Was there ever any motivation for him to destroy the earth? Or was it a plot decision to add more drama?
He went crazy[]
His goal at first was to modify the human race. Then 50 years later because his brain is now in the robot suit, he wants to find the strongest man on the planet so he can do a transplant. At first he thought it was roshi but he was too easily beaten so he started doubting it was him. He then finds goku.
