So I was toying with the idea of Vegeta SSJ4 without Bulma's help. I mean, if Vegeta had his tail growns back, could he possibly turn into SSJ4?

I doubt it, because he never reached SSJ3 and thus doesn't have enough base energy to turn into SSJ4. As we can see in GT, he needs powering up with technology to gain such energy. Goku can transform even if there's no moon at the sky, so it's not that simple - just to turn oozaru, turn SSJ and then "pack the monkey" into SSJ4 form. And probably it's not that simple to go SSJ in oozaru form since it boosts the energy x50 (you actually have to have an ability to go beyond oozaru strength to even think about SSJ monkey).

What do you think?

Vageta can actually turn ssj4 by his self because in dragon ball Z he took control of his great ape form. that's how you can become a ssj4.

I'm not talking about the possiblility, that he possibly could reach it in the future, but if he could do it just after GT, without any further training. I'm just not sure if SSJ4 is all about this monkey "rar" thing. if so, even chibi Trunks could do it, if he had a tail.

From my understanding, blutz waves don't provide power, they just trigger the oozaru transformation and in Vegeta's case, make his tail grow back. So if Vegeta already had his tail, he could have attained SSJ4 the normal way. Furthermore, SSJ3 isn't a prereq for SSJ4, and I think Vegeta's base form was comparable to Goku's, so his body would be able to handle it. They were evenly matched at SSJ2 in the Buu saga even though Vegeta hadn't unlocked SSJ3. Janemba4eva 19:09, September 4, 2011 (UTC)

yes he does. since hes ssj4 and all, that means he has the power to be ss4.

no he doesnt. no one powered him up. he achieved ssj4 with all his own power, but just like goku, he needs the energy reflected off of the moon to transform for the first time, then he can do it whenever he wants.

that replenished the moon energy that triggers oozaru. it wouldnt replenish the raw ki baby actually uses. he wasnt doing well after it anyway.

Well look at the conditions...

When they replayed the tape of Goku's transformation both Vegeta and Bulma were making detailed commentary of everything that was going on (something that rarely happens in DBZ). They noticed that Goku had a tail, had no outside forces like Baby affecting his control, and was in good physical condition. Bulma explained that she could regrow the tail with Blutz Waves, Goku had already defeated baby, and then Bulma stated that Vegeta had been training like never before. The only thing challengeable here is that Vegeta was not strong enough to maintain the form but that was disproven when he successfully entered SS4 the first time. We also know that base GT Vegeta is most likely as strong as SS2 Z Vegeta since Baby noted that he was the strongest of the Saiyans on Earth and he could keep up with base GT Kid Goku who was as strong as SS3 Z Goku. That means that even though he never reached SS3 Vegeta had found a way to at least equal that level of power without having to transform.

With that being said I would have to say, yes, Vegeta could and probably did learn how to reach SS4 without help after Goku designated him guardian of the Earth, and he might've even found a way to surpass that power level before he died just like Goku most likely did when he went to train with Shenron.

I think that Vegeta can transform into ssj4 on his own.He surely has the amount of power in his base form to achieve the transformation.He tranformed once with the help of bulma's machine but the only thing that the machine gave him was his tail and the blutz waves that are required to transform.I know that some of you people will say that the blutz wave generator gave him power but we can also say that about goku who was exposed naturally to blutz waves.Why didn't he abssorb power from the waves and Vegeta did?Also there is a small talk between goku and vegeta about if he can transform now without bulma's help where vegeta is pissed off.In that time vegeta has lost much of his power fighting and it's logical he can't transform.Goku didn't transform either.Finaly some of you say that he didn't transform again when he tried to fight omega to stop him until the others are gone.The explanation could be the same as the above but he may also knew that he didn't have any chance and he used ssj2 so he wouldn't lost power quickly from the transformation and fight for as long as he could.
