SummaryEdit

Yamcha carrot
Puar, transformed into a carrot.

The chapter begins with Yamcha outside of Kame House, deciding what to do to train. Puar suggests that he return to his old bandit hideout in the Diablo Desert around Mt. Paozu, and after Yamcha agrees, Puar travels ahead of him. On arrival, Yamcha discovers Puar who has transformed into a giant carrot. Puar reveals that he transformed into a carrot in order to escape Monster Carrot who has escaped from the Moon, taken over Yamcha's hideout, and turned all his old bandit friends into carrots.

Yamcha continues through the desert, battling other Bandits, thieves, and members of the Rabbit Mob, until he finally comes across his old hideout. Inside, he discovers Monster Carrot casually smoking a cigar. Monster Carrot says it was a pain getting back from the moon, and that he is going to use Yamcha's hideout as the base of his operations even if it is "shabby". Yamcha despises the idea and begins fighting Monster Carrot and two of his elite guards.

Yamcha and Puar

After being defeated, Monster Carrot grovels and begs for Yamcha to spare him. Yamcha thinks it over, and in exchange for his life, Monster Carrot cleans Yamcha's apparently "shabby" hideout. Puar is astonished that Yamcha had gotten so strong, and says that he could probably even beat Goku by now. But Yamcha feels otherwise, and claims that now he is going to train even harder for the next three years in order to defeat Goku at the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament.
