This article is about the technique used by Cyborg Tao. For the technique originally used by Chiaotzu that also appears in Dragon Ball Fusions, see Super Dodon Blast.

Super Dodon Wave (スーパーどどん波 Sūpā Dodonpa, lit. "Super Boom Wave") is a more powerful variation of the Dodon Ray used by Mercenary Tao in his cyborg form.

Overview[]

Tao disconnects his robotic hand, revealing a Arm Cannon through which he fires a bigger and more powerful Dodon Ray. Tao also adjusts the biological waves to match that of his target, so the Super Dodon Wave will pursue the target until it blasts them.[3]

Usage and Power[]

Cyborg Tao fires the Super Dodon Wave at Mr. Lao

Cyborg Tao uses this attack to try and kill Tien Shinhan during their match in the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament, however, Tien nullifies the blast with a Kiai and then defeats Tao with one punch to his stomach. When Tao reappears years later, he uses the technique in an attempt to kill Mr. Lao, but fails when young Gohan steps in the way of the attack.[4] Unlike Tao's regular Dodon Wave, the Super Dodon Wave has never succeeded in doing any damage to the opponent due to his opponent's great strength.

Video Game Appearances[]

Super Dodon Wave was named in the Budokai Tenkaichi series and Dragon Ball Heroes, where it appears as Cyborg Tao's Ultimate Blast.

Cyborg Tao can also use the attack in Dragon Ball: Advanced Adventure and Dragon Ball Z: The Legacy of Goku II.

It appears as Cyborg Tao's Super Attack in Dragon Ball Z: Dokkan Battle.

In Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, if Cyborg Tao is spoken to while investigating Raditz's Landing Site with his brother, he notes that once he finds the parts he needs, he'll be able to build a weapon that surpasses even the dreaded Super Dodon Ray.
