Wouldn't Medamatcha's absorption technique go under the absorption in reference to Ki? since it's energy that is being absorbed?

buu is made of clay but not in animation and it can absorb anyone first he absored gotenks,piccolo,gohan and buu was realy powerful and no can beat him

Buu's Absorption

Buu is magical in nature, but I've always wondered if there's a limit to what it can absorb.For example dead bodies? If Goku had died in their battle, could Kid Buu still absorb him and gain his abilities? Or does the victim have to be alive for that to work?
