Frieza Closes In! Mighty Porunga, Grant Our Wish! (Gekikō Furīza ga Semaru! Porunga yo... Negai o Kanae Tamae!) is the thirty-sixth overall episode in the Dragon Ball Z Kai series. The episode first aired on December 13, 2009. Its original American air date was September 6, 2010.
Krillin and Gohan discovered that, although the Namekian Dragon Balls can grant three wishes, they can resurrect only one person per wish, unlike the Earth's Dragon Balls. After consulting with their dead friends via King Kai's telepathic abilities, they use the first wish to revive Piccolo, which also brings Kami and the Earth's Dragon Balls back. Then, they use the second wish to teleport Piccolo to Namek so that he can assist them (despite King Kai's orders not to). However, this only brought him to a random spot on the planet, far away from the others. Vegeta eventually awakens and learns he's been duped. He learns that there's one wish left and forces Dende to make the wish to grant Vegeta immortality. Krillin reluctantly decides to go with it, but before the wish can be made, the Grand Elder passes away and the Namekian Dragon Balls become useless. Just as Vegeta thinks his luck could not get any worse, Frieza finally arrives, and is not happy at all that his own plans for immortality have been thwarted. Furiously, he vows to make them all suffer.
- Although Vegeta has an older model of Battle Armor, one scene depicts him in his previous, dual shoulder guard, armor.
- Like in previous episodes, Krillin acts as if he knows what happens when the dragon is summoned from the Dragon Balls such as the sky turning dark, however, Krillin has never been present when Shenron was summoned on Earth (at the time of the Piccolo Jr. Saga, he was the one being revived from the dead, and in the Vegeta Saga, he was training for the arrival of the Saiyans at the time when Goku was being revived). Though it is possible that his friends told him of this. In this episode, Krillin says that Porunga is much different looking than Shenron, though as mentioned previously, Krillin has never seen Shenron in person.
