First, Vegeta punches the opponent, then kicks him upwards. Then, Vegeta quickly rushes upward from below, kicking the opponent brutally in the stomach. Finally, he elbows the opponent downwards, inflicting massive damage.
The technique was performed during Super Vegeta's fight with Semi-Perfect Cell.
Video Game Appearances
Spirit Breaking Cannon was named in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 and Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3. Only in Budokai Tenkaichi 2, there is an extra bit to the attack after Vegeta elbows his opponent down which involves the opponent landing on the ground followed by Vegeta charging down at them violently and delivering a devastating stomp to their midsection, inflicting a lot of damage. Vegeta then picks up the opponent by their leg and throws them away to a long distance. This extra bit was taken away in Budokai Tenkaichi 3. In the Budokai Tenkaichi series, Vegeta can also use the Spirit Breaking Cannon in his Super Saiyan 4 form.
In the Raging Blast series, the move is a counterattack and the punch at the beginning is removed.
- In Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 3, several characters including Goku, Yamcha and Uub can perform the kick that's part of this attack to finish in a Dragon Rush.
- The famous kick to the gut seen in the manga and video games was not performed in the anime.
