Spam protection filter Edit

The Earth article can't be edited for some section due to the Spam protection filter, same for Dragon Ball Z (I wanted to link the "We Were Angels" ending theme). Can you do something? Jeangabin666 12:41, August 12, 2011 (UTC)

Haha, funny timing. :-D Anyway, the reason I'm pretty generous with rollback is that it's only a convenience mechanism, and it really doesn't give the user anything he doesn't already have. I mean, think about the difference between a regular user who wants to revert an edit and a rollbacker who wants to revert an edit. The former will click two links and the latter will click one link. That's seriously the only difference between the two user classes.

And, if it turns out that a user is abusing the privilege it's easy enough to remove it. (Though, a user who recklessly reverts edits will no doubt need to be blocked from editing of any sort, regardless of whether he had rollback or not.) Anyway, that's my rationale. Are there users who have been abusing the function that haven't otherwise been dealt with? --  talk contr 21:30, August 12, 2011 (UTC)

What you said is not completely true. When a user rolls back someone's edit, the action doesn't show up in the activity feed, so you won't see what changes made by reverting the last edits before it's rolled back unless you go to the page and check the history. Thus, constructive edits may be gone in vain if a user randomly rolls them back as long as the page is not purposely checked which exactly is what I had to go through, earlier. - User:Kill You/sig 21:35, August 12, 2011 (UTC)

Ah, interesting. Back when I initiated the free rollback policy, the recent changes page was still easily accessible, and I've kept using it, so I never noticed that. (The activity feed sure does seem anemic by comparison. :-D) Anyway, I know a lot of users use the activity feed now that Wikia has obscured the recent changes page, so that is a valid consideration. For now, I'll readopt the policy of only giving out rollback to users who've proven themselves. (In addition, feel free to let me know about users who are having difficulty using rollback competently and we'll relieve them of that responsibility.) fixing image thumbnails Edit

Hi, I found a way to get rid of the "Added by ____" things at the bottom of the image thumbnails. You must go into MediaWiki:Wikia.css and put:

.picture-attribution { display:none !important; }

I think it would be a good idea to use this on this wiki because all those added by's are unnecessary and make the thumbnails take up more space and become and eye-sore. - SuperTienchaTalk Contributions.

I agree with Super Tiencha, especially when a lot of the pics were uploaded by Beatdmc, who uploaded great pics, but since he dosen't have a proper avatar, it's kind of annoying seeing that little gray man avatar below every pic. Please Advise Against Chat Trolling Edit

Hi, I'm leaving this message to you as well the other recently active admins. We've received complaints from several users that members of this wiki were trolling the chats of other wikis recently. I'm told that they all jumped in as a crowd and behaved badly in a variety of ways. Enough is enough. I am tired of these fools coming on here and screwing up our wiki! That guy who used profane and offensive language shouldn't have even been able to make a page, let alone edit one. I say that people need to make an account before they can edit on this wiki and ALL IP users are banned. Because from what I have seen the IP users are the ones doing all the vandalism, And if account users vandalize, they should be banned as well from this wiki. If the account users find it unfair they can take it up with the mods on their talk pages. This wiki is for people who love this series and want to refresh their memories or learn more about it. Chat Moderator Edit

Hello Nonoitall, I send you an e-mail a few months ago, but i haven't got an answer since.

The wiki chat is full of rude people who use violent language all the time against other users, some of the current chat mods won't do anything about it, so can you please give me a chat moderator function? So that i can give the rude people a warning to next kick-ban them from the chat?

I don't know if I would give him Chat Moderator privilages, this user was on chat for the first time that I ever remember and I am on chat very often. The rudeness is probably users roleplaying with each other and he thinks they are serious. Also he may have been complaining about swearing that happens before a chat mod logs onto chat, the chat logs do not save so it is next to impossible to confirm anything that had happen prior to the chat mod logging onto chat. I know he can make decisions, I was just giving my input. Where do you find false information about you? Yeh. I have made it so that it is kind of like my favorite villains (in order) are kind of facing off against my favorite heroes (in order). I also like how the top four are in attacking positions and the botom four are in face off postures. And Maron is hot XD. Infobox question Edit

Hey, I've got a quick question about the sagas infobox...on the page for the Trunks Saga, the Kai episodes are shown as 1-58, since the Garlic Jr. saga doesn't have any input for Kai episodes. Having a Problem Edit

Hey dude. I'm having a problem finding a user's contributions, that user being the person who uploaded this image: http://dragonball.wikia.com/wiki/File:Goku_vs_Piccolo.jpg

The issue is that when I click, wikia misinterprets the characters in his name, and links me to the wrong place. Finding his contributions is important, since every article with an image uploaded by him is now completely blank, save the categorization. The articles are still normal in the monobook skin, but new wikia look users are quite frustrated. The article blanking consequence only started like 2 days ago, and users are unable to find the reason for article blanking that happened recently since the image may have been posted months ago or more. I have contacted central staff about the error, but we should try and clean up here on our own if you have a good way to follow that link.

Help with a template? Edit

Hey Nonoitall, on the Template:Episode infobox there's a rather serious problem. The corresponding uncut episodes piece of the infobox doesn't work at all for Kai or Edited episodes, and the template is rather difficult to work with so I can't figure out where the problem is. You have a lot of experience, so I was hoping you could take a look at it? Also, it would be helpful to have a next/previous episode piece of the infobox. Thank you! I'm currently experimenting with my own version of your template, but simplified. I really like the design of your infobox, but I think because yours is designed to be somewhat automatic, it's more room for error. Right now I'm playing around with my version, which is basically all user input. It may be more work for the editor, but that's something I think most of us are used to. I only have limited experience, but I think I know how to make sure the edited episodes (and I think the kai episodes) can properly list the corresponding uncut episode. The uncut episodes need to be included into the property: in anime series. Except there's no manual way (that I know of anyway) to simply edit the property and add the episode itself. That means I need to include some kind of code into the DBZ uncut episodes (all of which currently use the Template:EpisodeInfobox, which is the simplified version of your template). Again, because of my limited knowledge with this, I'm not exactly sure how to create a line of code that would do this. Perhaps you could figure that out? As for listing the corresponding Kai episodes, I think that could only be done through manual listing, but I think that can be dealt with later. Deus Gladiorum (talk) 22:22, August 30, 2012 (UTC)

Videos Edit

Hey man. In case you don't follow the MoS talk page, I just wanted to give you a quick update. After a bit of nudging from wikia staff, they made it clear that videos should be a part of the site. I worked with them to set it so that only videos from their video library - which are all licensed for our use - can be uploaded or embedded. I haven't verified that it works like that yet, but I haven't seen any non-licensed video uploads since. Anyway, for the moment I have suggested keeping videos off articles, and having a period of time where users can experiment with the video library on userspace, blogs, and forums. Problems with specific article; Error code Edit

I receive an error code now for the Spopovich (Collectibles) article. Why is this happening...? Just want to make sure I'm not the only one with this problem. I tried re-creating the article, but once I redirect over to the title, I get the error code repeatedly for this specific article.

Deceased category Edit

I have a major dilemma with the non-inclusion of this category. I find it a wonder that we haven't inserted it yet. I am currently in the process of putting in this complaint to numerous other wikia projects. How can we not have a category for deceased characters? I went to other wikia projects to try and understand this establishment and came across other admins who have notated that it goes against the in-universe POV. That seems like complete rubbish to me because if the characters in the universe itself admit to this fact, then they are admitting that the character has perished; it is not the audience that it assuming that they are dead. They are portrayed to die and are noted as such. As a matter of fact, if it weren't for deceased characters, I wouldn't like any at all. This is by far, to me, the greatest outrage in terms of locating wikia categories. I am systematically looking through wikia projects as a resource to locate characters who have died throughout a specific series; to deny me the pleasure of the fact is utter insanity. To me, if there is a series without death, then it isn't even worth my time. And in the case of Dragon Ball, I know that characters come back to life; but if a character ends up dying and remains dead when the series is completed, then the character must be noted as "Deceased". The character is not living so this plays a huge factor in my determining and locating the characters based on this category. Is it possible this category existed here but it had been removed prior? Likely. Is it possible this category was never a part of this wikia? Unlikely. However, I am completely against the removal of a useful category such as this; as it is, to me, the absolute most useful category aside from notating which season something belongs to. There are many categories I myself find utterly useless, but this is definitely, one hundred percent, not one of them. I am passing this message along to 10XKamehameha as well to see his take on the matter. But I would implore all my comrades to understand the overall impression and ease this category adds to locating characters based on their initial and final fate. - PrinceZarbon talk contrib 18:49, December 22, 2012 (UTC)

I noticed a typo on the Super Saiyan God Page and I was gonna edit it to fix it, but since it is Protected from Editing, I'm inform in you instead.

In the last sentence of the Overview Section there is the below sentence:
After the Goku and Bills battle against, Vegeta says that he will be Super Saiyan God next time.

That sentence should be this instead for it to make sense and to not have typing errors:

I have reason to believe (they have done bad things to me before) that Kotsu meant "gang r*pe.

I said "Let's gang dan in txting". First of all, which hat did you pull the rape card from Dan. Second of all, I do not roll that way, and third of all, I don't think you know what "ganging" even means as a stand-alone word. xD
