader alongside the leader of the faction they choose, though the rival leader is spared. Frieza decides to give them a second chance by demoting them somewhat. Eventually, the warrior grows tired of the faction leader, challenges and defeats them, causing the leader to submit to their former underling. Frieza and Captain Ginyu are both impressed, causing Ginyu to offer them a chance to join the Ginyu Force, and they pass becoming a member of the Elite Mercenary group. However, the warrior eventually challenges and defeats the entire Ginyu Force, catching both Cooler and Frieza's attention, forcing the warrior to choose between the two brother's factions.

Eventually, the brother faction the Warrior chose confronts the rival faction, which is defeated, forcing the other brother to submit. If Frieza is chosen, the Warrior becomes Frieza's top henchman and retains his status as Emperor of Universe 7 within the rift's timeline. Suppose Cooler is selected, he usurpers the title of Emperor of Universe 7 and gains control of the Frieza's faction, which he places under the Warrior's command. Afterward, either brother realizes that the other will train to grow stronger and asks the Warrior to be their sparring partner. If they serve Frieza, they help him unlock his Golden Form, while if they serve Cooler, they help him unlock his Metal Cooler form. If the Warrior is a Frieza Clansmen, they will seek to claim the throne of Emperor of Universe 7 from either Golden Frieza or Metal Cooler, depending on their faction resulting in them defeating them and becoming recognizes as Emperor of Universe 7 by both brothers. However, they plan to regain control and defeat them. Wanting to prove their superiority, they both help the Warrior obtain their Golden Form to defeat them at their best. After obtaining the form, both brothers are stratified that at least the honor of the Frieza Clan is secured as one of them is the current ruler of the Universe, though they both still plan to defeat the Warrior someday. The Warrior eventually obtains the Distorted Time Egg from Navel, which is given to Chronoa.

Frieza's Siege

Main article: Frieza's Siege In the events of the first free update DLC, in Age 852 Frieza and his army invades Conton City after his spaceship travels through a wormhole. It is strongly implied that the ship comes from the Frieza's Spaceship anomaly's timeline as various Frieza force members make references to the Warrior being a member and their selected factions. Ultimately the Future Warrior and other Time Patrols manage to fight off Frieza, his army, the Ginyu Force, his brother, and the Metal Cooler Corps.

Infinite History Saga

Main article: Infinite History Saga During the Infinite History Saga as part of the Extra Pack 2 DLC, the Future Warrior can select Frieza as his partner allowing join the Future Warrior in taking part in the game's new story. Dragon Ball 30th Anniversary Special Manga

Main article: Dragon Ball 30th Anniversary Special Manga Akira Toriyama (depicted as Robotoriyama) meets Goku and Vegeta on Planet Namek and tells them it is the 30th anniversary of Dragon Ball, Goku is not very impressed since they were not actually running for 30 years straight, annoying Toriyama who tells them he should be thankful he made them famous. Vegeta retorts that he should be the one thanking them, as it was thanks to them Dragon Ball lasted so long. Toriyama bites back that Vegeta was originally meant to die and that it was only thanks to Toriyama that he lived, while Vegeta says that it was actually because Toriyama was too scared to kill off a character as popular as him. Frieza shows up, in his first form and with a halo, and is annoyed that Toriyama had him killed off on Namek. Flustered, Toriyama says that thanks to that Frieza became the best villain character ever and that's why he brought him back for Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’, though Frieza is annoyed that Toriyama apparently forgot how to draw him.[14]

Dragon Ball Fusions

Main article: Dragon Ball Fusions In the main story, Tekka's Team is asked by the Ginyu Force to break down the barrier over Frieza's Spaceship as they believe someone important to them is trapped in there. However Tekka's Team finds no one inside and reports back to the Ginyu Force who relieved to know the truth thank them by teaching them Five-Way Fusion which causes Goten and Trunks to teach them the Fusion Dance. Ziku detects a powerful energy coming from a time hole near the Spaceship and travel their with the Ginyu Force to open it. From the rift they created the cocooned Frieza emerges from Earth's Hell from the period after his failed revenge in Age 779. Frieza is freed of his cocoon and noticing Kid Goku, Goten, and Kid Trunks he orders the Ginyu Force to kill them despite Ginyu revealing that they were the ones that freed him. Jeice and Guldo fuse into Gulce while Recoome and Burter fuse into Recurter. Ginyu offers to fuse with Frieza but he refuses and leaves the defeat of Tekka's Team to the fused Ginyu Force members and Captain Ginyu, however they were defeated.

Frieza and the Ginyu Force abandon their Spaceship and flee. Trunks decides to have his mom turn Frieza's Spaceship into a mobile base for the team. The Ginyu Force teach their master the Five-Way Fusion technique, and after Tekka's Team defeat Perfect Cell, he teams up with Cell to take revenge on them and Adult Goku. They convince Tekka's rival Pinich to let them join his team for the Timespace Tournament. At the Tournament, Tekka's Team is surprised to discover Frieza and Cell on Pinich's team. As the fight drags on, Frieza and Cell convince Pinich, Wanta, and Paprika to perform Ultra Fusion, which results in creating the Ultimate Ultra Fusion, Ultra Pinich. However, Frieza and Cell gain control of the fusion and attempt to kill everyone, including Super Saiyan Blue Goku using a Death Ball and almost succeed. Still, Whis rewinds time, and Beerus stops the Death Ball forcing Ultra Pinich to flee. Tekka's Team and Goku convince Beerus to let them save Pinich, Wanta, and Paprika as they are innocent and were manipulated by Frieza and Cell.

They eventually track down Ultra Pinich and defeat him, forcing him to use a Power Ball to transform into a Golden Great Ape which he had been saving to confront Beerus. However, as Great Ape Pinich takes damage Pinich gains control over the fusion due to Pinich's Saiyan nature being awakened by his transformation. Absorbing a Super Spirit Bomb created by everyone at the tournament, the Ultra Fusion of Tekka's Team to become stronger than Beerus, allow them to defeat Great Ape Pinich who falls through a rift that causes him to defuse. Tekka follows after them and reunites with Pinich. Angered by being thwarted, Cell and Frieza perform EX-Fusion to create Celluza. Tekka and Pinich perform EX-Fusion as well, and defeat Celluza with True RA Pinich Punch.

After defeating the Legendary Champion, Tekka's Team can find a rift near a destroyed section of The Lookout that leads to Sub-Event: "The Return of F" in which they encounter Frieza from another timeline. Frieza transforms into Golden Frieza and fights Tekka's Team. Defeating him completes the sub-event and makes Frieza and Golden Frieza scoutable allowing both to be recruited by KOing either of them with a Zenkai Attack in battle.

In addition to Celluza, Frieza can perform EX-Fusion with his brother Cooler to create Coolieza, or with Captain Ginyu to create Ginyuza.

FighterZ

Main article: Dragon Ball FighterZ Frieza is the main protagonist of the Enemy Warrior Arc, where he is the fighter summoned by Android 21 to house the player's soul as part of an experiment; he is one of the many fighters revived by Android 21 via the Namekian Dragon Balls. As a result, Frieza himself is stripped of his own free will as his body becomes unmovable when the soul disagrees, which sparks an outrage, however Android 16 assures Frieza that his true self will surface the longer he fights with the soul linked to him.

After finding and recruiting Nappa, Captain Ginyu and the rest of the Ginyu Force (who had also been revived by the Dragon Balls), Frieza decides to set out on a quest to find the person responsible for not only implanting a soul in his body, but suppressing his and the other fighters' power by emitting long-range, ki-suppressing waves. During this quest he constantly takes his frustration out on the soul with verbal tirades, but eventually comes to terms that the soul inside his body is actually a capable fighter. It is also revealed that Frieza's DNA was among those whose cells were combined by Dr. Gero's Supercomputer to form the genetic makeup of Android 21 who was created from the Earthling mother of Dr. Gero's deceased son with was used as the template for Android 16.

He eventually encounters the revived Cell (for the first time as their encounter in filler never occurred) who explains Android 21 had tried to control Cell with an artificial soul, but he bent it to his will. Though Frieza's underlings dislike his arrogant attitude and lack of respect, Frieza accepts Cell's offer of an alliance to take down Android 21, who is the Red Ribbon Army leader after Dr. Gero's death as Cell has no interest in it or its goals. Their team-up causes Android 21 to send an artificial soul linked to Android 18 to deal with them while they are still weak. Android 21 reveals herself, and she notes that she does not dismiss the idea of universal conquest. However, it is not her primary goal, which is to consume and absorb them and the Z Fighters using the clones as only appetizers to satisfy her hunger until as is ready for the main course. However, Android 18 is defeated, though Android 21 notices Goku and Krillin approaching and plays the victim claiming Android 18 was injured protecting her from the villains, which the two Z Fighters readily believe as Krillin angrily steps up to avenge his wife alongside Goku. However, after the battle, they notice Android 21 has gotten away. The villains inform the Z Fighters they had been played, and Android 21 is enemy to them both. Goku suggests they put aside their differences for the time being and mentions Bulma has invented a machine that blocks the waves, which intrigues Frieza and Cell. They assist the Z Fighters in protecting Bulma's ship, containing the device from 21's clones.

Frieza is left without much of a choice in the matter but to join forces with them as the soul convinces Frieza it is necessary to defeat Android 21 forcing Frieza to agree lest he wants to be stuck as a statue, though both Frieza and Cell note it is a temporary truce. While the concept of having to work with Goku disgusts him greatly, he is willing to fight for a mutual cause, even having a few laughs at the expense of fighters like Gotenks and Yamcha.

Eventually, Android 21 sends Android 16 to eliminate Frieza, his henchman, Cell, and the Z Fighters. In reality, she is aware he has been secretly working to thwart her as he was the one who used the soul linking system without her approval. Frieza and Cell have no qualms about destroying Android 16, though Krillin is reluctant as he sees 16 as a friend, though hopes he will give up before he is destroyed. Android 16 is defeated, though Android 21 shows up and reveals her true form, which is very Majin like in overall appearance while having a tail like Frieza's (presumably influenced by Frieza and his father's cells as she has Perfect Cell's genetic makeup), pointy Namekian like ears, and white hair (presumably influenced by her Earthling and Saiyan cells) making her a new type of Bio-Android designed to succeed Cell who the computer viewed as a failure for his defeat and the destruction of Present Cell. She reveals she sent Android 16 to die for his betrayal and proceeds to attack, but suddenly she weakens, causing Cell and Frieza to attempt to kill her, though Android 16 oddly shields her. However, Android 21 cruelly reveals she faked her weakness, knowing Android 16 would shield her all her to destroy him herself, which she does, showing she has inherited Frieza's sadism and cruelty. However, Android 21 states she is not ready to feed on them just yet and leaves.

Realizing the clones are the only thing keeping Android 21's hunger in check as well as depriving her of them will prevent her from becoming more potent than she is, Frieza convinces his henchman and allies that eliminating them should be their top priority as it will be the best way to lure her out in addition to being a fitting way to punishing her for creating clones of him. His plan worked as Android 21 was outraged when she noticed the number of clones was depleting rapidly and realizes Frieza is likely behind it. Her outrage, combined with her growing hunger, causes Android 21 to lose her composer, seek out her enemies, take revenge, and consume them.

Frieza would lead their combined forces against Android 21 in a volcanic region resembling the remains of Planet Namek (in other Arcs, the battle instead takes place on the Sacred World of the Kai). However, Android 21 proves to be too powerful despite their combined efforts, so they employ a risky plan involving cranking Bulma's machine to maximum output. However, the machine leaves everyone but Frieza, Cell, and Goku powerless, though restores enough of Frieza, Cell, and Goku's strength that they are able to destroy Android 21 together with a combined energy attack. However, true to their word, Frieza and Cell decide to end their truce with the Z Fighters as their power is restored with Android 21's death, though Cell decides to remain allied with Frieza as they share a common enemy in the Z Fighters. At the same time, Nappa wants to take revenge on Goku and Vegeta, and the Ginyu Force are happy to follow Frieza's order as it allows them to make up for their past defeat on Namek. However, the outcome of this battle is not shown. Thus it is unknown if the revived Frieza Force and Cell defeated their enemies or if they all sent to Earth's Hell after being killed again.

Goku, however, tells Vegeta to wait as he tries to convince Frieza to promise to mend his evil ways they'll let him go to live on his planet in peace. Frieza, unfamiliar with Goku's personality, is taken aback that he would show him mercy. Froze, who respects Frieza despite his evil, suggests he take their offer.

"Silence, child! I am the strongest being in all of space! You should all be dead! Slain--by me! YOU MUST BE!"
— The Anomalous Frieza rejecting Froze's suggestion in World Mission

However, Frieza tells the Frieza Clan Hero to be silent, declaring himself the strongest being in all of space and that they should all be dead, slain by him, before trying to kill Froze for daring to suggest he accept Goku's mercy. Realizing Frieza won't back down, Goku and Beat both attack Frieza with their Kamehamehas simultaneously resulting in the Ancestor-Descendant Kamehameha.

"NAAAAAAARGH! This isn't the last... you've seen of me! I'll... be back! For... VENGEANCE...! GROAAAAAAAAARGH!"
— The Anomalous Frieza's last words before being killed by Goku & Beat in World Mission

The attack hits Frieza who swears this isn't the last they have seen of him and he'll be back for vengeance. With the anomaly fixed, the game world reverts back to the original history with game world Future Trunks slaying Mecha Frieza and King Cold.

2-Star Normal Mission - "The Greatest Power in the Universe"

However, he is unable to prevent Mecha Frieza and King Cold from being fatally injured by Beat and Note, though Kuriza and his henchmen are saved by the intervention of the Cooler Force who admonishes his father and brother for being a disgrace to their clan before they die.

Supersonic Warriors
Frieza (Immortal body)

Frieza after wishing for an immortal body in Supersonic Warriors

In Frieza's scenario in Dragon Ball Z: Supersonic Warriors, Frieza's life is the same as in the main series up until his final battle with Goku: Frieza manages to defeat Super Saiyan Goku and escapes Namek with Captain Ginyu just before it explodes. After returning to Planet Frieza, Frieza upgrades himself with cybernetic armor, and he and Ginyu go to hunt down Vegeta and Gohan. Frieza defeats and kills Super Saiyan Vegeta, and then heads to Capsule Corporation where the Z Fighters and their allies are trying to revive Goku. Krillin tries to stop Frieza but is defeated after running out of Senzu Beans, though he buys enough time for Goku to be revived. Goku confronts Frieza and requests West City not to be involved in their fight, but Frieza destroys the city against Goku's will. Gohan arrives and he and his father transform into Super Saiyans but, even with their combined power, they are defeated and killed by Frieza. While Frieza heads to his ship to relax, Ginyu takes the Dragon Radar and heads to find the Dragon Balls for Frieza. However, Dr. Gero sends Android 18 assisted by Android 17 and Android 16 to kill Frieza, but Frieza defeats them. Frieza then meets Ginyu, who has collected four of the Dragon Balls, and the two head to Gero's base, the location of the last three Dragon Balls. When Ginyu goes inside to get the Dragon Balls, he is attacked by Gero and has his energy taken. Frieza is confronted by Gero but tells the doctor that he will not destroy him if he accepts to work for him. Gero briefly thinks about it but then refuses and attacks. Frieza defeats Gero and wishes for an immortal body, stripping him of his cybernetic upgrades and also causing him to no longer have to power up to 100%, making him identical in appearance to his regular Final form. After he fused with Kami, Piccolo quickly heads to fight the now immortal Frieza but is also defeated. Frieza kills off mankind and makes Earth the center of his empire under the name of Planet Frieza No. 80. Twenty years later, Present Cell awakens in his Perfect form thanks to adjustments by Gero before his death. After being told who he is, Cell attacks and destroys Frieza's castle and new elite force. Frieza appears and confronts Present Cell, and the two have a brief discussion before engaging in one last battle. Frieza defeats Present Cell, who reveals that he can regenerate as much as he wants. Frieza realizes that he can kill Present Cell only by destroying all of his cells and hits him with a Death Ball, destroying him and the Earth. Frieza then leaves and conquers every planet in the universe without opposition.

In Ginyu's scenario in Supersonic Warriors, Ginyu manages to defeat almost all of the Z Fighters and the Androids. In the finale, Ginyu and Frieza defeat Gohan and Piccolo, and successfully collect all seven of Earth's Dragon Balls. Happily, Frieza tells Ginyu that he can have the first wish and Frieza will take the others. Ginyu's wish resurrects the Ginyu Force and then Shenron disappears. The shocked Frieza is told by the injured Piccolo that the Earth's Dragon Balls only grant one wish. In a rage, Frieza kills Piccolo and then attacks the Ginyu Force out of anger at them having their wish granted. Ginyu manages to calm Frieza down but, still angry, Frieza destroys the Earth. Ginyu and Frieza then return to Planet Frieza and resume their normal lives.

In Dragon Ball Z: Supersonic Warriors 2, there is a what-if scenario where Frieza arrives on Planet Namek in his Final Form and decides to take care of any problems himself. He kills Vegeta and then fights and defeats Super Saiyan Goku but is caught in Planet Namek's explosion. Frieza is found by King Cold and rebuilt as Mecha Frieza. He then heads to Earth, fights and is defeated by Future Trunks, but he and his army escape to their spaceship. Frieza returns when the world has been decimated by the Androids and uses his new power to kill Future Trunks and Goku. Frieza then takes their Dragon Balls and becomes the Immortal King of the Universe.

Another scenario in Supersonic Warriors 2 has Cooler sent by King Cold to assist Frieza on Namek. After several failed assassination attempts, Frieza goes to fight Cooler and his squad. After killing them, he claims the Big Gete Star as his own and uses it to help him rule the universe.

Budokai
Budokai - Frieza Immortal

Frieza gaining immortality in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai

In Dragon Ball Z: Budokai, in a two part what-if saga, "Raging Frieza" and "The True Ruler", Frieza becomes enraged when finding out his goal of wishing for eternal life with the Namekian Dragon Balls will not happen (as he does in the main timeline). Instead of fighting Vegeta, he first defeats Gohan. When Piccolo arrives, he fights Frieza but is defeated. Frieza then powers up to his final form and kills Vegeta with the Death Beam. When arriving and finding most of his friends killed, Goku's rage builds up, and he transforms into a Super Saiyan. Frieza goes to his 100% full power and eventually kills Goku. He then sees Porunga and wishes for eternal life. After becoming immortal, Frieza proceeds to destroy Namek and then heads to Earth to blow it up.

In Frieza's arcade mode in Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai - Another Road, Frieza enters into the World Martial Arts Tournament. After he defeats all of his opponents, he tells the World Tournament Announcer that he is the ruler of the universe and that he is going to sell the planet, but the announcer believes that he is joking. Frieza threatens the announcer, but then decides not to bother and instead celebrates his victory in peace.

Budokai Tenkaichi series

In Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi, in the what-if saga "The Cosmic Emperor", Frieza manages to defeat Super Saiyan Goku, but is still unable to take gain eternal youth. Frieza eventually confronts Cooler and manages to defeat him. Then, Frieza goes on to take complete control of the universe, even killing Future Trunks, with Cooler as his elite right-hand man.

In Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2, in the what-if saga "Beautiful Treachery", Zarbon learns about the wishing powers of the Dragon Balls and betrays Frieza: Zarbon informs Cooler in order to use him as a distraction against Frieza. Frieza and Cooler's forces go to war against each other, with Frieza (in his first form) and Cooler fighting each other head on. Frieza eventually senses Porunga's summoning and ceases fighting Cooler to check. Frieza proceeds to battle Zarbon and Goku before leaving to fight Cooler again. Frieza and Cooler begin fighting at maximum power and end up destroying Namek.

Two what-if stories include Frieza in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3: "Galaxy Battle" and "Unexpected Help". "Galaxy Battle" is the third story Kibito Kai shows to Goku: Frieza did not plan on killing the Saiyans until around Age 762, and the Saiyans attack Frieza. After the Saiyans defeat most of his forces and King Vegeta defeats King Cold, Frieza in his first form personally arrives and defeats Bardock, before slaughtering both King Vegeta and Prince Vegeta. Bardock remains and uses up all of his energy to kill Frieza, but dies in the process. "Unexpected Help" is the final world that Kibito Kai shows to Goku: when Mecha Frieza and King Cold arrive on Earth and prepare to terrorize its people, they are confronted by Spike the Devil Man. Mecha Frieza fights Spike and is immune to all of the Devilman's attacks until Spike uses his Devilmite Beam, killing the tyrant due to the evil in his heart. Frieza's remaining soldiers and father follow soon after.

Battle of Z

Frieza appears in several what-if scenarios in Battle of Z.

If Frieza is used in the scenario "Revolting Soldiers", Frieza's army of 150 Frieza Soldiers will claim that they believe that Frieza will wipe them out like he did the Saiyans. Frieza tells them that this claim is ridiculous but proceeds to wipe out all 150 of them anyway due to their treachery.

Frieza also appears in the scenario "Spirit Bomb", in which he manages to finally get his wish to become invincible and immortal (also gaining the ability to create clones of himself). Frieza's clones battle Goku, Krillin, Gohan, and Piccolo while Frieza watches from atop a mountain. Upon the defeat of the clones, Frieza himself comes down and begins to dominate the Z Fighters in battle until Goku gathers energy from all over the universe into a Super Ultra Spirit Bomb and blasts Frieza down into Namek's core.
