Giant Form (巨大化 Kyodai-ka, lit. "Gigantification") is a transformation used by numerous characters.

Overview[]

The transformation causes the user to activate a form of enormous proportions, reaching a much larger size and increasing their power by an unspecified multiple. This can be achieved by various means, including the traditional method of the user enlarging themselves, or by using ki to generate a larger, separate avatar to fight with. This technique differs from characters who are naturally gigantic, such as Agnilasa and Janemba.

Usage and Power[]

Annin takes on a Giant Form when she battles against Goku.

Hatchiyack takes on a giant form in one of the ending scenarios of Dragon Ball Z Side Story: True Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans - Space Saga, however, he is defeated when Goku flies inside him and destroys his core with a Kamehameha.

Although not a true giant form, the Legendary Super Saiyan form is similar in nature to those forms due to the user having a significantly increased height in addition to bulking up.

Super Buu takes on a "giant" form while battling Goku inside his own body, though he is not actually a real giant, he is just larger than anyone inside him. In the anime, Kid Buu is able to enlarge his arm to giant sizes.

As Fused Zamasu became more and more unstable, he bulks himself up and grows to become huge, pushing his power even further and adapting to his rage and hate.

Bergamo can achieve his Giant form through damage absorption; for each hit he receives he grows in size and power.

Thanks to his Body Manipulation, Maji-Kayo is able to enlarge his arm to giant size in order to deliver a more powerful blow.

Through Formation, Brianne de Chateau can create a giant battle avatar of Ribrianne. She used her giant battle avatar in an attempt to defeat Android 18, however 18 rammed her out of the giant avatar's head and off the arena.

Yardrat can achieve Gigantification through Spirit Control, as displayed by their elder Pybara - who appears to prefer to stay in a gigantified state.

In his Perfected Ultra Instinct state, Goku can create a giant battle avatar of himself. During the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga, he used this giant avatar to grapple with Moro - who had absorbed himself into the Earth - allowing his actual body to hit Moro's head crystal, defeating him. Later, during the Granolah the Survivor Saga, Goku awakened this power once more to grab Gas and fling him far from Granolah.

Giant Vegeta VRVS

Giant Vegeta in V.R.V.S.

In V.R.V.S., in Vegeta's ending he wishes to Shenron to have "the world beneath his feet", Shenron misinterprets the wish, resulting in him being transformed into a giant standing on the Earth. It is by far the largest Giant Form in the series (its size is comically huge as he is larger than the planet Earth) which is ironic given Vegeta's short height when he was first introduced.

In Attack of the Saiyans, Annin appears in this form.

in Dragon Ball Online, the antagonist Towa displays the ability to transform characters into giants; she first attempts this ability on Cui but had not perfected it and causes him to shrink slightly instead. She perfects her ability shortly after and uses it on Dodoria, Zarbon, Recoome, Ginyu Frog, and several other Frieza Force soldiers.

In Dragon Ball Heroes, Super Buu's giant form is called his Super form in-game. Demigra is also capable of taking on an enlarged version of his final form named Giant Demon God.

In Dokkan Battle, the Giant Form is also a category for characters who possess the Giant Form mechanic, including users of Giant and Golden Giant Apes, Great Namekians. Upon transforming into their respective Giant Forms, users become impervious to damage and take up all three attacking phases for up to three potential turns before reverting to normal. Most Giant Form cards possess a random chance of transforming, while other cards can transform with certain criteria, such as a set HP percentage. While most naturally giant-sized characters (ex. Janemba) do not act as Giant Forms and are normal units, some exceptions include Hirudegarn, who acts as Tapion's Giant Form.
