"Discharges disc-shaped Ki Blasts while moving backwards. The discs move in a straight line and are unblockable."
Tail Slicer is a variation of the Destructo Disc originally used by Vegeta to cut off Great Ape Gohan's Tail during the climax of the Vegeta Saga. While it was successful in removing Gohan's tail, Gohan fell on top of Vegeta as he was reverting to his base form, injuring the Saiyan Prince forcing him to flee using his Attack Ball. Earlier in the fight Krillin had attempted to use his Destructo Disc in a similar manner to cut off Great Ape Vegeta's tail while he was distracted by Gohan, but Vegeta realized what they were planning and dodged the attack.
Goku uses the technique in the film Dragon Ball Z: The Tree of Might to save Great Ape Gohan from Turles' Kill Driver by cutting off his tail causing Gohan to revert to his smaller base form, allowing him to pass harmlessly through the center of the deadly energy ring.
Video Game Appearances
Tail Slicer was named in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 where it appears after the 1.05.00 Update as a Super Skill which the Future Warrior (Xenoverse 2) can obtain as a reward for completing New Expert Mission 19: "A Truly Hellish Transformation". After the 1.09.00 Update, it can be added to Vegeta's custom skillset after purchasing it for 5 TP Medals in Partner Customization. Though Goku cannot acquire Tail Slicer, he can learn the standard Destructo-Disc Super Skill for 5 TP Medals in Partner Customization.
In Dragon Ball Xenoverse, Krillin uses his Destructo Disc in the same manner as Tail Slicer to successfully cut off Great Ape Vegeta's tail in the altered timeline of the Saiyan conflict in Age 762 due to the absence of Yajirobe.
