Hyper Tornado[3] (ハイパートルネード Haipā Torunēdo) is a technique used by Pikkon.

Overview[]

184-23

Pikkon's Hyper Tornado

First, Pikkon powers up and rotates his body at high speed until he appears as a tornado. Then, the base of the tornado drills down to the opponent and traps them in the tornado. This allows Pikkon to be able to attack the trapped opponent while the latter is incapable of fighting back. The air speed is so fast that it creates blades of wind capable of cutting into flesh.

Usage[]

Pikkon first uses this attack to throw the defeated Cell and Ginyu Force (except Captain Ginyu) out of the bloody pond and into a mountain of spikes in Hell. Pikkon later uses the Hyper Tornado during his battle against Goku in his Super Saiyan Full Power form in the Other World Tournament. Goku soon escapes Pikkon's Hyper Tornado and powers up with the Super Kaio-ken before flying up to punch Pikkon into a meteor orbiting the tournament stage.

Variations[]

  • Hyper Spin (ハイパースピ) - A weaker version that appears as a Special Move in Dragon Ball Fusions.
    • Hyper Hurricane (ハイパーハリケーン) - A stronger variation that appears as a Special Move in Dragon Ball Fusion.

The technique is used in the Budokai Tenkaichi series, where instead Pikkon drills towards his opponent like a missile. The technique is also unblockable and is a Blast 2 Technique in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2, and Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3. This attack is done similar to many users in Budokai Tenkaichi 3. In Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai, Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai - Another Road, Dragon Ball Z: Infinite World, and Dragon Ball Heroes, Pikkon just stands still like in the anime instead of moving. Here, it is revealed the Hyper Tornado can repel approaching energy waves as well.

In Dragon Ball Heroes, Pikkon and Gotenks can use a combination version of the Hyper Tornado which involves the two using the attack and then Pikkon launching Gotenks at the enemy.

Pikkon, as well as Burter can use this attack in Dragon Ball Fusions. Butter's ability to utilize it in Dragon Ball Fusions is likely a reference to his Blue Hurricane epitaph and similar technique of the same name.

As part of the Legendary Pack 1 DLC for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, Hyper Tornado appears as one of Pikkon's Super Skills. Additionally during the Extra Mission 02: "Too Many Janembas!", Hyper Tornado appears as one of NPC supporter Future Pikkon's Super Skills. The Future Warrior can randomly obtain the Super Skill in New Parallel Quest 143: "Other World Offensive".
