I just wanted to clarify something about the durability of the Z characters. Goku was able to spar with Future Trunks using his finger while Trunks was using his sword. Also bullets are completely ineffective against any z character. Furthermore, if Cell can tank Vegeta's kick and Krillin's Destructo Disc, then there is no attack weaker than those that will harm people like Cell. The point I am getting at is, next time you make a thread about some Z character vs characters from another universe, take into account that techniques that don't have some special effect to them will be COMPLETELY USELESS. This means that you shouldn't pick any character that doesn't have some special (broken) ability. Those abilities are like Tsuchikage's jutsu, Susano'o, Respira, Kyokasuigetsu, paw paw fruit, tremot tremot fruit etc. "I may be just a pothole in the road to you big guy, but it's going to be one hell of a deep pothole." - Tien 11:45, December 2, 2011 (UTC)
My personal interpration on Goku stopping Trunks sword with just a finger is he was concentrating his ki into that his finger making it able to withstand the sword. I could be wrong as it's just a theory. Saiyans do after all have thicker skin than humans and all, but I don't think their skin is completely invunrable. It might be filler and if it is I'm sorry but in Dragon Ball Kai when Goku is going fishing with Krillian and Gohan Krillian test if Goku is aware 24/7 because of his endurance training with FFJ and throws a rock at his head, hitting him and doing s small amount of damage. Since Goku at this stage is much more powerful than he was after returning to Earth and Krillian is significantly less powerful than Trunks using a lesser weapon no less I think part of their durability comes from being aware of the attack. Just my thought and I'm not stating I'm 100% right.

I agree saiyans may not be killed by something like a gun or rock as their skin is to thick but it can hurt if they are not aware of it and I think trunks sword would may or may not have sliced goku if he was not aware because if you remember back in dragonball goku was able to survive getting a sharp object on him such as an axe to the head.

This is something I have wondered about as well. Because it seems that a character that controls ki, being aware of an attack that they are strong enough to defend against, somehow uses their ki in a reinforcing /defensive way to protect themselves. (Presumably at the cost of some ki expended?)
So does that mean that any attack below a certain level is totally useless, or does it nibble away slightly at the attacked person's ki as they defend against it?

Goku may have concentrated his ki in his finger to spar with Trunks, but against a much weaker enemy he could just spread his ki evenly and still not take damage. This thick skin thing is interesting, because there's another thing I've wondered. Obviously, the characters' muscles grow in strength when they get stronger, but I've always wondered if their actual bones got stronger. It would make a lot of sense, considering the intense pressure they put on themselves, but still. Also, speaking of pressure, why does SSJ hair stick up in a gravity chamber? Anyways....
