I want it to be true because the dragonball series is as inspiritational as superman, except it lasted way longer as the newer supermans aren't even close to superman. Goku always had a meaning, he was an idea and thats what made him invincible while superman lost all of that in his changes though smallville got it right in the end. I would love to see a and help create an addition to the DB series that has a battle with the real superman. I would love this manga to continue GT. Read my other comments. I'm the person who put the best debate for Goku in the Goku vs Superman forum thingy.

I'm just curious, is it picking up from DBZ or DBGT? Because I don't think there's much left on the side of GT so there wouldn't be a point in that case( the only fighters left are Goku, Goku jr., and Vegeta jr.). And if it is coming from DBZ, wouldn't that make GT( a series that still makes thousans of $ today) completely worthless.

Is the new manga even about the z fighters or is he starting from scratch?

Otherwise it sounds completely awesome.

I LOVE the way the second guy who responded put it! I love every incarnation of the series (except the live action. they screwed up) because forms and ages can change, but Goku never does! he's a universal constant! he's simple and amazing because he never has a bad thought! I will never understand people who don't like Goku or Dragonball in general, because how can you not look up to that guy? It's such a simple idea, somebody who never does the wrong thing, because he never thinks to! it sounds impossible, but why? in any case, I love the character, and i wouldn't care if they ended and restarted the series a thousand times, as long as Goku stayed the same. He's the reason i watch dragonball, and the reason i still visit this site years after DBGT ended. So for all the people out there who dislike Goku because he's "naive" i think you're the naive ones. sure, he's not very smart, but he knows what matters in life better than anyone else, fictional or not, I've ever seen. also, fighting pwns.

he considers it both. a side story is still a continuation. like when people make spinoffs of popular characters, they still continue the storyline.

Anyway I'd love a new DB manga. But this is more than likely fake. Or if it isn't, Akira forgot that he was going to write a continuation to it lol.

GT isn't canon. GT break the canon (in the manga it was said, that evil guys don't keep their bodys in the otherworld), like many fillers wich aren't canon to. First of all, they only kept their bodies because Super 17 somehow hacked hell. Even if it's a mistake, one mistake does not make GT non-canon. Playing by your rules, Dragon Ball is not canon because the DBs can only be found a year after they are used, and Goku found one after eight months. this is still going on? it was DRAGON BALL SD that was the manga he was supposed to make. it was confrimed last year nothings been said since then... although akira and ooishi were working on some projects like the bardock episode manga, and other dragon ball mangas, not to mention the card game, earthquakes and tsunamis hit japan and akira put these projects off to help with the incidents. one of the projects could be a new manga/series no one knows...

Obviously Fake, this was announced three years ago.

Dude, those announcements are from 2010, and was confirmed to be a mistake shortly afterwards. I suspect it was a bad interpretation of Dragonball SD, which did start that year.

Hate to bust your bubble, but these sources are fake announcements from 2010, 3 years ago. There has been no such announcement, no matter how much people want it. If it happens, it will happen. If it doesn't, it doesn't. There is no need to send crap and false messages out there for people who will believe anything they read. It is as bad as the fake "announcement" that went around Facebook for about a month or two, which turned out to be an April Fools joke.

THERE COULD BE MORE DBs

We don't really know if there if there is going to be to be a new DB series, and it won't make sence because the dragon balls are gone but in the freiza saga king Kai did mention that the namekians  sent out some of the namekian children to other planets when a disease went through the entire planet so perhaps they made their own dragon balls and the dragon balls were over used and now the universe is in big danger from even more powerful enemies

At Kamecon in Birmingham, it was announced that Akira Toriyama has been in the making of an official new Dragon Ball Manga. Which means that a series is to come. The timeline in which it is based on is to be revealed. The chances of not having Goku in it is slim but still there. It could also be based off after GT/Hero's Legacy movie. Which would then contain at least 5 main characters. Which would also be possible, due to the fact that they only started the series with 4 in Dragon Ball and eventually got more. So they may be attempting to repeat that.

Considering the fact that GT ended in 1997, I doubt Akira would even think of bringing back a series that has been over for over a decade. But don't be too down guys, he may make another series outside the DB universe. 

Well, 1st of all, Toryiama stated that after he made the battle of the god's movie, that he was making lots of money and wanted to return to the dragon ball z saga, but this time i think he's making episodes, because he hates inking. He stated there will be 500 new charcters. For all those people thinking this is a hoax, Toryiama himself stated it. He's also going to continue the battle of the gods, and have vegeta as super saiyan god! So, your dreams might not be killed!

Well they might be true I mean like that maybe the Dragon Balls are back. I think they should. (not saying I belive it or not.) Because Dragon Ball GT ended with Goku giving Goku Jr his Dragon Ball before jr became a Super Saiyan.

• ahem* new DBZ series coming out yes yes it is. The release of dragon ball z battle of gods in japan was very succesful, long awesome story short, there will be 200 more episodes coming, around 200, not following DBZGT because well Toriyama had nothing to do with that as we all know, it will continue 5 or so months after the buu saga, will probably continue from the battle of gods. At the end of battle of gods there is little talk between Bills and Goku that they will encounter one another again at some point, Vegeta tells goku that "next time i want to become the God". Giving us a hint that there will probably be a new movie or that the new series will follow the movie.

OK guys, I believe there might be a return of Goku and Vegeta in a new series... But let me make some things clear...

DBZ FACTS AND FICTIONS!!!!

1. THERE IS NO DBZ AF

2. DBZ HOSHI IS A COMMERCIAL FOR A ARCADE GAME

3. GT is NOT canon... Toei made it, Toriyama approved it

4. Goku ADMITTED Vegeta is stronger than him at the end of the movie

5. Gogeta is NOT stronger than Vegito... Base Vegito is equal/stronger than SSJ4 Gogeta by far

6. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS SSJ5 AND THAT CRAP...

7. XICOR IS NOT REAL... FANMADE

8. Vegeta has unllocked SSJ3 but only in DBZ Hoshi, the arcade game series

My thoughts on a new series and Dragonball Z continuation...

Honestly, I would love to see where a new series will go. Personally, Dragonball Z holds a special place for me, as you really saw the progression of Goku as a Saiyan and the Z-Fighters as warriors. In my opinion, SSJ4 should have been achieved within DBZ itself.

When Dragonball GT was first announced, I actually hoped it would be a darker Dragonball, seeing a more serious approach and more in depth character development. Hell, if it had been like that, I would have loved GT being as long as DBZ. 

As for a new DBZ, i'd love it. Longer, more explosive and more action packed. I can never say no to stuff like that. Personally, I would love to see the form of Super Saiyan go as far as maybe the AF Fanon has taken it. Some of the transformations are actually pretty good, like the SSJ5, 6 and 7 forms. It would be interesting to see them added to Canon :D

More power is more fun :D Dragonball Z knows how to deliver on that.

Also, on a side note, there were way too many times that Chi Chi, Videl and Pan got on my nerves so damn much. Never have i felt so much hate for irritating characters...

If he were to do it:

He should make new episodes under the "Dragon Ball Z Kai" title that directly continue after the final episode of the Majin Buu saga, with the same animation style as Battle of Gods.  They should overwrite GT with better new characters and transformations.  As we know from Battle of Gods, Super Saiyan God is a whole different dimension of Super Saiyan that doesn't use ki, but what about the ones that do?  Is there a ki-based Super Saiyan form greater than 3?
