Revenge Cannon (リベンジキャノン Ribenji Kyanon)[9][10][11] is a Mouth Energy Wave used by Gotenks in his Super Saiyan 3 form.

Overview[]

First, Gotenks opens his mouth and charges a yellow energy sphere. He then fires the energy sphere in the form of a jagged energy wave against the opponent, inflicting a high amount of damage.

Usage[]

Gotenks uses this attack during his battle against Super Buu. After getting knocked into a building by Super Buu, Gotenks attempts to attack Super Buu with a kick. However, the Majin counters with Ill Flash, injuring Gotenks and destroying the city they are fighting in. Humiliated, Gotenks retaliates by firing the Revenge Cannon at Super Buu, injuring and blasting the Majin onto the ground.[12]

Video Game Appearances[]

In the Budokai series, it is named Victory Cannon (ビクトリーキャノン) and is used by Gotenks and Super Buu (w/ Gotenks absorbed).

In the Supersonic Warriors series, it is named Dimensional Portal Cannon.

In Jump Super Stars, Gotenks can combine his Victory Cannon with Arale Norimaki's N'cha Cannon as their Super Tag.

In the Raging Blast series and Battle of Z, it is named Revenge Cannon and Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks' Super Attack.

In Dragon Ball Heroes, it is named Victory Cannon and is used by Fat Gotenks.

In Dokkan Battle, it is Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks' Super Attack.

In Xenoverse, it is named Victory Cannon and is Gotenks signature Evasive Skill. As an Evasive Skill, it works somewhat differently than previous depictions, as it propels the user backfire upon being fired, allowing the user to attack while putting some distance between them and the opponent, and the mouth energy wave can cancel the damage from opponents energy waves while it is being fired. Instead of the standard golden-yellow colored energy wave seen in past depictions, it is depicted as bluish colored. It can be obtained by the Future Warrior as a reward in Parallel Quest 35: "Tag with Gotenks".

In Xenoverse 2, Victory Cannon returns as Gotenks' Evasive Skill. It can be randomly obtained by the Future Warrior in Parallel Quest 54: "Majin Revival". As part of the 1.17.00 Update DLC, it can be added to Super Buu (Gohan Absorbed)'s custom skillset after purchasing it in Partner Customization.

Trivia[]

  • The technique's Japanese name, Bikutorī Kyanon (ビクトリーキャノン), can be translated as either "Big Tree Cannon" or "Victory Cannon". The name Bikutorī Kyanon translated as "Big Tree Cannon" is used for Gotenks' energy wave technique fired from the hands in the Budokai Tenkaichi series.
  • In Dragon Ball: Raging Blast 2, Gotenks is named "Super Gotenks 3" when this move is unlocked. This is similar to "Super Trunks 2" in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai.
  • In Supersonic Warriors, its name Dimensional Portal Cannon is presumably a reference to Gotenks' Vice Shout (alternatively it is due to the developers mistaken Victory Cannon for Vice Shout).
