The Dragon Ball: Super Exciting Guides (ドラゴンボール 超エキサイティングガイド) are two databooks released by Shueisha in 2009, the "Story Volume" and the "Character Volume".
The Super Exciting Guides are based on the kanzenban release of the manga, and provide information mostly already available in the Daizenshuu and in the official two kanzenban guides Dragon Ball Landmark and Dragon Ball Forever.
The first book in the series is the "Story Volume" released in on March 4, 2009, which covers the story aspects of the Dragon Ball manga series, including the main battles, trainings, and friendships. The second guide is the "Character Volume" released on April 3, 2009, and which take a look at the characters themselves. It is very similar to both Daizenshuu 2 and Daizenshuu 4, covering the main characters, the Dragon Ball world, its many races, and many of the main techniques used throughout the series.
Included before the table of contents in each volume is a small fold-out poster of a montage of various characters from throughout the series. Those posters can be combined to create a larger poster. The seven Dragon Balls are hidden throughout the two posters, and on the back side the characters are color coded into groups, with names and brief biographies for each character. Following the poster, is a page of stickers entitled "Dragon Ball Hyper Battle Seal". The guides title page showcases the cover artwork from the final kanzenban volume. Both volumes contain an interview with Akira Toriyama.
