Could Cell go Super Saiyan???

I think he could because he has four differant saiyan cells in him (Vegeta, Nappa, Gohan, Goku).

Kid Boo - Budokai 3SuperKidBuuKid Boo - Budokai 3 01:15, August 21, 2011 (UTC)

Possibly did

His aura in his imperfect form greatly resembled the glowing aura(while powering up to fight 17.)

He did. Technically he always could. When he exploded on King Kai's planet, and then regenerated, his regeneration, combined with the Saiyan ability to become stronger after a near death experience, gave him the ability to also go SSJ2, like Gohan.

I dont believe it XD He Had the Super Saiyan 1 aura which meant he was a false super saiyan

Hello, I do not think he did go super saiyan during any time of the series. It is true though that he has Saiyan blood in him, but that does not mean he can go super saiyan. His aura sort of resembles one, but he is a pure artificial android. And even if he does have saiyan cells in him, and could go super saiyan, why not being able to transform at will like Frieza? He has Frieza's cells too. I am only going by what I have, if you want more detail, feel free to contact X10Kamehameha on his talk page. Thanks {{SUBST:User:Ripto224755/sig2}} 01:55, August 21, 2011 (UTC)Ripto22475

No, Cell is not a saiyan.

Just because Cell has saiyan cells dosen't mean cell can go Super Saiyan. You have to be a saiyan yourself to go SSJ.

The only thing that makes the Saiyans what they are is their genes. Cell has these genes in his Saiyan cells so technically he is part saiyan just like any of the other part saiyan hybrids in the show.

So u guys says he cant go supersayian..think about this

half his cells are from sayians, gohan, goten, and trunks went ssj, im pretty drunk rite now so i cant tell what % of cell is sayian but i thiink its more than 50%, he doesnt have hair to go yellow, so the aura may be the only clue.

Btw. i Would mention Gokue Jr. in my arguement, but he's not cannon, lets keep this somewhat reasonable.

Lol, I should think Goku Jr. is not a cannon that would be horrible. Being a led pipe and firing metal balls out of your mouth... or ass.  He needs to be a Saiyan or at least genes of a saiyan unless that no super saiyan

His forms have similarities like fighting Goku he could have been similar to ssj, then when he fights Gohan he powers up which can be compared to assj. Next he powers up to buff mode which shows similar characteristics of ussj. Finally After the zenkia he shows a form that has power of ssj2 along with the sparks.

In a sense

He's not a saiyan so he can't go Super Saiyan, but he can sort of go "Super", with an aura and stuff. BubblesNoShakuran13Goku 20SSJ4 1 19:02, August 22, 2011 (UTC)

Goku Jr is considered human because 15/16 of his blood is human and 1/16 is saiyan. Over 50% of Cells blood is saiyan and 3 of the sayians he got blood from could turn super saiyan. --

It has never been concluded Goku jr. was 15/16 human and 1/16 saiyan.Stop lying.

Kid Boo - Budokai 3SuperKidBuuKid Boo - Budokai 3 07:47, August 23, 2011 (UTC)
it actually has been concluded by Akira himself as of 2012
Yee but Cell was artificially contructed. BubblesNoShakuran13Goku 20SSJ4 1 18:20, August 23, 2011 (UTC)
I would argue that doesn't really matter. nothing says an artificially constructed being can't go SSJ. Technically he is as much saiyan as Gohan or Trunks (assuming the 50% estimate is correct)
Bio-Broly was an artificial Super Saiyan.

in a way he did, he had the gold aura but hes not a saiyan.

Chi Chi Surprised Sig. . . Where . . . is My . . . Sweet . . . Little . . . Gohan? . . . 00:27, August 23, 2011 (UTC)

Yes, he can go Super Saiyan. He is technically a "Saiyan hybrid", like Gohan and Trunks, and therefore can go Super Saiyan just like them. In addition, when he fights he has the golden aura of an SSJ with the same unique sound effect, both of which no other transformation in the series has, and after his self-destruct he has the aura of an SSJ2 aswell. he does not have the saiyan genes that gohan trunks and goten have

So yes he actually does go SSJ.

I kinda agree with ever1. Cell IS A SAIYAN! he has plenty of saiyan cells. so therefore he technically can and did go SSJ. now that didn't really show itself becuz of blonde hair and the x50 thing but i mean it's honestly a toss-up

Even if he was able to, i don't he could. Because he would not have met the requirements to be able to be a Super Saiyan GohanGoingIntoARockAndroid16Ep184Ssj2EpicgohanscreamgohanGohan ssj2GohanSSIIVsCellNV 00:14, January 20, 2012 (UTC)

He had more than enough power, and when fighting gohan he easily got angry enough to transform

IMO, not only did Cell fail to meet the requirements, but his saiyan cells weren't powerful enough to transform into a super saiyan. Cell's power came largely from his biomechanical enhancements (and presumably Frieza's cells). His Saiyan cells were gathered from saiyans that were too weak to transform, so Cell wouldn't be able to transform unless he trained more. Even if Cell did manage to become super saiyan, it would only power up his saiyan cells, so I don't think he would gain much power. (This is all speculation) FriedEggz1 (talk) 21:06, March 4, 2015 (UTC)

He might have....just look at super perfect cell...

when ya think about it, cell when he went "super perfect" had a ssj2 aura he even had the electrisity with his aura and such. but he has a lot of other cells so the max amount of sayain that cell was is like below pan. so he could but he coulden`t as well. I believe cell can/did go super saiyan for a few different reasons. 1) he has saiyan blood 2) in the show anybody who powers up or takes flight always has a bluish aura NOT a golden one that has been specific to the super saiyans. 3) even if cell is an android and has different DNA besides saiyan, that same thing applies to the saiyan/human hybrids. They turn super saiyan perfectly despite their human DNA. 4) when he regenerates and powers up you see his and Gohans aura EXACTLY the same, electricity flowing and all. Name another species that can have that same exact aura and maybe I'll believe he wasn't super saiyan.

And to the comment about why can't he transform like frieza: the answer is he can. The only difference is that frieza transformed to either conceal or bump up his power because he had too much power already. Why cell can't do that at will is because he needed to acquire the androids in order to make his transformations. The same way a saiyan needs rage to turn super saiyan.

I don't think Cell was a Saiyan. He was an Android and he mentioned that to Piccolo. Although He had the cells of Z warriors and Frieza with his father too but those was only for increasing his power and abilities which made Cell's Aura like a Super Saiyan when he used to power up. Actually, Cell was an Android who had been programmed to have the abilities and power of the greatest warriors of the entire Universe and that's why He is Called Perfect. Because, Perfect means Much Better than any organism in the Universe. So, I think He was a Biologically Programmed Android who had the abilities of Saiyans but that doen't mean that he was a Saiyan. Cell can go super saiyan

After he exploded, when he regenerated, he was more powerful due to his saiyan cells. This means he can go super saiyan.

He is an android. Having an aura like an SSJ2 doesn't make him an SSJ2. Also, look at him, does he resemble a Saiyan? Even sparsely? There is no escape! 12:04, March 21, 2012 (UTC)

Android or not he still was part saiyan, just be cause he was manufactured doesn't mean he can't go super saiyan. Look at Pan or gohan, goten, and trunks. All part saiyan and all fully capable of going saiyan even with the miniscule saiyan blood they contained. cell had the cells from the greatest saiyans goku and vegeta so he is very well capable of going super saiyan. And the aura is a great tip to wether he did or not. You can watch the series over and over again and not another being BUT saiyans get the golden aura when powering up to super saiyan. So yes, he can.

Android. Not a Super Saiyan. End of topic.

To those who say Cell can become a Super Saiyan...that is false. You guys are mistaken, or perhaps confused. Cell is supposed to be the ultimate ANDROID created by Dr. Gero who is comprised of many of the Z-Fighters CELLS which include the saiyans, (Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, possibly Raditz and Nappa) humans (Krillin, Yamcha & Tien) and somehow, Frieza. There is a big difference between having Saiyan BLOOD and Saiyan CELLS. Although Cell does give off a Super Saiyan like aura during flight and/or while powering up, this may be due in part to the Saiyan cells he contains, but does not signify that he is or can transform into a Super Saiyan. As a point of reference, if I remember correctly, during the Saiyan Saga, Nappa also had a yellow, Super Saiyan like aura while he powered up, however he was not a Super Saiyan. Also, there is no official source that states that Cell is or can transform into, a Super Saiyan, so it would be unwise to assume this.

I'm pretty sure he can. When he was Imperfect, Perfect and Super Perfect, he had the exact traits of a Super Saiyan's form: Golden, Flowing Aura, Loves to fight, and it is ragged, electrical aura when he's in his Super Perfect form Plus, he's 40% Saiyan, because he has 4 Saiyan cells(Vegeta,Goku, Gohan, Trunks), 3 Human Cells(Krillin,Tien, Yamcha), and 2 Alien cells (Frieza, King Cold).

Most definitely not!

For obvious reasons, Cell can't become a SSJ. First of all you need to be a Saiyan, not an Android. It doesn't matter if you have Saiyan cells, you need to be conceived/born a Saiyan to become a SSJ. Majin Buu also absorbed Saiyans and was actually changed in appearance and power from Goten, Trunks and Gohan...but he couldn't become a SSJ, because he's not a Saiyan to begin with. Secondly, what would his name be if he ascended into a SSJ? Super Android two Cell? Wouldn't make much sense. Unless someone is born with Saiyan BLOOD, they have zero% chance of becoming any type of SSJ. SuperGogeta91 (talk) 00:07, November 22, 2012 (UTC)

I always thought of Super Perfect Cell as Cell in a Super Saiyan state, or something close to that. It is possible for him to become a Super Saiyan, probab;y considering he is made up of Saiyan cells.

I see.

I see the point. A Full Power Perfect Cell would be considered a Super Saiyan, a big bulky Cell would be considered an Ultra Super Saiyan, and a Super Perfect Cell would be considered a Super Saiyan 2.....AH I see.

Rose... 18:29, November 22, 2012 (UTC)

Similar...but not a Super Saiyan.

Cell has very similar attributes and characteristics of a Super Saiyan/Super Saiyan 2 such as the golden yellow aura and sparks of electricity, but he is simply an advanced ANDROID with Saiyan cells. He is NOT a Super Saiyan and CAN NOT turn into a Super Saiyan. Cell may have the rage and the power level necessary to transform into a Super Saiyan, but he isn't a Saiyan and does not resemble one in the slightest. Everyone else here that has said otherwise is incorrect. I know that because it is FACT. There is, of course, no official source that states Cell is a Super Saiyan. Those of you that have said that he is a Super Saiyan have no validity to your claim, there is no evidence or source to solidify your claim. I'm not here to argue, I'm stating the facts. End of discussion.

The golden power aura thing is actually not limited to SSJ of any kind. Apart from Nappa, which has a limited aura (just a small glow around his body), Krillin also had this during the bio broly movie. This leads me to speculate (unless the author said otherwise), that the golden aura all around a person's body just signify that he has achieved a similar power level to an SSJ, regardless whether he actually is an SSJ. (Hey, Krillin survived more than a few hits from bio broly, which is definitely stronger than SSJ even if he is not fully powered, so it is conceivable for him to have attained low SSJ power level by middle age)

Androids cannot go Super Saiyan. Sasuke 23:17, November 30, 2012 (UTC)

He's not "an" android (a robot), like #8, #16, and #19. He's purely biological.

Yes Cell can go Super Saiyan

He is an android created by Dr. Gero however unlike the other androids he is a biological android, he was created this way so that he would inherit all of the techniques, abilities and traits of the Z Fighters cells that comprise his cellular being. Cell also has the DNA of various different saiyans, so I believe he can indeed become a super saiyan.

No he can't

You made an error, Cell did not have cells from Gohan, and in the english series, (not sure about the others) it never said anything about having cells from nappa, but he probably did and if thats so from raditz as well. but he never had gohans cells. I would also happen to imagine cell could not go super saiyan because he was more android then anything else, Proof is the fact that he absorbed 17 and 18, tho his 3rd form (considered first but im counting egg and larva form) would have more saiyan then the 4th and 5th form, his 3rd form is pretty much just goku, vegeta, and the other noteable charecters. and TBH he actual has more human then saiyan cause of cells from roshi yamcha tien and krillen. but thats not factor considering goku jr. could go super saiyan with his depleted blood line. at 1/16 of the saiyan blood.

Um, No

Well let's see...Cell can't be or turn into a Super Saiyan for the simple fact that he IS NOT a Saiyan, neither does he resemble one. We all know that Cell is a biological ANDROID comprised of the cells of the Saiyans (mainly Goku & Vegeta, correct me if I'm wrong). He has even said so himself at least once or twice. With the exception of the golden aura/electricity, he lacks the typical attributes of a SSJ such as the golden hair and green/turquoise eyes. Now...if he had Saiyan BLOOD, that's a different a story. Getting back to the point, if you are not a Saiyan or do not have Saiyan blood, there's no way you can be a Super Saiyan. It does not make sense. Cell is more like a "Super Android", to be more technical. To be honest, he's more similar to an insect than a Saiyan.

This forum is pointless. Anybody that watches DBZ should know the answer to this question.

He turned into a Super Saiyan after he powered up with his Prelude to Perfect Form. Then he turned Super Saiyan 2 after goku is kill

Sandubadear (talk) 02:37, April 28, 2013 (UTC)

Dear God, Don't let this one go where I think it probably already has..........

Yeah, Super-Saiyan Cell? Great. Just great. Now there's going to be some fan-pic dredged up from someone's deranged mind depicting a blond, spiky-haired Cell.... And if it hasn't occurred yet, great. But if it has, or does, may all the the Kai's in the universe smite you.

ATLpunk (talk) 07:58, April 28, 2013 (UTC)

atlpunk is kill

Also, he even turns Ultra Super Saiyan when fighting Gohan

Sandubadear (talk) 15:55, April 28, 2013 (UTC)

@Sandubadear:  he is a super sayin bitch

Biological Android w/ Saiyan, Human, Extraterrestrial cells = Not A Saiyan = Not A Super Saiyan

He turned into a Super Saiyan after he powered up with his Prelude to Perfect Form. Then he turned Super Saiyan 2 after goku is kill

Right.  Now all of a sudden, I'm the bitch.  Thank you.  I don't take your insult personally because you're either a young child...or you're not mature enough to validate your opinion.  That's okay.  I understand how you feel.  You're in denial and you fail to acknowledge the truth, so you used a insult as a cop out.  Unfortunately, I don't have time to argue with a complete stranger over the internet.  I usually state the facts and keep moving.  You're free to argue with yourself, though.

Btw, I don't know what a "sayin" is.  You must have meant to say, "Saiyan".  Have a nice day. :)

So. If someone injected the cells of a fly into a human being. Would that make the human have the ability to turn into one at will? Hell no. --M A G I C Keffy Palazzo 14:24, August 31, 2013 (UTC)
