Main article: List of Power Levels

Manga and Anime

Vegeta is one of the most powerful mortal warriors in the Universe 7, being sometimes recognized as the second most powerful among them, in turn making him one of the strongest fighters of the multiverse as a whole.

From a young age, Vegeta showed tremendous power even by the standards of First-Class warriors and the royal bloodline of the Saiyan race. King Vegeta proudly stated that Vegeta greatly broke all previous records in history of Saiyan attributes and capacities. Vegeta has even noted that his entire combat experience and fighting style is purely self-taught, having grown-up with no teachers, further showcasing his prodigious talents and is noted to have even surpassed his father, the previously strongest Saiyan of his time, while still a child.

Upon his first arrived on Earth as an adult, his power level reached about 18,000. Once fighting against Goku, it took Goku tripling his power with the Kaio-ken to overpower the prince. This convinced Vegeta to transform into a Great Ape. Even when badly battle-worn from Goku's various attacks and having reverted to his base form, Vegeta showed remarkable resilience, able to continue fighting against the Earth's defenders and even held his own against the Great Ape Gohan with noticeable efficiency. At this time, Vegeta's Galick Gun had enough power to at the very least ravage the entire surface of the Earth.[1]

After healing from his defeat, Vegeta's power rose to 24,000 thanks to the Saiyan Power (offset by losing his tail, which is known to reduce a Saiyan's strength). After being defeated by Zarbon and healing again, Vegeta's power increased enough that he could defeat the transformed Zarbon through trickery and cause some minor damage to Recoome, putting his power level just under 30,000. After healing from his battle against Recoome, Vegeta showed an especially potent increase in power, easily outmatching Jeice and Captain Ginyu and being able to fight on par with the full power of Frieza's first form, putting Vegeta's power at around 530,000. Once healed by Krillin's blast in an attempt to become a Super Saiyan, Vegeta's power level shot up once more, becoming able to perceive Frieza's movements in his true form, but ultimately proved no match for the tyrant. After being revived from death, Vegeta found that his power had increased greatly.

In the three years preparing for the Androids, Vegeta trained under 450 times Earth's gravity and by the time the Androids arrived, Vegeta, having finally obtained Super Saiyan, was able to effortlessly outclass Android 19 and 20. Piccolo noted that Vegeta may have surpassed Goku. According to Kami, Vegeta's power surpassed Future Trunks', as he lasted far longer against Android 18 than Trunks himself. After Vegeta trained in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, he was effortlessly able to subdue Cell in his Semi-Perfect Form with his Super Saiyan Second Grade form. After being soundly defeated by Perfect Cell, Vegeta chose to train again in the Time Chamber. Afterward, he expressed confidence in his ability to defeat Cell, implying he had at least surpassed the power that Cell had demonstrated up to that point, though he ultimately discovered, watching the fight between Cell and Goku, that both were still beyond him. He, along with Future Trunks and Piccolo, were the only ones able to hold their own against their respective Cell Juniors.

Vegeta continues training for the next seven years, eventually reaching 500 times gravity. By then, Vegeta became stronger than Gohan, as the hybrid Saiyan had slacked off on his training since he defeated Cell. After seeing a glimpse of Goku's increased power, Vegeta lets himself get possessed by Babidi because he wanted to receive Babidi's magic and catch up to Goku. In this state, combined with Super Saiyan 2, Vegeta is able to fight on par with Goku's Super Saiyan 2 might. Later, against Majin Buu Piccolo noted that Vegeta's power eclipsed Gohan's against Super Perfect Cell. However, he proved to be no match against Kid Buu, only being able to hold him off for about a minute. However, his sheer tenacity and willpower allowed him to take several brutal beatings (including a point-blank energy blast to the face as well as being strangled and electrocuted for several minutes) and continue fighting, something which shocked and even briefly scared the psychotic Majin.

In the anime, as a Super Saiyan, Vegeta managed to defeat the clones of Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks and Piccolo inside of Buu.

In Dragon Ball Super, Vegeta's training in the gravity chamber reached a point that he was no longer affected by the chamber's max gravity setting. When Super Saiyan 2 Vegeta faced off against Beerus, he was easily knocked down by the God of Destruction. However, after witnessing Bulma getting slapped by Beerus, he underwent a rage boost and was able to get several hits on him, something that Super Saiyan 3 Goku, Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks, and even Ultimate Gohan couldn't do. Beerus then claimed that he hadn't needed to use 10% of his power in such a long time.

Later on, Vegeta trains on Beerus' Planet with Whis for six months, to which Goku admits upon their reunion that Vegeta may have surpassed him. After training with Goku, his strength further increases, and both Goku and Vegeta unlock the Super Saiyan Blue form. As a Super Saiyan Blue, Vegeta easily defeated a tired Golden Frieza.

During the Tournament of Destroyers, Vegeta, as a Super Saiyan, defeated a weakened Final Form Frost with one punch, defeated Magetta, though Vegeta unknowingly exploited his weakness, and as a Super Saiyan Blue defeated Cabba with one punch while he was in his Super Saiyan form. Against Hit, even as a Super Saiyan Blue, Vegeta was dominated, though this was largely because Vegeta had no knowledge of Hit's Time-Skip. Days later, when Vegeta traveled to Planet Potaufeu, an exact copy of Vegeta was created that proved unfazed by Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks and likewise defeated the fused warrior with only a few blows in just his base form. Afterwards, Duplicate Vegeta proved able to essentially fight on par with Goku in their respective matching base and Super Saiyan Blue forms.

In the anime, upon facing the mysterious Goku Black, Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta proved powerful enough to overwhelm him in base form (albeit he showed no visible damage from the assault) and quickly recovered from the foe's powerful kick. Once Black transformed into Super Saiyan Rosé, Vegeta still proved able to fight on par with the enemy, until he was caught off-guard and stabbed by Black's God Split Cut. After healing from his battle against Black and training again in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber for six months (half a day in normal time), his power was able to destroy the Time Chamber. Upon his rematch against Black, this boost in power proves able to utterly overwhelm his foe.

In the manga, Super Saiyan 2 Vegeta held an advantage over Super Saiyan Black and as a Super Saiyan Blue easily overwhelms him. Though after Black's power increased tremendously and achieved Super Saiyan Rosé, Black gained a commanding lead over Vegeta. Future Trunks states that Vegeta has trained and pushed his body to its absolute limit at this point and cannot get any stronger. After training in the Time Chamber, Vegeta learns how to switch between Super Saiyan God and Super Saiyan Blue. Able to conserve and replenish energy more efficiently through his God form while using Blue form in the moments he blocks and attacks, he could extend how long he could maintain the max power of Super Saiyan Blue, using this tactic to overwhelm Super Saiyan Rosé Goku Black. After Fused Zamasu's time-limit ran out and forced the rogue Kais back into two but mutated back into their merged form separately, Vegeta unleashed a Gamma Burst Flash which proved able to blow the two foes into pieces, albeit they both quickly regenerated.

In the manga following Zamasu's defeat, Vegeta challenges Beerus to a fight. Beerus initially toys with Vegeta until he reveals he is also able to perform the Perfected Super Saiyan Blue form. Beerus is still not impressed until he is pushed back for a moment and gets serious by defeating Vegeta in one blow, though he notes that Vegeta is now strong enough to become a candidate for God of Destruction in a different universe.

Vegeta proved a great asset for his team during the Tournament of Power, eliminating many different fighters throughout. Top, a God of Destruction candidate, declared Vegeta to be Universe 7's second-best warrior.

In the anime, as a Super Saiyan Blue, he was able to clash with Top. Against Jiren, after seeing through his attack, Vegeta was able to land a punch on Jiren, shocking everyone, even Jiren himself. Vegeta proceeds to fire a Final Flash powerful enough that Jiren needed to block. Although Jiren receives no damage, he admits that the force of the attack wasn't half bad. Vegeta was able to break his self-limiting shell and achieve a transformation beyond Super Saiyan Blue. In this state, alongside Super Saiyan Blue Kaio-ken Goku, the two were able to fight on par with Jiren and throw him off balance. Against Destroyer Form Top, Vegeta, at first, was overwhelmed, however, Vegeta's disgust at Top casting aside all of his beliefs in order to win caused him to power up further allowing him to reverse the situation, even being able to destroy his Energy of Destruction with an Energy Punch. Vegeta eventually unleashed his Final Explosion, which knocked his foe out of the arena. Vegeta had also gotten strong enough that he was able to withstand the blast without dying. Despite Vegeta no longer having enough stamina to transform, he still managed to endure Jiren's assault for an extended period of time, earning Jiren's respect at Vegeta's tenacity upon finally eliminating the prince.

In the manga, using Perfected Super Saiyan Blue, he was able to catch the swift Dyspo off guard to easily knock him aside and then pressured Top with his relentless assault to push him back. Impressed with Vegeta's display, Top acknowledged Vegeta's raw might as on par with Goku. Later on, Vegeta achieved a heightened state of Perfected Super Saiyan Blue. Using this enhanced state Vegeta began pressuring Jiren - who noted that Vegeta had given him more trouble than anyone else during the Tournament of Power aside from Ultra Instinct Sign Goku, acknowledging the Saiyan prince. Teaming with Goku after he lost Ultra Instinct, their combination proved greater than the sum of their parts and allowed them to gain an edge over the greatly weakened Jiren. Goku and Vegeta's combined Kamehameha/Gamma Burst Flash was so powerful it warped the entire Null Realm - changing its color - and made everyone in the stands brace themselves. Ultimately the attacks failed to ring out Jiren, merely injuring the Pride Trooper and blasting off his shirt.

During the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga, Vegeta noted that he was fast enough in his base form to fly from Capsule Corporation to Satan City in five seconds. Against the infamously powerful wizard Moro, he is initially overwhelmed by his dark magic, even up to Super Saiyan 2 but Vegeta quickly overcame the unseen powers of Moro with Super Saiyan God. As Moro began using his power to manipulate the very nature of New Namek, Vegeta was pressured into using Super Saiyan God SS Evolved, where he easily broke through Moro's defenses to beat him down. However, convinced Moro was defeated, Vegeta powered down, which let Moro absorb the bulk of his energy and easily defeat Vegeta.

Later, after completing the basic training of Spirit Control under Pybara, Vegeta's power went through a massive boost, as Vegeta was initially shocked by the size and power of his own attacks. In battle against Moro's empowered men, Vegeta exhibited tremendous raw power, able to calmly swat away a giant building thrown at him with a single hand and likewise effortlessly defeated the foes in base form. Ultimately, with his newfound access of training, it also boosted his ability to detect ki signatures, even from across the universe and, after a few failed attempts, managed to perform Instant Transmission to return to Earth. Upon facing Moro, the wizard's power had vastly grown since their last encounter. Despite this and knowing that Moro had just defeated Ultra Instinct Sign Goku, Vegeta still confidently faced Moro with Goku and Piccolo noting Vegeta had surpassed Goku albeit Goku had not perfected Ultra Instinct yet. While his Super Saiyan God SS Evolved form proved no struggle for Moro at first, Vegeta was discreetly using Forced Spirit Fission, purging all the stolen life energy Moro had absorbed. Once Moro was fully drained and returned to his decrepit state, Vegeta was confident he could kill Moro, something that the Galactic Patrol failed countless times even after capturing Moro. However, Moro managed to retreat long enough to absorb Seven-Three, who had a copy stored of Moro's highest obtained power. Combining this extra power and Seven-Three's own abilities with Moro's natural remaining power boosted Moro high enough to easily repel Vegeta.

When fighting against Beerus, despite his increased strength and mastery over Spirit Control, Beerus was able to easily repel all of his attacks and defeated him easily once again through his usage of Ultra Ego. When Goku asked Whis if he knew of anyone stronger than both him and Vegeta, Whis stated that he knew of no one. Vegeta went on to train to achieve proper usage of Hakai and was successful.

Later, Vegeta faced Granolah, whose power was augmented by Toronbo to become the most powerful mortal in Universe 7. Despite the foe's power able to compete with Ultra Instinct Goku, Vegeta remained defiant. While his Super Saiyan God SS Evolved might was easily overpowered initially by Granolah, Vegeta's superior battle instincts and experience allowed him to endure the fight, gradually improving against the foe to hold his own partly due to his Saiyan Power. Eventually, Vegeta achieved Ultra Ego, which noticeably shocked Granolah and pushed him back. Ultimately however, Granolah's Pure Progress allowed his skill and power to grow even faster than Vegeta overwhelming the Saiyan until his Ultra Ego couldn't keep up. Once he was healed by Monaito, Vegeta retook his Ultra Ego state to fight Gas, the new most powerful mortal in Universe 7. Fighting alongside Perfected Ultra Instinct Goku, their teamwork and coordination allowed them to hold their own against Gas, despite Gas being stronger than them. Going on to face Gas one-on-one, Vegeta's Ultra Ego continued to grow stronger as he was beaten down, to the point that Vegeta managed to actually become a threat to Gas.

As noted by Vegeta during the Super Hero Saga, he, Goku, Jiren, Broly, Moro, Gas, and Frieza all possess power on par with each other, however Jiren, Broly, Moro, Gas, and Frieza are capable of wielding it to a higher degree than Goku and Vegeta due to operating in a Relaxed State. It is also believed that by this point Goku and Vegeta have long since reached the limit to their power outside of special training. After learning to enter a Relaxed State himself, Vegeta proved to be able to narrowly defeat Goku after a long-drawn-out sparring match between the two in just their regular forms and no energy attacks.

In Dragon Ball GT, the difference in power between Vegeta and Goku continues to grow, as Goku has gained the Super Saiyan 4 form while Vegeta is still in the Super Saiyan 2 form. During the Baby Saga, with Goku elsewhere, Vegeta is remarked by Goten to be the strongest Saiyan on Earth. While possessing Goten, Baby notes that gaining Vegeta's body would allow him to surpass even Trunks and Goku. As a Super Saiyan, he is able to easily overpower Super Saiyan Baby Gohan, though has trouble when he is backed up by base Infected Goten. Vegeta is remarked by Baby to be the mightiest body in the universe and the perfect one for him to be able to defeat Goku.

Vegeta believed that he could defeat Goku while they were both in their Super Saiyan forms during the 31st World Martial Arts Tournament. During the Super 17 Saga, the fully powered Super Saiyan Vegeta was able to hold his own against Super 17 for a short time, though the android was toying with him. During the Shadow Dragon Saga, Vegeta believes that the only difference between the two is the Super Saiyan 4 that he does not have access to. However, Vegeta manages to temporarily gain the Super Saiyan 4 form, allowing him to battle Omega Shenron alongside Goku. In a short bout with the powered-up Nuova Shenron, Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta is outmatched.

Films

In Dragon Ball Z: Bardock - The Father of Goku, Vegeta as a child is shown to be able to easily defeat several Saibamen all alone and he himself states that he had surpassed his father.

In Dragon Ball Z: The Return of Cooler, Vegeta as a Super Saiyan struggles against Meta-Cooler until he is able to destroy him by combining his power alongside Super Saiyan Goku. Later on, along with Goku, the two are able to unleash enough power to overload the Meta-Cooler Core, causing the Big Gete Star to self-destruct.

In Dragon Ball Z: Super Android 13!, Vegeta held his own against Android 15, until going Super Saiyan to destroy him. Against Super Android 13, Vegeta was outclassed, as his attack were completely ineffective against the artificial being.

In Dragon Ball Z: Broly - The Legendary Super Saiyan, Vegeta was no match for Broly at all and was swiftly defeated, although the energy Vegeta collectively contributes to Goku, ultimately gave him the power to finally subdue the maniacal Saiyan.

In Dragon Ball Z: Bojack Unbound, Vegeta in his Super Saiyan Second Grade form was able to hold his own against Bojack's base form (although the latter still held the advantage) but was easily defeated when Bojack unleashes his full-powered form.

In Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn, Vegeta fought against Super Janemba and though he was able to get in a couple good hits, he was ultimately far outmatched by the demon and was defeated quickly. He later expresses his frustration to Goku that his power had only stayed the same since he had died, though Goku was impressed that he had stayed as strong since he didn't have a body to train with.

In Dragon Ball Z: Wrath of the Dragon, Vegeta briefly battled against Hirudegarn and was unable to do any significant damage. He was able to form a barrier to stop one of Hirudegarns attacks but then collapses immediately afterwards.

In Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, Vegeta challenges Beerus as a Super Saiyan, only to last for less than a minute. He is enraged when Bulma is mistreated by Beerus and his anger causes his power to temporarily rise dramatically in his Super Saiyan 2 form, becoming even stronger than Super Saiyan 3 Goku, as stated by Master Roshi.

Sometime before Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’, Vegeta followed along when Goku asked Whis to train him, not wanting to fall behind Goku. Vegeta has become stronger and achieved the god power to get his Saiyan beyond God state. Vegeta as stated by Whis lacks the to speed to keep up with him. Vegeta also becomes Goku's equal in power. Whis claims that if Vegeta and Goku work together, they can potentially beat Beerus - it is implied that Whis was referring to fusion, as when talking about working with Goku, Vegeta states he only did it once with Goku and never wishes to do so again. Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta has less power than Golden Frieza at his peak, but when Frieza's power was greatly drained, Vegeta was able to overwhelm Golden Frieza with apparent ease.

In Dragon Ball Super: Broly, Vegeta is able to easily outpace Broly, but as Broly continued to grow, Vegeta is forced to reveal his battle uniform and go to Super Saiyan, at which he is able to initially overwhelm him, until Broly grows in power enough to pressure him. His Super Saiyan God form was able to easily overpower Broly in his base form until he gains his Wrathful form and steadily overwhelms Vegeta, though he is still able to hold his ground for a time and survives being punched through mountains, receiving no visible damage from the battle. Once Broly transforms into a Super Saiyan, Vegeta is forced to intervene and assist Goku, transforming into Super Saiyan Blue and attacking Broly together. However, even with their combined efforts, they are barely able to hold their own against Broly and are forced to retreat and teleport to Piccolo.

In Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, Vegeta realized that as strong as Jiren was physically, the true source of his Destroyer-level might came from his absurd control and timing in using his ki. Trying to emulate that tactic, Vegeta began focusing more on meditating than just training his body, which Whis applauding Vegeta for. Vegeta's efforts had a small, but distinct improvement in his efficiency in battle, as Whis and Beerus both admitted. When sparring Goku, the two Saiyans, without transforming or using energy attacks, were essentially on par with each other. After a long match with neither having a clear advantage and both completely exhausted, Vegeta narrowly won the final assault between them, knocking Goku down before collapsing himself, proving a slight edge over Goku.

Super Dragon Ball Heroes

Vegeta's progress under Whis continued to improve, as the tutor complimented Vegeta in his performance during a sparring match. As a Super Saiyan he was more than a match for either Oren or Kamin. As a Super Saiyan Blue he was initially outmatched by their merger, Kamioren, but turned the tables on it upon using his enhanced Super Saiyan Blue SS Evolved state.

During the Universal Conflict Saga, he was able to handle the Evil Aura-empowered Bojack relatively easily. In his initial Blue Berserk state, he and Goku were able to force Fu on the defensive, but far from enough to make him get serious.

Against the Evil Aura-empowered Turles and Super Saiyan 3 Full Power Cumber, Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta is initially overpowered, but after being forced to go Berserk a second time and overcoming the dark essence, Super Saiyan Blue Evil Aura Vegeta is able to easily overwhelm and defeat both Turles and Cumber.

Faced with a phantom of Super Full Power Saiyan 4 Limit Breaker Xeno Vegeta who is fighting with intent to kill, Vegeta is able to match him using his ordinary Super Saiyan Blue and wipe out the top half of his body in one shot with Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan (Berserk Controlled).

Statements by authors and guidebooks

When Vegeta attacks Earth with Nappa, his power level is 18,000 according to Daizenshuu 7, or 16,000 according to the movie pamphlet for Dragon Ball Z: The Tree of Might.

Takao Koyama, the writer for the first thirteen Dragon Ball Z films, noted that he made Vegeta appear weaker in the movies than he actually was - because Goku always had to be the one to win at the end of the movies.[2]

While inside Buu, Vegeta could not even use 1/100 of his usual power.[3]

According to the Dragon Ball Super rival danger scale, Vegeta ranks as a three out of twelve.[4]

During the Tournament of Power, prior to achieving Super Saiyan God SS Evolved, Vegeta was weaker than Goku[5], due to Goku having the ability to stack Kaio-ken over Super Saiyan Blue while Vegeta having no such powerup.

SS Blue (Evolved) Vegeta possesses power equal to Super Saiyan Blue Kaio-ken Goku.[6]

By the time of Dragon Ball Super: Broly, Vegeta is desperately trying to catch up with Goku, who is close to being a god.[7]

During the Granolah the Survivor Saga, Toyotarou refers to Granolah, Vegeta and Goku as the 1st, 2nd and 3rd strongest in the universe, though does not elaborate on the order aside from Granolah being 1st.[8]

Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta is equal to Super Saiyan 4 Goku.[9]

Video games

It is stated in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 2 that, at the beginning of the Majin Buu Saga, Vegeta was not as strong as Goku in any form, until he gained the Majin boost from Babidi, becoming Goku's equal.[10]

In the story of Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai, Majin Vegeta becomes much more powerful when he is taken over by Janemba. He is strong enough to hold his own against Ultimate Gohan and is capable of almost equaling Super Saiyan 3 Goku. After getting a large Zenkai due to Janemba's damage to his body, Vegeta as a Super Saiyan 2 has enough power to somewhat rival Super Saiyan 3 Goku, but it is stated that Goku is still stronger. Additionally, at one point in the game, Vegeta absorbs the Spirit Bomb and his power grows so much that while in his Super Saiyan 2 state he is able to defeat Super Janemba.

According to Dragon Ball Carddass, Young Vegeta's power level in Dragon Ball Z: Bardock - The Father of Goku is 2,900.

Several Dragon Ball Z video games give different power levels to Vegeta during the Vegeta Saga and Namek Saga: Dragon Ball Z: Goku Hishōden gives Vegeta a power level of 15,000 during the Vegeta Saga. Dragon Ball Z: Super Saiya Densetsu gives Super Saiyan Vegeta (who appears as a special secret boss after Frieza's defeat on Namek) a power level of 6,000,000. According to the Dragon Ball Z: The Anime Adventure Game Vegeta's power level against Frieza is 3,600,000. His power level in the Android Saga is 8,000,000 in his base form and 22,000,000 in his Super Saiyan form before going to the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.

In Dragon Ball Xenoverse, Beerus remarks Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta was a lot stronger than before, and maybe he could even win. In the story mode of the GT Pack two, Vegeta remarks that he and Goku are evenly matched as Super Saiyan 4's.

In Super Dragon Ball Heroes: World Mission, against Beat, Note, Great Saiyaman 3, Goku and the other Z-Fighters, Vegeta seems to think he can win despite being outnumbered 9 to 1. However, despite Vegeta transforming into a Super Saiyan 3, they are able to defeat him. However, in the extra anomaly within the extra dimensional space, Vegeta recovers and is more powerful than before but as Vegeta hadn't yet mastered Super Saiyan 3 he eventually succumbs to the strain and start losing power. Vegeta resorts to transforming himself and Raditz into Great Apes, however despite the assistance of five remaining Saibamen, Raditz is slain, and Great Ape Vegeta is defeated.

In Dragon Ball FighterZ, Vegeta is initially at the mercy of Frieza in the Super Warrior Arc and is about to be killed by him but is saved by Goku, Piccolo and Krillin. Vegeta believes that if he was capable of using his full power, he or Goku would be able to stop Android 21 on their own.

The Fortnite x Dragon Ball Super event states that "The world of Fortnite has never seen such power! Four powerful and iconic Dragon Ball Super characters, Son Goku, Vegeta, Bulma, and Beerus, have arrived in-game" [11]

Vegeta as a Great Ape

As with all Universe 7 Saiyans, Vegeta can transform into the colossal Great Ape form while retaining his tail and absorbing enough Blutz Waves. Vegeta first was seen using this form against the Dragon Team when he first came to Earth. Unlike most Saiyans, Vegeta retains his rationality and composure when transformed and changing back. Likewise, he also retains the ability to fully speak and manipulate his energy for feats such as flying. Once assuming this form, Vegeta's ki is fully replenished and his overall power is increase by ten times more than his normal form. Despite his immense increase in size and bulk, he is noted by Goku to have grown equally faster in this form. In direct proportion to his paramount size, his ears are become equally keen, able to detect the most minute sounds from great distances.

Vegeta as a Super Saiyan

Though it was only a Saiyan legend at the time, Vegeta was fascinated with this transformation and obsessed over obtaining it so that he could cement his status as a warrior of legend and one of the strongest in history. Seeing Goku achieve this form first and used it to defeat Frieza only fueled his desire to unlock the potential hidden within him. Vegeta attained this form during his time training at 300x gravity in the gravity chamber.[12] Once using this form, his muscle mass increases slightly, his skin-tone turns lighter, his hair turns blond, and his eyes turn green. He also is able to generate a golden aura and his peak performance increases either 10-fold or 50-fold from his base form. Vegeta first showed off the Super Saiyan state while he was fighting Android 19, where the increase of stamina and ki was so great, he could afford to let the android absorb some of his energy, all for the purpose of ripping his foes hands and thereby rendering it defenseless before destroying it.

In Dragon Ball Xenoverse, Vegeta's Super Saiyan form is referred to as Super Vegeta and while the standard Super Saiyan form increases melee damage, Vegeta's version increases ki blast damage instead. Recoome also calls this form Golden Vegeta upon viewing it.

Super Saiyan Second Grade

"Are you ready now? To witness a power not seen for thousands of years?"
— Vegeta to Cell prior to transforming in "Super Vegeta"

VegetaAscendedSuperSaiyanEp155

Vegeta as a Super Saiyan Second Grade

This form wields much greater power than his Super Saiyan level. At this level, Vegeta personally calls himself "Super Vegeta." He has the same basic golden features of his Super Saiyan level, only now his muscles are much larger. His hair also is bigger and slightly sharper, and he looks and acts more dominant. Due to Vegeta's muscle mass increase, he is much stronger than in his Super Saiyan form, and his speed and agility are unencumbered, unlike the Super Saiyan Third Grade, which significantly decreases speed (but greatly increases in strength). Vegeta went through this transformation when he was training to fight Cell in his Semi-Perfect form. He also used it against Cell in his Perfect form (where he is outmatched and knocked out with his face to the ground after a hard hit to the spine, reverting him to base form). It is suggested by Tien that this form had a power equal to Perfect Cell's, and by Piccolo that Vegeta only lost against Cell because he fought sloppily as when Vegeta used Final Flash, he destroyed a large portion of his body, but he had to redirect the majority of the power of his blast upwards to avoid destroying the planet, and it assumed that Cell escaped the brunt of the attack. Had Cell taken the brunt, he might have actually been destroyed. However, it was soon realized that Cell was really holding back. 16 also notes that although Cell had grown much stronger after absorbing Android 18, he was still ahead in every way, though Vegeta is able to tell that Cell was holding back his power, and this is proven when Cell does not use anything close to his full power to defeat Vegeta with ease.

Super Saiyan Third Grade

Main article: Super Saiyan Third Grade Future Trunks speculates that Vegeta achieved this form during his training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber but did not use it, Cell also says that Vegeta could transform into this form but did not use because he knew of its disadvantages. The anime comic for Dragon Ball Z: The History of Trunks lists Vegeta as a user of the form.

Vegeta attained this form through many years of intense training.[15][16][17] When Vegeta transforms to a Super Saiyan 2, he receives some noticeable changes, such as his hair growing a little bit longer, spikier and becoming more defined than his other previous Super Saiyan forms. He also gains electricity in the aura surrounding his body in this form. His power in this form is double that of his Super Saiyan form.

Vegeta is first seen in this form when he fights against Goku while as Demon Prince Vegeta. He also uses this form when fighting Super Buu before the Potara Fusion, albeit only in the anime. He also fights Kid Buu so Goku can gather enough energy in his Super Saiyan 3 form to defeat Kid Buu, during which he is easily beaten and reverted to base as Goku fails to charge up to his full power due to energy depletion. It was also used in the movie Fusion Reborn. Strangely enough, in both instances, including when fighting Kid Buu, lightning is removed from his transformation despite the bolts constantly surrounding his body in the original manga, causing some confusion over whether he actually used this form in the anime or not, as the bolts only appear for about a few seconds when he fires a barrage of ki blasts to stall for time. He also used this form to battle Super 17 and Omega Shenron but is badly beaten both times and seriously injured by Omega Shenron's Dragon Thunder.

In Dragon Ball Xenoverse, Vegeta's Super Saiyan 2 form is referred to as Super Vegeta 2 and possess greater ki control than a regular Super Saiyan 2. Cell also refers to the form as Ultra Super Vegeta.

I awoke one day to find that I had settled down, formed a family...I had even grown quite fond of them. Would you believe, I almost started to think the Earth was a nice place to live...? Do you understand now, Kakarot? That's why I needed Babidi to set me free. By releasing the evil in my heart, he has freed me of these petty attachments...and I'd have to say, it feels pretty good."

Majin Vegeta

Majin Vegeta (魔人ベジータ Majin Bejīta),[18][19] more properly known as Demon Prince (魔王子 Maōji),[20][16][21][22][23] is a powered up form[16] taken on by Vegeta. Vegeta takes this form when Babidi harnesses the evil in Vegeta's heart to take control of him, giving him a significant boost in power, including maintaining his Super Saiyan form. While having the Demon mark on his forehead, dark black lines around the eyes, and increased muscle mass puff up to the level that veins appear all over Vegeta's body and face. Vegeta's dark nature is reawakened, and he becomes more powerful than he was before (thanks to Babidi's magic unlocking his potential), the Manipulation Sorcery also gives him other special traits - including a seemingly unlimited stamina supply and the ability to survive and heal from injuries in an almost zombie-like way. Demon Prince Vegeta usually fights at the level of Super Saiyan 2 and his power equals that of Goku at his Super Saiyan 2 level. After Vegeta is killed by his devastating Final Explosion as a last resort to destroy Majin Buu, he loses his Demon Prince state and reverts to his normal stage but retains the power boost gained from it.

It is also called Evil Prince and Vegeta (Destruction) in Dragon Ball Z: Legendary Super Warriors. In Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, this state was originally called Majin Vegeta, though after an update it was changed Prince of Destruction Vegeta.

He also assumes the form in both Shin Budokai games, although unlike the first time, it was done completely unwillingly on Vegeta's part (the first time by a duplicate of said form created by Janemba, and the second by Future Babidi).

In the anime, Beerus noted he needed 10% of his power to defeat Vegeta, something no one had accomplished in eons.

Through the ritual with six pure-hearted Saiyans,[12] Vegeta became a Super Saiyan God at some point prior to Frieza's revenge during his six months of training under Whis - which eventually led to him obtaining the Super Saiyan Blue form.[24][25] In the anime, it is said that Vegeta achieved Super Saiyan God without needing the ritual.[26]

In the manga, when training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber Vegeta manages to train the Super Saiyan God and Super Saiyan Blue forms so that he can transform back and forth between the two forms in an instant - moving around as a Super Saiyan God, and attacking and defending as a Super Saiyan Blue, this allows him to negate the stamina flaw of the Super Saiyan Blue form, and allows for more concentrated and powerful attacks. Later, Top noted that the Super Saiyan God state possess the Aura of a God.[27]

Vegeta as a Super Saiyan Blue

During training with Whis, Vegeta learned that by attempting to transform into a Super Saiyan while in his God-like Saiyan state would cause him to transform into a Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan. It is currently Vegeta's strongest form and at many times he's been able to enhance the transformations power through different means. In this form Vegeta's hair becomes blue and he gains a sharp, silky blue aura. Vegeta uses the form against Golden Frieza after Goku had been taken out and switched turns with him. After the battle against Golden Frieza, Vegeta uses this transformation while training with Goku. When in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, Vegeta transforms so he and Goku could go all out in the room.

During the Tournament of Destroyers, Vegeta's displays the form to Cabba, whom Vegeta took a mentor role over. When Vegeta transformed against Hit, the power of the form was reduced to less than 10% due to this being Vegeta's fourth match in a row and the form requires a certain amount of stamina to maintain. Despite being more powerful than Hit's suppressed state, Vegeta was incapable of hitting him due to Hit's Time-Skip ability and was totally dominated, unable to even land a single strike on him.

Later while fighting Goku Black, Vegeta was initially able to dominate Black until he turned Super Saiyan Rosé. Then, Vegeta was swiftly crushed by Goku Black and nearly killed with a ki blade through the chest. After returning from the present Vegeta was once again crushed by the duo of Future Zamasu and Goku Black and escapes with the near dead Goku and after a quick training session in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber was able to finally mount and defeat Super Saiyan Rosé Goku Black.

In the manga during one of his many training sessions in the Hyberbolic Time Chamber, Vegeta manages to train the Super Saiyan God and Super Saiyan Blue forms to the point where he can swap between the two at will in an instant. Using the Super Saiyan God form for moving and Super Saiyan Blue for attacking and defending. By doing this Vegeta is able to get around the extreme stamina flaw of Super Saiyan Blue. He uses this while battling Super Saiyan Rosé Goku Black and easily overwhelms him.

Though, Beerus notes that Vegeta is now strong enough to become a candidate for God of Destruction in a different universe.

Through anger at Goku breaking his limits and getting one step ahead once more, Vegeta drew on the pride of nearly all his training over the years was purely self-taught, letting him evolve his Perfected Super Saiyan Blue state. In the anime, as noted by the Angels, this transformation is in essence unleashed by breaking a mental shell in subconscious to unlock a much deeper portion of his potential, similar to Ultra Instinct Sign.

In the anime, while fighting Jiren alongside Goku in the last minutes of the Tournament of Power, Vegeta awakens to a new power beyond Super Saiyan Blue with power rivaling Goku's Super Saiyan Blue Kaio-ken. It appears similar to Super Saiyan Blue but with darker hair, and visible black pupils while the irises are royal blue. Physically, he is built similar to Super Saiyan Second Grade, sporting somewhat sharper hair and his muscle mass increasing somewhat. He also can generate a denser aura that is a darker shade of blue and the particles sparkling about it.

In the manga, his appearance in this state remains virtually the same but also generates a strong yet calm aura again. Vegeta challenges Jiren with this state and manages to pressure Jiren, who notes Vegeta has given him more trouble than anything else he had faced during the Tournament of Power aside from the "ascended state" that Goku has displayed shortly before. However, Jiren proceeds to easily defeat him after releasing more power.

During his battle with Granolah, Vegeta attained this form for the first time after his Super Saiyan God SS Evolved form is seriously outmatched by the Cerealian. In it, Vegeta's muscle mass becomes noticeably larger and more defined. His hair becomes more jagged. His eyes gain visible pupils and purple irises. His brow ridges become hairless and very pronounced. His aura appears more like a raging fire. In addition to an immense boost of strength and speed, this form also augments Vegeta's sheer durability and endurance. At the same time, the more pain that he endures against a foe, the more powerful he becomes.

Like Majin Vegeta, this is a form outside the normal Saiyan transformations. This was achieved when Vegeta was cut and then infected by the Tuffle Baby. Vegeta was able to resist the takeover longer than anyone else but eventually Baby took control. Baby seems to have fused with Vegeta more completely than any of his other hosts, none of which were transformed. In the early stage, Vegeta's hair turns white in favor of the golden color of Super Saiyan, and red marks appear on his face. There is also a massive power augmentation. This form is transformed when Baby absorbs the negative energy from the infected people of Earth, briefly taking the form of Super Baby Vegeta, before finally becoming the more familiar Super Baby Vegeta 2. Later, when being completely overwhelmed by the power of Super Saiyan 4 Goku, Baby Vegeta transforms yet again, this time becoming a Golden Great Ape, a transformation which has previously allowed Goku to surpass Super Baby's power. Due to Baby-possessed Bulma's Blutz Wave Generator, Baby was transformed into a Golden Great Ape in order to compete with Super Saiyan 4 Goku. After his tail is severed, Baby Vegeta reverts to Vegeta's normal state and Baby leaves Vegeta's body.

Once Baby Vegeta gathers energy from Gohan, Goten, Trunks and Bulla, Vegeta's body goes through further developments. These include an increase of muscle mass that rips apart his shirt, his eyes becoming blue-colored visors, red lines sprawling across his chest and forehead, the acquiring of large metallic shoulder pads, and Vegeta's hair returning to its original length. Baby does not assume this form for long, as he soon gains enough energy from his followers to prompt a further transformation. Upon reaching this form, Baby says he is now the strongest being in the universe, a claim which is confirmed by Goku.[28] This form's hair also resembles Super Saiyan 2 Vegeta's hair, as it is spiked.

After sapping his mind slaves of their energies worldwide, Baby Vegeta again transforms, Baby's being dominating Vegeta's body so much that it bears a great resemblance to his real form. He now wears a black bodysuit with red and gold-colored gloves, boots and shoulder pads. His physical structure also has been completely altered, now bearing almost no resemblance to Vegeta, but rather mimicking a humanoid version of Baby's adult form. When Baby leaves Vegeta's body, he briefly retains Strongest Form 2 before reverting to normal. This form might be a version of Vegeta as a Super Saiyan 3; the first volume of the Dragon Ball GT: Perfect File states that "Strongest Form 2, which resembles Super Saiyan 3";[21] this claim is supported by the fact that the form lacks eyebrows and has the augmented browline, Vegeta could have used Baby's extra power to reach the form, and also because of Baby Vegeta's previous two forms can be seen as his equivalents to Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan 2. Additionally, in Dragon Ball Z: Scouter Battle Taikan Kamehameha - Ora to Omee to Scouter, Super Saiyan 4 has 1.25x the power of Super Saiyan 3, and Baby's Golden Great Ape form has around 1.2x the power of his Super Baby 2 form, suggesting that it is Super Saiyan 3. Additionally, it is noted in the Dragon Ball GT: Perfect File that his hair is longer in this state than in his previous forms - one of which is confirmed to be Super Saiyan, and the other of which is implied to be Super Saiyan 2. The extremely long hair might be absent due to Baby shaping it to match his own appearance.

Great Ape Baby is the form that Baby Vegeta achieved after receiving Blutz Waves from Bulma's Blutz Wave Generator. Baby Vegeta takes this form after receiving 1,000 times the normal amount of Blutz Waves.[21] Baby Vegeta transforms into a Golden Great Ape. This is his strongest form, as shown when he easily pounded Super Saiyan 4 Goku. Despite his immense size, he is surprisingly fast as he was able to keep up with the much smaller Goku for a time. Like Goku in this form, he has golden fur that covers most of his body but retains the "armor" that Baby naturally possesses. His eyes are different from normal Great Apes, as is his skin, which is blue colored rather than the brown color that normal Great Apes have. Like all the other Great Apes and Golden Great Apes, he is much larger than his normal form.

After Vegeta becomes fully conscious of himself, he transforms into a Super Saiyan 4.

Bulma used the Blutz Wave Generator as a substitute for the moon and used it on Vegeta. These waves ran through Vegeta's veins, forcing his tail to grow back, which is necessary for a Saiyan to transform into a Great Ape. With his tail back, like Goku, he was able to transform into a Great Ape. His enormous power allowed him to then transform into a Golden Great Ape, and then, upon gaining control of himself, he transformed into a Super Saiyan 4. Vegeta's features are quite different from his previous forms: his hair changes, the top becoming long again and nearly identical to his original hairstyle becoming longer, while becoming "wild" to extending past his shoulders and turning dark brown in color. His eyes are aqua colored with a red outline, and he has red fur on the upper part of his body, except for the chest. In the Dragon Ball Z Collectible Card Game, Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta card is called King of Saiyans, and in Xenoverse Recoome refers to this form as Golden Vegeta, and Cell refers to this form as Ultra Super Vegeta.

Noteworthy, Vegeta is not able to become a Super Saiyan 4 at will like Goku does. He instead needs to be exposed to enough concentrated Blutz Waves[9] if he wants to take on the form, which will only last for about ten minutes. Once returning to normal, he also loses his tail again.[30] This is probably because he did not naturally regain his tail like Goku did.

After being taken over by Baby in Dragon Ball GT, Vegeta eventually transforms into Strongest Form 2, which resembles Super Saiyan 3.

According to Funimation, as Vegeta is able to obtain the Golden Great Ape form, he possesses Super Saiyan 3.[32]

With unrivaled power, Vegito is one of the most powerful beings in Dragon Ball Z and is created as a desperate plan by Old Kai to stop the powerful Super Buu, when he was winning against Ultimate Gohan after absorbing Gotenks and Piccolo. At only base form, this fusion had a slight advantage against the Majin. Once transforming into Super Saiyan, he single-handedly pummeled Buu blithely without even needing to use his fists or any effort. It was obvious he had the physical power to maintain such feats, but he only appeared for a short time before his strategy to deliberately be absorbed into Buu's body (whilst keeping a barrier on to avoid being assimilated into his being) resulted in the ending of his time limit, resulting in diffusion. Vegito later makes an appearance in Dragon Ball Super and uses Super Saiyan Blue to fight Fused Zamasu, where they learn that mortals using the Potara Earrings can only remain fused for an hour, while Gods remain permanently fused.

Goku's adaptive and creative nature along with Vegeta's analytical and strategic mind enabled Vegito to be quite an intelligent fighter without being overcome by arrogance as Vegeta alone would be but possessing the ruthlessness to kill Super Buu that Goku would lack. In addition, Vegito also possesses the immense power and speed of both Goku and Vegeta amplified to great degrees, as well as the tactics and skill of both. He is very similar to Gogeta, who is another fusion of Goku and Vegeta. Elder Kai mentions the innate rivalry between Goku and Vegeta makes the fusion far more powerful than usual.
