Two Babarians

In the anime version, the Babarians are shown on their planet, as 2 of the inhabitants are fighting with each other. Zamasu claims that they should destroy the species because they will never learn to be civilized, to which Gowasu is shocked by this response. To prove him wrong, Gowasu and Zamasu travel 1000 years to the future, to which the civilization has somewhat advanced to create a small culture, yet they still remain a somewhat angry and aggressive race, as 2 of the inhabitants are seen fighting, and 2 other members of the race are seen possibly attempting to break up the fight.

At another time, two Babarian clans have entered a violent war. Suddenly, a Babarian clan survivor approached Gowasu and Zamasu from behind and was about to strike them down but Zamasu easily sent him crashing against the mountain and collapsed to the ground out of breath. Refusing to be beaten, he rushed at the Supreme Kais until he was split in half by Zamasu's God Split Cut.

Babari Leader

Leader Babari stops the conflict.

In the manga version it develops in a similar way. Gowasu and Zamasu travel to Babari where they witness two Babarians attacking another to steal the giant fish that he has caught. The Babarian tries to protect his food but is easily defeated by the other two. Before the winners can get hold of the fish, a fourth Babarian crushes them by throwing a boulder at them, and he gets the fish.

After witnessing this, Gowasu and Zamasu travel 1000 years into the future, and upon reaching a Babari village, Gowasu is excited to see that they are managed to create a type of civilization, with music and writing. When investigating a little more they discover several Babarians battling each other. This only confirms the opinion that Zamasu has about mortals. However Gowasu sees that the Babarians ceasing the conflict when their leader approaches them, revering him.

Gowasu tries to warn his student about it, but a Babarian tries to attack the pair from behind, but he is instantly knocked back by Zamasu. Despite Gowasu's orders for them to leave, Zamasu, momentarily losing his reason, kills the attacking Babarian in cold blood.

Trivia[]

  • Babarian is a pun on the term "barbarian".
  • The depiction of the Babarians in the future could be considered a preemptive and possibly unintentional foreshadowing of the resolution of the Tournament of Power, where Android 17 restored all erased universes with the Super Dragon Balls; without this plot point, the destruction of Universe 10 would have contradicted their previously established future existence.
