A Grenade is a hand-held explosive weapon triggered by the pull of a pin.

In Dragon Ball Mercenary Tao attempts to kill Goku by throwing a grenade at the young Saiyan. After it is thrown, Tao jumps into the air to avoid the explosion, but Goku kicks it up into the air, and it explodes almost directly in front of Tao.

Grenades are also presumably used by Earth's military as well as the Red Ribbon Army.
