King Ghidorah (キングギドラ, Kingu Gidora) is a fictional kaijū (Japanese giant monster) from the Godzilla franchise. He is considered Godzilla's arch enemy and terrorizes Wonder Island. King Ghidorah appears in several works by Akira Toriyama.

He is a three-headed dragon with two wings and golden skin.

Biography

Wonder Island

King Ghidorah in Wonder Island

King Ghidorah appears in the second chapter of Wonder Island, and attacks the main protagonist, Dirty Harry, when the latter arrives on Wonder Island. However, P-Man intervenes and defeats King Ghidorah with a Mouth Energy Wave, thus saving Dirty Harry's life.

Dr. Slump

King Ghidorah makes a cameo in the eighth chapter of Dr. Slump, "The Big-Small Gun!". He appears along with Gamera and Godzilla in "The Great Arale-Eye Caper: Part 1", going to the Norimaki Residence to play with Gatchan. The King Ghidra Heights region in Penguin Village is named after him. King Ghidorah is mentioned by Taro Soramame in "The Ho-yo-yo Gang, Part 2".

In Dragon Ball: Shenron no Nazo, enemies similar to King Ghidorah, but with only two heads instead of three, appear notably in Pilaf's Castle.
