"The first thing is to wipe out this filthy planet."
Dragon Ball Z: The Tree of Might

Cacao (カカオ Kakao) is one of the henchmen led by Turles in Dragon Ball Z: The Tree of Might.

Appearance[]

Cacao's appearance is marked by cyborg components adorned over skin similar in appearance to magma. The only organic parts of his body not covered by his cyborg parts are his neck, head (minus the top), and part of his arms. He has yellow eyes. Cacao's Battle Armor can open to reveal rocket propulsion jetpacks located inside his legs, shoulders, and chest, which he can use to rapidly ascend. He wears a red Scouter.

Personality[]

Cacao is the most reserved and quiet of the Crusher Corps. He is focused on gaining power, having joined the group in the hope of strengthening his cyborg body and remorselessly attacking planets with the rest of the team to increase his power by eating the Fruit of the Tree of Might. Despite his reserved nature, he seems to work well with Daiz. He is also rather perceptive, as when Yamcha mentions that they destroyed his new Hovercar, Cacao confirms this, indicating he is aware that Yamcha must be referring to when Amond cleared the area with his Planet Bomb.

In the two versions of the film where he speaks in full-fledged sentences, Cacao is shown to look down on life and nature of other planets in general, referring to Earth as a "filthy planet" and being eager to wipe out all life on it.

Biography[]

Background[]

Cacao was born on planet Ikonda and was converted into a battle Cyborg to fight in an interstellar war. After this, he became a galactic lone-wolf bounty hunter and volunteers to join the Turles Crusher Corps in the hopes of strengthening his cyborg body, which is made from a special metal that makes him immune to ordinary attacks,[1] including Yamcha's Spirit Ball. Alongside the other Crusher Corps, Cacao traveled the universe planting the Tree of Might on various planets to eat the Fruit of the Tree of Might and increase his power. Eventually, the group hoped to gain enough power to overthrow Frieza and conquer the universe.

Trivia[]

XV - Crystal Battle Suit

Female Future Warrior wearing the Crystal Battle Suit in Xenoverse that resembles Cacao's Battle Armor

  • Cacao's name is based on cocoa, a type of bean used to make a variety of products, mostly chocolate.
  • The mannerism and effect used for Cacao's voice varies with each dub. In the original Japanese version of The Tree of Might, he says da, the Russian word for 'yes'. In the AB Groupe dub, Speedy dub and uncut Ocean Group dub, he only grunts, while in the studio's edited dub, as well as the Funimation dub, he speaks in full-fledged sentences and has an electronic-garbled voice (though his mouth remains closed).
  • The Crystal Battle Suit from the Xenoverse series resembles Cacao's Battle Armor though it should be noted it is actually just a recolor of Vegeta's Battle Suit from the Vegeta Saga as it has a tail that is the same metallic color rest of the suit. This also applies to the Gold Battle Suit which is a metallic gold recolor of the same suit.
