In the Name of Piccolo Daimaō (ピッコロ大魔王の名に賭けて, Pikkoro Daimaō no Nani Kakete) is a side-story written by Takao Koyama and illustrated by Minoru Maeda. It is the first of a series of three side-stories based on the Dragon Ball Z anime, and it was first published on October 18, 1989, in the Jump Gold Selection 4: Dragon Ball Z Anime Special. The side-story focuses on the evolution of Piccolo from a heartless warrior to a caring mentor to Gohan.
