The Original Kamehameha (元祖かめはめ波 Ganso Kamehameha, lit. "Original Kamehame Wave") is the original Kamehameha technique created over fifty years by Master Roshi.

Overview

The technique involves wide sweeping arm movements and cupping the hands together before bringing them forward to fire a blue wave of energy.

Usage and Power

Roshi uses the Kamehameha!

Roshi uses this attack as Jackie Chun during his match against Goku in the 21st World Martial Arts Tournament. He also uses it during his match against Tien Shinhan in the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament, as well as against Master Shen when the latter threatens Chiaotzu during the final of the tournament. He later uses it against Dr. Kochin's Bio-Warriors when fighting them inside Dr. Wheelo's fortress in the movie Dragon Ball Z: The World's Strongest.

Video Game Appearances

The Original Kamehameha was named in the Budokai Tenkaichi series and Dragon Ball Heroes, where it is one of Master Roshi's Blast 2 in his base and Max Power forms.

Trivia

  • In the filler episode "The Fire-Eater", Goku prepares a Kamehameha in a manner similar to how Roshi sometimes prepares his Kamehameha; using the sweeping arm movements. Goku uses it to blow a hole in the mountain to escape through.
