Forum Gokū vs. Superman.. END OF ALL FAN-BATTLES...! ~

[[Category:{{{1}}}|Gokū vs. Superman.. END OF ALL FAN-BATTLES...! ~]]

in Dragon Ball GT, Gokū, Trunks, & Pan venture across the Galaxy, in search of the Black-Star Dragon Balls. when the trio find themselves on a Metal(金) based Planet, known as M-2, Gokū asks how the machine mutants' of M-2 can walk through physical objects, hinting that he too could learn this technique if he decided to put his mind to it. well, General Rilldo has the ability to morph/combine himself with anything with properties that are Metal(金) based. in Chinese Wŭ Xíng (五行), 金, Metal, is one of the Five Elements. so Gokū could probably learn to Metal-(金)+bend as well; Superman is 'the man of steel', just imagine if Gokū Metal-(金)+bent Superman.. @_@

Metal(金) is a form of Earth(土), & Gokū is a master of the Highest Element: /Sora(空) - /Sora(空) being the opposite of Earth(土)/Ji orTsuchi[地, meaning "World", represents the hard, solid objects of the earth. The most basic example of chi is in a stone. Stones are highly resistant to movement or change, as is anything heavily influenced by chi. In people, the bones, muscles and tissues are represented by chi. Emotionally, chi is predominantly associated with stubbornness, collectiveness, stability, physicality, and gravity. It is a desire to have things remain as they are; a resistance to change. In the mind, it is confidence. When under the influence of this chi mode or "mood", we are aware of our own physicality and sureness of action. (Note: This is a separate concept from the energy-force, pronounced in Chinese as (also written ch'i) and in Japanese as ki, and written alternatively as 気, 氣, or 气.], which would help further conclude why Gokū was in such awe of the machine mutants' ability to walk through physical objects at ease, as well as Metal-(金)+bend.

everything in the Dragon Ball Universe far surpasses the Marvel & DC Uniserve[s]..

JUST SAIYAN...! :+) ~

Hahaha[]

Yeah man I'm on goku's side but he wouldn't try to metal bend superman. Superman is not literally a man of steel haha. Thanks for the laugh--Ssj3gogeta96 (talk) 06:30, April 14, 2013 (UTC)ssj3gogeta96

..so I just looked up the reason Superman is referred to as the 'man of steel'.. *face palm* xD but just to put into perspective, Gokū & the Zetto+戦士's are highly capable of much more than most Superheros.. Gohan as the Great-Saiyaman easily tops all Marvel & DC Superheros combined...! I never really watched Superman.. was always watching DBZ.. so my apologizes everyone.. at least we all got a good laugh from that Jackie Chan troll meme...! :+) ~

I really *HATE* Goku vs. Stuperdman Hypotheticals....[]

...But before i explain why I hate these comparisons let's look at why they exist.

People tend to notice the striking similarities between the backstories of these two famous characters and say, "DUDE!!! Goku and Superman? They should totally fight, man. It'd be fucking awesome, dude, like totally and stuff."

Let me set the record straight.... No, NO, and HELL NO.

"But, but they're practically the same mofo, right? Goku is just the japanese Superman."

Shut up. I hate you. Superman does not deserve to be uttered in the same breath as Goku or even Mr. Popo. Period.

To the Superman fans and nostalgists, I really am sorry to burst your bubble but... someone has to stand for truth, justice and the American way. And by American way I mean the way American entertainment would be a dark wasteland landmarked by bland, unimaginative, innovationless midden heaps with but few rare gems in the rough were it not for the Japanese. Without the Japanese, America would totally suck balls. Thanks to the Japanese, America had the motivation to be awesome in WWII. Thanks to the Japanese,  American's have quality technological gizmos, graphic literature, animation, and samurai/ninja themes in western entertainment. That's right. No Showdown in Little Tokyo, No Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - which are both about as American as you can get, but impossible without the influence of Japanese culture.

"But what the fuck does this have to do with Goku and Superman?", you may ask.

Everything, young Padawan. Everything....

This Japanese/American dynamic is no less influential within the ubiquitous Superman vs. Goku concept.

Superman represents the close-minded, sterile, saccharin coated dogshit Americans were spoon-fed from birth into believing and accepting as high art before Japanese and really any other culture or opposing viewpoint was allowed into the public conscienceness. Superman was in many ways, propaganda for the socially acceptable white-bread culture to hammer malleable youth into respectable American citizens. I'm not going to go so far as to say that Superman is responsible for say, the Cold War or Jim Crow laws. But, rather, it was a reflection of the socially acceptable standards that people were expected to meet. Clark Kent was an unassuming nerdy guy who rises to his social and civic duty at the drop of a hat, the ruin of a perfectly good shirt and the use of a telephone booth in a manner inconsistant with it's intended use. It was what society wanted to reinforce in young people. And the sentiments of civic pride and duty I can get on board with. But that's about as far as my respect for Superman goes. The premise standing alone from any ulterior social programming, is beyond absurd, it's just lame and crappy. Dragon Ball is absurd. But in a funny, mythological, science fictiony kind of way. Superman is a guy who was given every possible path of least resistance. Raised by nice folks. Getting a decent day job. And oh, yeah, getting to live through life with Cheat Codes Activated and every other person on the planet existing only to be saved from eminent doom and to worship the ground you walk on. *ROLLS EYES* The attempts following Superman's initial premise to reconcile these issues were lukewarm at best and in general total fails. And BTW, Green Lantern was one these attempts to revamp or retell the same story in a slightly different manner, to try to make the protagonist more relatable. Matter of fact, 97% of all DC Comic Characters are just a recycle of the Superman plot to fill in all the other abilities Superman doesn't have. Hell Batman sucked ass until Frank Miller got ahold of it. But I digress.

"Ok, man. I get it. You a Superman/DC Comics hater."

Yes. Yes, I am. What of it? ***Exception, Batman of course***

"So, Superman is corny as hell, Drag..."

Let me stop you right there. Superman is corny as hell and that should be the end of it. Motherfucker can't even keep his tighty whities out of the red laundry. Then he wants to, what? Wear them on the OUTSIDE of his blue spandex suit with a gaudy "S" sewn on the chest? And you want me to take that shit seriously? I don't know if he makes me want to laugh, cry, or produce kryptonite tipped ammunition to take his stupid ass out. You want to know the best interpretation of Superman ever in a movie? Chunk from The Goonies. "HEY YOU GUYS!!!" LOL I guess Superman is the source of the term "Retard Strength".

"Dragon Ball is a corny and stupid motherfucker too!!! They be laughing at shit i don't understand. They get all emotional at shit I don't understand and, and... FUCK YOU DUDE!"

Yes Dragon Ball is at times corny. And no the humor and most especially in America, the emotional moments don't translate well. It's partially a culture thing too. But I wouldn't expect an uncultured numbskull such as yourself who worships a generic white dude with a cleft chin donning his gay apparel to be able to grasp such abstractions as there being other cultures other than the one you've experienced in your short, pathetic life.

Yes kids, Akira Toriyama did in fact, parody Superman in some respects. And in others he refined it and made it better. There is a lot of tongue in cheek humor aimed at, what seems to me both Japanese and American culture. It is a little goofy and over the top. Dragon Ball started as what I can only imagine as a fun, campy adventure with tons of action, humor, drama, sexual tension and humor, and evolved as it progressed into Dragon Ball Z into one of the best action animated projects of all time. Does Dragon Ball in any of it's incarnations deserve Pulitzer's or Emmy's? No, probably not. But then again it never meant to. It's fun to watch. Are there things that piss me off about Dragon Ball? Sure. But to compare Superman to Goku? Seriously? Goku would Annihilate Superman. Hell Krillin would Destructo-Disk that fool's head off and the Kryptonian race would be off the Endangered List and on the Extinct once and for all. The Manga is better than the Comic Book. The Anime is better than those crappy movies or animated tv shows with that stupid blocky style. The Superman live action movies are better than the Dragon Ball Evolution movie only by a cunt hair and that really isn't saying much. Fuck Smallville. And Fuck even harder the total fail of Lois and Clark.

Goku himself is superior because he had to work for everything he got. Superman just fell out of the sky and could dominate everything else with impunity and without the psychological benefit of training, competition, actually losing multiple times to learn from experience and the constant threat of increasingly more powerful foes. You can tell me that a person/being/entity is born/created both powerful and benevolent. Or born/created both powerful and relatable. But not powerful, benevolent and relatable. Power corrupts. Especially power gained with little to no effort. Yes, Goku is all these things but he had to work for it. He had to make choices. He could have chosen to live mostly like a human and thus been relatively weak. The training and adventures and impressions he recieved from his friends in his youth shaped him into a good person who had to be aware of his power and the responsibility of a peaceful person to use that power wisely without it changing his identity. Probably the most admirable trait of Goku is that he keeps his levity and protective demeanor all throughout his journey's and massive increases in power. Power to him is mearly a means to protect the things he loves rather than to forcibly take things from other people. Goku made me believe that with enough training and meditation i could Kamehameha Wave the bad guys. Or even focus my energy to fly. With Superman, the audience isn't able to relate to him. At best stand in awe. At worst, well whatever, he's the good guy, he's going to win, nothing can kill him, blah, blah, blah. The writers of Superman said fuck it, we'll give him an impossible personality along with impossible powers.

As for the hypothetical battle... Superman is exactly the type of douchebag that Goku and the Z-Fighters specialize in exterminating. I'll give Superman this.... Goku may actually have to go Super Saiyan 1 to rip his head off and put it on a pike.

"Whatever man, Superman would just ice breath that mofo and..."

Ice Breath? Please. You going to deep freeze a radioactive dude who eats intergalactic tyrants and shits Aquamans? You're adorable. You must be one of those imbeciles with a Superman fitted hat and a cubic zirconia Superman rapper chain, huh?

****Stares at me apparently trying to laser beam eye me..... I'm sure he's losing conscienceness..... Yep. his head exploded.*********

Well, I'll say this: Dragon Ball Z never gave me the impression i could blow my head up by thinking............

****NOTES****

No one on this site that I am aware of has White Knighted for Superman and so there is nothing in this post directed toward anyone in particular although if you know that one person who inexplicably defends the cultural and entertaining value of Superman, please feel free to direct them to this post.

Apologies to Chunk from the Goonies. One of my favorite movies, one of my favorite characters in a movie, and by far my pick for best Superman ever.
